  • @Carycomic Historicaly speaking, whatever became of the Arizona Rangers? Were they disbanded or did they, like the Texas Rangers, become part of- or are - the state police/troopers?

  • This version of the theme (the original used in the TV series), was done by Hal Hopper. I used to have a 45 of this theme in its complete form, on red vinyl. Hopper also did the original theme for another western TV series, "COLT 45".

  • Tris Coffin as Captain Tom Rynning finally got to play the good guy in this series after all of those Monogram westerns with Johnny Mack Brown where he played the dress heavy (leader of the gang). Russell Hayden the producer of 26 men had been "Lucky" in the Hopalong Cassidy westerns and Kelo Henderson, a real life six gun expert, later co-starred with Broderick Crawford on Highway Patrol.

  • I remember watching this show when i was a kid. It was one of the best ones on.

  • Always loved the theme song - glad to hear it again. As a native Arizonan, it was fun to have an Arizona show.

  • Thanks for posting this. I was just a kid when this was on TV. It was a good show. It was filmed right here in the Valley of the Sun (that's in Arizona). I remember visiting the set and meeting several of the actors but I was to young to remember who they were.

  • This came on in New York City right at my bedtime. I used to hear the great theme song and wish I could stay up a little longer.

  • i did a power point project on this show!

  • Hmmmm, "This is a true story, only the names have been changed to protect the innocent."

Now did they get that from Jack Webb, or did he get that from them?

  • i got to meet Kelo Henderson! he sometimes comes over to our house and we do bbq's. he is SO cool! :D he's like my best friend. right now he is 85. he will be 86 in august.

  • My mother was an actress in this show. Kelo Henderson was her boyfriend in real life. Once, he shot a rattlesnake from between my legs when I was 5. I was on the set of the show a few times and met Tris Coffin.

  • My Dad played "Pete Martin" on this show.

  • Well, I'm blowed! I haven't seen this for 50 years, but I could still remember the lyrics. Thanks for this!

  • I remember seeing this on a religious channel - ACTS, which I believe would later become the Hallmark Channel - during the 1980's. Just 26 rangers for such a large plot of land?

  • Greetings from Arizona. Yes, only 26 Rangers were employed here back in the Day.

  • This series was shot at Cudia City in Phoenix,AZ

  • Ah, dude. You ain't got it quite right. They rode out to answer duty's call, not booty call. That word wasn't in our vocabulary back in 1957.

  • Believe it or not, we get 26 Men on a local station, WVUA out of Tuscaloosa.

I have been burning them to disc and showing them to my grandson, who dearly loves the old black and white westerns.

  • HoughsVideos, can you please upload the ending credits to "26 Men"? Thank you.

  • I do not remember this one, I do not think we had this in Aussie - anyone know.

  • I think this song was also used for a Japanese anime series in the 1950s or 1960s.

  • I remember this show being on WGPR-TV 62 Detroit in the early 80s. I would just watch the opening credits because it was cool. Thanks for the clip.

  • I Don't Like Westerns Except For Daniel Boone,Gunsmoke

,Zorro,Jesse James,Wagon Train,The Rifleman,Wanted Dead Or Alive,The Big Valley And Alias Smith And Jones

  • Thanks for this..I remember watching this as a child fond memories.
