Alfonzo had so much heat, mainly because of his initial introduction into ECW as the "trouble shooting" referee who was gonna clean up ECW. Taz in I think 1995 was prolly the most hated guy in the company mainly because he was with Alfonzo. He wasn't a promo guy like Heenan (who in my opinion was the best ever) or Cornette, but his character was so over in ECW that they wanted to kill him. In an age when everyone knows it's a work, that takes talent.
