Well part of Cousins problem is, back then on his triple axel, he would just rotate off of his heal and get very little hieght. Not unlike what Tara Lipinski did on her double axels. A skater is suppose to STEP UP into the jump then do the rotations, not turn into the other direction and start rotating. I do have to admit he is one of my favorite skaters, to never get a world or an olympic medal! Those judges are haters when it comes to charasmatic skaters!
you are right and the comparison with Tara Lipinski is just perfect, but you have to admit that beyond the wrong tecnique this is his best triple axel ever
I LOVED Millot, but that was better, CLEARLY! And I can't believe Taturov finished ahead of him either. Hell, Even Candelo was lucky considering his pathetic basics.
I'd have had Cousins behind Urmanov, Stojko, and MAYBE Davis, but 4th at the very least! Sad
Absolutely disgusting marking for a fabulous performance. Why did they always mark him down? He should definitely have made the final group for the Free with this display. Steven, we will never forget what you did for British skating. Thanks Spence, what about British Nationals 89 Ladies now? That should get the ball rolling.
I don't see where they got 5.2s when he skated a perfect and technically top quality program. I had the same scores as the Romanian judge: 5.6 R.E., 5.7 P
