  • 2:41 is an incredible sight! The most potent symbol of freedom triumphing over oppression is Ceaucescu's shock.

  • @eduardcristian91

In 89, tu nici nu erai inclus in ''family planning''.

  • Do you think that UK will still be today the power that it is?I think not.East europeans are very smart people, smarter that most of the westerners, remember that, but they have to many fights to carry, they are overwelmed.

  • Comment removed

  • @ArmaDAARmin smarter?? You can't be serious . The East was nowhere near as innovative as the West whether it was about engineering chemistry medicine architecture agriculture etc. Pick any industry any branch of science any art form and name one where the East beat the West at any time over the last 1000 years. You were always behind and always will be. Modern democracy itself was invented by the West and you just don't know how to do it. Not surprising at all.

  • @sondano You are so funny dude, first read a little bit, grow a little older and then make a statement. Why is the west rich, because the east countries didnt have time to listen to music and read a book quietly, they had to defend Europe of russian and islamic invasions. The balcanik and east europe is the cradle of europeans at least because there are lost civilizations like Pelasgians who are older then ancient egyptians, or sumerians. So dont look down on us you smart ass

  • @sondano And one more thing, do you have any ideea how many nations, tribes have passed through central and east europe since the known history?I can tell you from my countries point of view.We didnt had peace for 2000 years, and you know what we have peace and we are ''free'' from the teritory point of view for 22 years. So practicaly a nation, civilization cannot develop without stability. So dont look down on us you smart ass

  • We are fighting for 2000 years for our liberty, and we thought the democracy is the thing, but its not.So the oppression continues. So sad, our geopolitical placement will not give us liberty. We always had been at the intersection of the great powers. We are today, in the middle of the battle field.Westerners and US in west, Russia in north-east, islam in the south.Do you think that if UK had its territory in our place and we in their place would have been different?

  • By the way i had never seen this video before;

    It's very strange.

    So this was happening back then during the last year of Communist era;

Tsausesku was speaking , some people had been interrupting him and he and his wife were telling everybody to shut up?!?!?!!

    Really strange situations.

I found all these quite interesting as much as this sound weird because that proves the psychology of the masses in Communist totalitarian regimes.

I would only wish there were more documentaries like this.

  • @ZA56AA Yes, the only thing that lacked in the comunism, was the lack of being cool.People like to be cool, they will envy you if you are a cool person, this thing applies also to societies.

  • 5:19 , that is the Ceausescu moment, the moment when a dictator realises his loss of power.

    Vive Liberte!

  • Today the middle class does not exist, only rich and very poor.We as a state can not express our point of view, WHY? Because we are not a state anymore.Do you think the americans, the french, the english, the italians, the germans, the austrians give a shit about you, do you think they give a shit that you dont have the money to buy a bottle of milk for your child? This is the fact, you are the scum of Europe, they dont give a shit about you and your child.

  • In order for west europe to maintain a growing economy for their countries, they needed new markets where they can extend, it is happening even today in all regions of the world. They destroyed the economies of occupied countries, they corrupted the political class. For corruption to take place you need 2 parties, one the BUYER(western companies) and second the SELLER(the romanian state, or politicians). So romanians dont think that corruption is something we invent, this was brought to us by WEST

  • The crowd was manipulated, the country went very well in the comunist era, the people had bigger wages than in western countries, now Romania does not exist anymore, every factory is bought by western countries, our petrol and gas was taken as well, we have our own production of petrol and natural gas which is going to west and we are buying at increased prices gas and petrol from Rusia. All the ex-comunists countries are just market for US and westerners, were they can sell their products.

  • @ArmaDAARmin

""the country went very well in the comunist era, the people had bigger wages than in western countries"??

    What exactly are you saying;

It's a fact that people back in those times were surely starving to death and they wer freezing to death.

    It's a universal fact.

Communist poarties or ex-communist parties and ther sympathizers must be banned ad their sympathizers be executed in Europe even today, even now that democracy has won.

Even today ex-communists should be executed.

  • @ZA56AA I leaved in comunist Romania, and it was not bad at all, actualy much better than today, that doesn't mean that i'm pro comunism, but that the truth.I do not know how other ex-comunists countries were, but in Romania was much better than today. We are struggling for 20 years to do something to have a better life but whithout succes. There is no democracy today.Unfortunately we live in a false society which says we are free, but we are not.

  • @ArmaDAARmin

But i believe you understand, don;t you?

    Some of the main reasons Romania faces those kind of problems TODAY have their roots BACK in the Communist Era from the first place;

  • @ZA56AA Yes you cant do i shit for your country if the richer ones dont have something to gain from it, as parasites will eat up this country soon once and for all.

  • @ArmaDAARmin

Look i also come from a country that it had never been communist but it has been always in turmoil.

The same excuses about Western powers' evilness had been said in here as well.

I understood that allthese had been excuses for the failures.

I also understood one major this:Nations are entirely responsibles for their own destiny.

Even if a country has been treated unfairly in the past by West, this is not an excuse for today to continue being like it used to be decades ago.

  • @ZA56AA Hmmm, no they are not.Responsible for their own destinies are US, France,UK and so on.But Romania, Bulgaria..?when the monetary fund comes and says look you need to sell you oil, gas, and all the riches to the west, if not you will not get the money.

  • @ArmaDAARmin

    Hold on a minute because i am listening the same thing in here that IMF has already came;

What would you expect from them to say?

Yes we give you the money and do with them whatever you people want?!!!

And you think that would be fair?!

Would you give your money to someone without haveing ensured first that you are going to get them back sometime after??

  • @ZA56AA I'm sorry I cant see the logic in what you are writting here.Have you listened to what i said?

  • @ArmaDAARmin

How did this country-any country-come into this situation?>

    Because of irresponsible public policies.

Then they deserve to get into IMF programme and that always means austerity.

  • @ZA56AA Let it go man..if you are reading carefull what i wrote below you will find the answer.Cheers

  • @ArmaDAARmin

You are speaking like you are the right one and the person with knowledge!hehe

    Are you kidding me now?

You read what i wrote as far as now.

  • @ZA56AA For example, in order for a society to be democratic, i'm refering to the democratic states of the world and especialy to those very rich, these very rich countries should alow to the less developed countries to develop as they want. The rich countries have bought the less developed ones, that means the democracy is a good thing if i'm leaving in US for example, i do not want to leave in an exploited of Romania, where I struggle every day to buy a piece of meat.

  • @ArmaDAARmin We live in an era of manipulation(there is no free press), fraud, genocid, poverty, and all of this under Democracy. How do you think the democracy as you say is democracy will feed 7 billion people at the same standards of life as in US?

  • fuck you all!! at that time we were as disciplinated and powerful like a true BIG country, we were very respected by everyone, Romania was Europe's paradise now you all call us gipsyes and thieves, we live in poverty like never before, thank you traitors, thank you revolution, thank you political assassins, thank you capitalism for being Europe's trash bin where everybody shit wenever they get the chance, Romania is no more of ROMANIANS, i hope you never get this feeling of being betrayed

  • what is the crowd chanting????

  • That's what he gets for ruining the lifes of the romanian people for many decades.

  • marksmen from the surrounding buildings. there were about 7 that died within minutes and the rest were wriggling on the pavement with terrible wounds. There was a lot of blood and we were trying to take cover as best as we could. That was the beginning of the "Revolution" in Bucharest.

  • @cezartandarica Some people are clearly chanting against him. Bullhorns apparently spread the news that the securitate were firing (if your story is true then maybe they were) and a revolution was taking place, which encouraged people to chant against him.

I've seen footage from the square and I've not seen anything that indicates so many people were shot. Is this true? But he definitely lost the crowd by the end of the speech. I'm an enthusiast, sorry for so many questions.

  • @cezartandarica Also, most people in Romania genuinely hated Ceausescu; the only ones applauding in front seem to be the hired party hacks.

Were you there as a willing member of the crowd? I've heard different theories - that fireworks or bombs went off at the back, some dissidents arrived and started chanting and incited others, a lamp standard collapsed (with a sound like gunfire), etc...

But people definitely chanted against Ceausescu again after a period of temporary calm.

  • if you listen carefully, you will distinctly notice that the people were screaming in terror and agony while at the same time the Securitate (intelligence) people were trying to get Ceausescu to run from the balcony. It was imperative to the Securitate (because they were the ones who orchestrated the so called "Revolution") to get Ceausescu fleeing in a helicopter and the cameras to film the event. What happened in fact, because i was there- at the back - there were about 30 people shot by the

  • And now all we need is the restoration of the monarchy with King Michael! Vivat Rex Romaniae!

  • @errotizmChannel Corect!

  • The same story happens today with the actual government.. expect a similar end soon..

  • @polarphilately No, it really was a kangaroo court. Even their own lawyers accused them of crimes and there wasn't even a pretense of it being a fair trial. I don't even think any evidence was provided. I'm not saying they weren't guilty because it's clear that they were but it wasn't a fair trial by any stretch of the imagination.

  • A kangaroo court? His crimes were well-documented so it didn't have to take long to convict him.

  • Live by the sword, die by the sword. Decades of state crime, police repression, mass terror, starvation, humilation of millions of Romanians coming to an end.

  • I would love to know what the guard said to him at 2:52.

Probably, "Shut up and run Nikolai"

  • @admiraldma "They are entering the building" were his words I believe.

  • It wasn't good end. It was uncivilized, it was illegal. He should be a defendant and convicted by law and justice. Hey people, is it democracy to brutally kill somebody, even such a dictator?

  • @Vasil108 is it democracy to shoot a mad dog? YES

  • @Vasil108 It was no democracy before, during or after the revolution.. not even today. So I guess everything is allowed.

  • Thanks for providing this and the translation. The only thing additional I could ask for is a translation of what the crowd is saying at various points.

I remember hearing a translation of the statement from Romanian State Radio at the time ..... "Ceauşescu the anti-christ is dead." Riveting times back then.

  • Why not include the last words of this last speech when this crowd turned angry and said they wouldn't take his bullshit anymore. "ALLO!!! ALLO!!!! BE QUIET AND STAY IN YOUR PLACE! ALLO!!! ALLO!!!

  • sooo pathetic...but at least it's a dramatic send off.

  • Nicolae Ceausescu to Elena: Shh! Shut up..

    Lol :)

  • fucking pig

  • it was only a coup d'etat of Iliescu

  • I dont understand.. why people cheer if he was overthrown couple of days (or the same day) later?

  • @KapaH8sU Its not the regular people cheering, its ceausescu's people and the security; this video dsnt show everything but that was the day and the place where everything started. During this speech, people started to react badly enough to make him run away in his helicopter. Not for long, he was caught one day later i think.

  • what an idiot

  • i like the part when he says hallo...

  • long live to Elena and Nicolae

  • the guy seems to be too inexperienced to handle such situations.

  • i adore romanians for killing this scum ... i wish people of former CSSR had balls to do it with our commies :(

  • @MrPolishadam GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!

  • everything starts with 2:45.. what the hell happens right at that time..

  • @apturaman ok i will esxpline to you, but my english sucklol, someone in the crowd was drink alkohol, and he say go down shawsisko, and then people near him say same thing and at the finish all the crowd say go out shawsisko

  • @SangMarocain thank you. but it is very strange that some words of a drunk man started the fall of cauecasku. one thing more if you can explain cauceasku hagi relation. did caucaesku have adoration against hagi. and what hagi thinks about cauceasku, hate or respect..

  • @apturaman i don't know my brother

  • @MrPolishadam Sorry to say that, but what you described sounds exactly like the american comments I find on youtube. I have relatives there. I have no problems with your country at all. But most seem to be 1. totally uninformed or 2. totally disinformed about the world we live in. Americans are lovely. But their media holds them stupid. I knew that many europeans are uninformed because of our misbehaving media. But it seems to be even worse where you are.

  • IM AMERICAN I HATE MY SELF SOOO MUCH, WE REALLY ARE THE STUPIDIST LAZIEST PEOPLE ON EARTH, IT MAKES ME SICK THAT IM A AMERICAN, I WANNA CHANGE MY CITIZENSHIP HOW DO I DO THAT?? CAN SOMEONE HELP MEPLEASE

  • @EliuszHadrian Up until the late 70's, he was genuinely popular and did many good things for Romania. When he started to admire the North Korean system was when things started to go wrong. Even in the 80's, he genuinely believed his people loved him; he had no riot police, and thought this crowd had gathered from genuine support for him. He just lost touch with reality in the end.
