Nice subject. I forgot I was supposed to be judging a phone. I ditched my Sensation because of poor audio recording quality. Hard to find a GS2 recording w/ voice. I hope it's better than the quiet staccato of Sensation.

@proteanview the audio is pretty good sensitivity wise - I't does well at picking up ambient noise like birds / dogs barking in the distance etc and is very clear (that's my scientific phone testing measurement method!). I'm generally very happy with it. One thing not so good about the audio is that it distorts severely with loud sounds like noisy crowds and loud music concerts... Message to Samsung - audio AGC. It can't be that hard.

@theunsunghero420 Not really - there is always a slight lag between reality and the screen when recording (probably less than 0.25 seconds) but this isn't usually noticeable unless you are waving your hand in front of the camera... and you'll see the same effect on many digital video cameras. As for playback , its pretty good - I get the odd stutter, but that may be my 3 year old laptop not keeping up. The video is brilliant playing directly on my series 7 Samsung plasma though.

I'm thinking to buy that phone, but i wonder if that's a yt codec problem or the phone.

Unfortunately there are no focus options with video recording - You are stuck with auto focus always on so there is some focus hunting evident. Samsung feature request: touch to focus in video mode or at least fixed focus would be nice. (I suspect Samsung aren't listening but its worth a try!)

CaptainCalamityClam the swans are great as long as they aren't stealing your lunch while you're taking pictures! I'm very happy with the SGS2. My wife had an iphone 3gs before the SGS2 & she's happy too, except when something doesn't work as expected! She's used to the simplicity of the iphone IOS. As for the iphone app store vs the android market, you can usually find similar applications on both so unless you're looking for something very iphone specific, the android market is great!
