Does every one have amnesia? The last democratic president was as far right as the rest. I understand how horrible these last eight years have been but with uncritical backing of President Obama, he has no reason to go against powerful lobby interests.
How the BUSH fam TOGETHER WITH the BIN LADEN fam MADE TENS OF MILLIONS OF DOLLARS WITH THEIR CARLYLE GROUP ON THE WARS IN IRAQ, AFGANISTAN... AFTER 9 11...
To have a better understanding of what caused the financial crisis and how we can remedy it please read a post titled "Why is the United States undergoing a political and Financial Crisis?" and watch the third video down labeled "The Money Masters" at:
You are all idiots if you think these clips are correctly showing his position. Charlie is telling you partial truths with partial clips to reinforce his distortion. He is against bigger government and is for deregulation in many areas. Senator McCain was against the high risk mortgages that the democrats forced on the mortgage companies to take. It dates back to President Carter. The democrats are the ones that caused the financial crisis we are in. Learn your facts morons.
Lol, I have to admit I was a huge fan of McCain. He's a great man. But a strongly disagree with his position to support continuing the Iraq war indefinitely. Bring the troops home!
We've already killed more than a million Iraq's and funneled over a trillion dollars out of the tax payers towards companies like Halliburton.
The media cant cover this up, no matter how much they want Obama... The Dems including Obama created this mess in the first place... Want proof, go to Bloomberg and search How the Democrats Created the Financial Crisis. or search for aSKSoiNbnQY0 on Bloomberg.
Also, the article by Kevin Hassett in Bloomberg noted that,
"Throughout his political career, Obama has gotten more than $125,000 in campaign contributions from employees and political action committees of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, second only to Dodd, the Senate Banking Committee chairman, who received more than $165,000. "
S.190 was a bill in 2005 which would've regulated Fannie Mae & Freddie Mac & prevented this financial meltdown.
However, according to Bloomberg . com
"the bill didn't become law, for a simple reason: Democrats opposed it on a party-line vote in the committee, signaling that this would be a partisan issue. Republicans, tied in knots by the tight Democratic opposition, couldn't even get the Senate to vote on the matter."
2005 don't you know history. Republicans controlled House, and Senate so Democrats were in MINORITY and if they really wanted to pass it they could have. So you just proved that Republicans are a failure with government.
I googled that and all the returns are right wing blogs so i call bullshit unless you can give out a speech by McCain warning and evidence of what happened to the bill.
I join as a cosponsor of the Federal Housing Enterprise Regulatory Reform Act of 2005, S. 190, to underscore my support for quick passage of GSE regulatory reform legislation. If Congress does not act, American taxpayers will continue to be exposed to the enormous risk that Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac pose to the housing market, the overall financial system, and the economy as a whole.
I urge my colleagues to support swift action on this GSE reform legislation.
So you see, McCain was one of those who tried to reform the regulations on Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. And don't say our financial crisis isn't Fannie and Freddie's fault. Alan Greenspan said in 2005 that if Fannie and Freddie ``continue to grow, continue to have the low capital that they have, continue to engage in the dynamic hedging of their portfolios, which they need to do for interest rate risk aversion, they potentially create ever-growing potential systemic risk down the road,''
His own political party in control and YET he COULD NOT GET IT DONE as a Senator.
Incompetence shouldn't be rewarded with a Promotion.
If he couldn't get things done before, this just proves he is NOT worthy of being President.
Remember 1999 when he voted FOR the deregulation that helped ruined the economy, why didn't he have the foresight, and judgement to NOT vote for that 1999 Bill that helped CAUSE this nightmare.
lol except republicans were in the majority in 2005. Idiots like are really, actually, going to try and turn around and say, that it's in fact republicans that wanted more regulation and it's somehow democrats fault.
McCain's promoters have carefully edited out of their McCain-for-president equation is his post-traumatic stress disorder.Depart of Defense psychiatrists evaluated McCain for PTSD several times, the results of which remain locked by privacy laws.PTSD develops after exposure to a terrifying event in which physical harm occurred/threatened.
An outcome of PTSD is a web of personal problems including difficulty in controlling intense emotions such as anger& inability to function well under stress.
McCain is a leader of the last century - before the internet, before blackberry, pro free-for-all deregulations that corporate america so advocated. he's not a bad person but he's just not a leader for the future. More importantly not a leader you'd want in a crisis (my head spinned just listening to his angry scapegoating and barking for just in time populist gimmick)
Agreed, I liked him when he was working against lobbyists and huge bills so large nobody could possibly read them before voting. What happened to that guy of 10 years ago?
McCain admits in his book that in 2000 he ran for personal ego rather than patriotism, guess that's the only consistency he has had for 10 years.
Why has the U.S goverment going after iraq and Iran?? I thought the goal was to get Bin laden?!! When did the leaders decide that the monsters behind 9/11 and numerous other heinous acts take a back seat to Iran??
This guy has been wrong on many of the most important subjects and events happening in and to our country right now. From Iraq to deregulation he's been wrong. We could have spent the nearly one trillion dollars we've spent in Iraq in our country. He's been a champion of deregulation on Wall Street from the time he's been in the Senate, and his chief economic adviser, Phil Gramm, wrote the laws that let this happen. Now he's telling us how he's going to clean up Wall Street is a joke. So is he.
Exactly. McCain & Arlen Specter have been the biggest proponents of de-regulation of the banking/lending industry. NOW these conservatives see what happens when you let lenders make profit without rules/restrictions. Its taken the government to basically nationalize these banks to keep the system from going under. You clowns still think capitalism is the end-all-be-all of economic systems? The greed factor of making a buck will force capitalism to collapse in on itself 1 day. LMBAO!
McCain is such a piece of shit. This fucker's been pushing for De-regulation for decades and NOW he's for regulation once it's blown up in his face. What a fucking slimy cocsucker.
YESSiR McCain was dead WRONG no wonder he suddenly changed from a deregulator to a regulator. This is one more reason why we should vote for Barack Obama '08
& your mama is a toothless hillbilly, now go back to sucking balls for your next meal, because the Republicans just spent your trailer park welfare check, yahoo.
Has anyone noticed how John McCain's eyes see more of the prompter than the eyes of the public?
I'm talking today(09-19-08). Things are happening fast..and either you know what you are talking about..or you have to read it! Obama doesn't seem to have that problem..he is sharp and well schooled!
McCain can't keep his eyes away for more than 3 words!!!If the prompter should break down..he would probably start talking about how being a POW will help him lead us through this crisis.
No mention of Halburton no-bid contracts (including Ike's FEMA ready-made meals), disappeared funds, or those of the Pentagon? No, instead a THREAT to MILITARIZE Wall-Street - as "financial terrorists"!!! One step at a time McCIAn, first outlaw "shorty's" - those TRAITORS who bet AGAINST THE CAPITALIST SYSTEM by thinking a stock might FALL in value! The new "for US or ag'in US" measure: WORLD UNIT AGAINST THIS FASCIST CONSPIRACY OF DOOM!!
I guess it refers back to the old Hitlerian proverb. And it goes along these lines. And please forgive me if the quote is not in it's exact words. "Lie to the people a million times, eventually, they'll believe them." The problem w/ McCain's lies is this. He says something that's not true, the American corporate media won't publicly refute any of his lies. The lies sticks & goes unchallenged, and Americans buys into the lies without them even researching the particular topics he lied about.
Welcome to the systematic raping of America by corporations and slimy politicians like McCain. I wish I could go to the casino and blow all my money and have the government give it all back to me the next day.
If you've voted Republican any time in the last 30 years, you've voted for deregulation. It doesn't feel so good now does it? The funny thing is, Republicans say let the free markets work. Well unless the free markets fail from greedy CEO's and corporate criminal executives.
Free market without government regulation is just economic anarchy. We already know the result in 1930s and someone want to repeat it again? Use some common sense. Shame on those politions and "economists" who sold their souls to big moneys.
the federal reserve CAUSED the great depression... The very same regulators offering up the solution and the ones that created the problem in the first place.
If you make above $250,000 a year and can afford to have your insurance, pensions, investments and securities take a 50% cut, then go right ahead and vote for McCain, but if you're like millions of other americans, then take a hard look at McCain's former financial adviser, Phil Gramm, and Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act of 1999 as well as Commodity Futures Modernization Act of 2000.
Thanks to these two pieces of legistlation, we are in a downward spiral of the market we might not recover from.
I can't wait to see the debates. I think America will finally realize that despite their fears and prejudices, Obama is the right candidate to pull America back to it's former greatness and beyond. Again, Obama's poll numbers are leading and now Palin's numbers are declining. I think after the debates, there will be no doubt who is better capable to represent the American people and this great nation. No more lies, No more Bush, No more Rupublican trash!!! Save America!!! Vote Obama/Biden 08'
are hiding from the fact the Bush was the captain. The GOP refuses to answer any direction questions. They respond with total BS and expect us to believe that McCain will now change his stripes. Enough is enough.
Last I checked, Congress (who, by the way, holds the purse strings and the power of legislation) is dominated by the Democratic Party. Do you even know how our government works?
How could anyone want this senile simple-minded man to lead our country? McPain and Failin are the biggest joke to ever run for president. He changes his tune every day. Every time Obama comes up with a plan, he copies it! They are just one lie after another. Any real patriot will vote for Obama, a brilliant man who can actually find solutions to our problems and lead us to a better future.
p.s. Mr. Happy. How can one vote independent? Maybe you can vote for the American Independent Party in some states, or you can vote for Ralph Nader who's running as an independent and you can register as an independent, but all that means is that you cannot vote in the two old party primaries.
I believe you meant, "Think Independent and vote accordingly."
In much the same way that the war in Iraq was ill-advised, the deregulation of the financial services industry was also ill-advised. The Republicans have morally and financially bankrupted this country and McCain and his rich-bitch wife and all their well to do friends should kneel and fucking beg their fellow countrymen for forgiveness. McCain fooled around on his first wife, Carol, with several other women including his current wife, Cindy. He's no hero of mine. He's a fucking fool.
you lose all credibility when you try and lay all of the countries problems on a single party or, as most, Bush. The fact is ALL our representatives have failed us. Wake up and smell the corruption in the democratic party!
The Republicans created this mess and are utter incapable of taking responsibility for this utter crisis. McCain's claim that he is going to clean up Wall Street and increase regulation is beyond outrageous, its simply lies and unfortunately some morons will believe it.
Last I checked, Congress (who, by the way, holds the purse strings and the power of legislation) is dominated by the Democratic Party. Do you even know how our government works?
That's true, but they've also faced down 77 successful Republican filibusters in those two years and have been hit with several presidential vetoes--Bush's only vetoes in his entire eight years in office. More importantly, Obama tried to introduce legislation to deal with the impending mortgage crisis two years ago. I agree that we can't completely blame one party, but the outdated Republican ideology is definitely causing a lot of the problems here. Time for a change.
Ah another Wingnut buffoon eh? If you had not realised the Democrats DO NOT dominate Congress or the Senate, they have a razor thin majority and have no ability to push through any changes in face of Republican resistence. No doubt you'll vote for 4 more years of corruption and utter incompetence under Republican rule.
You are one of those ideology > country morons aren't u?
the economy is collapsing right now due to the fed and fannie mae's easy loans. cdo's are why the investment houses are all failing. guess who was the second highest recipient of fannie donations? barky barky barky!!!
Phil Gramm - wrote legislation with the help of financial industry lobbyists that essentially removed newfangled financial products called swaps from any regulation.
(NOTE: Credit default swaps are at the heart of the subprime meltdown because they have enabled large financial institutions to turn risky loans into risky securities that could be packaged and sold to other institutions.)
Wow, I'll bet the Republicans are wishing to Satan (their true God) that they never coined the political phrase "Flip Flopper" right about now. Having the arch villains diabolical scheme back fire on him was always a fun moment for me as a child at the movies, it's even more fun as an adult.
This Dude has no idea and just makes shit up and goes with the flow. Then it comes back an attacks himself. Does this man still have his mind in order???
This is in remembrance of the campaign of john McCain. Lets remember the good times, like the celebrity ads, the lies about sex ed and pigs and who could for get "Boom Boom Boom on Iran". Good times, Good times. but sadly its over
That one's going to leave a big ol' bruise on McCain. Two things are obvious: McCain's a loyal Republican deregulator, and he's lying through his teeth right now. Neither of those are popular stances right now.

or type in the following link without all the spaces:

MORE GOP BS
The GOP sank this ship and now they
are hiding from the fact the Bush was the captain. The GOP refuses to answer any direction questions. They respond with total BS and expect us to believe that McCain will now change his stripes. Enough is enough.
God save America from the GOP!

Will somebody please throw this guy a clue?

Vote Independent!!
mrhappy01 3 years ago
The Republicans created this mess and are utter incapable of taking responsibility for this utter crisis. McCain's claim that he is going to clean up Wall Street and increase regulation is beyond outrageous, its simply lies and unfortunately some morons will believe it.

mrhappy01 3 years ago
That's true, but they've also faced down 77 successful Republican filibusters in those two years and have been hit with several presidential vetoes--Bush's only vetoes in his entire eight years in office. More importantly, Obama tried to introduce legislation to deal with the impending mortgage crisis two years ago. I agree that we can't completely blame one party, but the outdated Republican ideology is definitely causing a lot of the problems here. Time for a change.
ihfek 3 years ago 2
Ah another Wingnut buffoon eh? If you had not realised the Democrats DO NOT dominate Congress or the Senate, they have a razor thin majority and have no ability to push through any changes in face of Republican resistence. No doubt you'll vote for 4 more years of corruption and utter incompetence under Republican rule.
You are one of those ideology > country morons aren't u?

Phil Gramm - wrote McCain's economic plan.

That one's going to leave a big ol' bruise on McCain. Two things are obvious: McCain's a loyal Republican deregulator, and he's lying through his teeth right now. Neither of those are popular stances right now.
