I can remember Owen MD being shown in the early 70s but I never understood why at the end it always said "Part 11 Tomorrow". This music was also used later on in the 70s in a St Ivel yoghurt advert.
It must be significant that this music always seems to remind people of some pleasant time in their life. It shows that it evokes something within the human spirit, something deep and universal, a sort of yearning for some blissful wholeness and tranquility some time somewhere in our past, in our psyche and in our eternal spirit.
it took me years! to find the name of this song...since i never knew the name, i just named it as "calm" on my iPod, which is how it makes me feel. i love this song!

this makes me want to be 8 years old again, back in the days of a full compliment of family members, aunts and uncles all of which have now passed away.
Butlins in the early 70's used to play this as their last track at night over the tannoy. By the way, it's not the Onedin LIne theme tune: that was the love theme from Spartacus, I think.
@wnesbitt1 This always reminds me of Pontins funnily enough and my Great Grandad....Middleton Towers near Morecambe 1972 & 1973...they always played this in a morning to wake you up !!!
Thank you for putting this gorgeous piece of music on YouTube. We had the 7" vinyl single of this in the house when I was a child and I loved it so much, I stole it when I left home! I still have it but have nothing to play it on. It's one of those tracks that makes me emotional, brings tears to my eyes and still evokes the same images in my head that it did when I was a child. Thank you so much.

Che dire di questa meravigliosa musica? Non appartiene a questo mondo sembra infinita, irraggiungibile!!!
La escuchaba de niño y me hacía soñar, volar y enamorarme del futuro. Hoy continúa a hacerme soñar! Gracias de corazón pianoplaylist también tu tienes un inmenso sentimiento.
I agree with what you wrote in Italian. The music I have shared here is infinite, unreachable, and out of this world!

Wonderful tune. To me, this was the "theme tune" of Butlin's holiday camps.
It was played over the Tannoy's at 8am every morning. :)

Far too romantic to have been used as the theme for a programme about a country doctor. Still, that's life I suppose!
