Anyone know offhand how many of these GIT Spotlight videos there are? I've only been able to find a couple though I'd love to hear more (GIT Spotlight or just more of the players featured).
Young guitar magazine is the best guitar mag out there! too bad its Japanese. They get artists from Japan (well known and lesser known ones) as well as guitarist form around the world and have awesome videos like that.
damn so good haruhisa guy this guy post as well I wanna rock like this man.(unfortunately not really my style it's more classical but still damn make feel untalented damn you.well I was a failure to start with lol jk.)
these guys play by melodies which is contrast to most youtubers (that play by memorizing scale positions and not notes them self) i was thinking about how they do this.. and after research and help from other guitarists i found out that muscle memory will not get you any farther is so very long. try to play looking at a fretboard as a place of notes with sound equivalent and not as a box full of scale points which is a lot of mentors teach..WRONG WAY. i greatly suggest MASTER THE FRETBOARD KEYS
yea I get what you mean(all of that stuff you brought up the teacher I agree a lot from friends cause I can play twice as good or maybe 10 -50).... but what do you mean by melodies? I don't really understand that.... and the fretboard keys ??? and so your saying scales are not worth learning (good thing I didn't start XD).?
sorry I'm not to smart when I have a headache well I wasn't smart to start with anyways jk but if you can clear that up please I would greatly apprecaite it=).
oh mate..i was talking about those positions. the scale is vital, very vital.. if and only if you know the keys in it.. but not knowing will fall down again to the category of "playing by scales" not "playing by melody." its like a baby. when a child tries to learn to read it uses eyes and ear while reading a book.. that is how you will play a guitar IMO. read the fretboard like reading a book..to fully understand one must practice by looking at the key and memorizing the sound will follow
so wat your saying is to better train your ears etc and just have that feel and the sounds produced by fretting etc?
I really just like the way I said it correct me if I'm still missing something plz or that's nothing wat you meant and if so I'll figure it out sooner or later.
absolutely yes.. don't jump on doing the speed licks, won't get you anywhere..try to master the fretboard like playing a piano...anyways you seem very interested on this.. that is good. and if you are, leave me a message to my inbox. i will make sure you will never regret this. i love helping other guitarist who likes to think out of the box.
yea I know that much :D woot go me so where do I start ...probably using my ears and eyes and etc...but say I'm good at that stuff(already am)....where do I start next? do I start technical stuff or more of a say composing music type thing? or something I haven't said.
and I really appreciate your help I wanna become better say like this guy in the vid (above somewhere) I just love guitar so I wanna at least try and continue that as maybe a career or something but again thnx (I love guitar =) )
well, this is just my honest opinion there's not much anything to it. there's some guys that ask me these kind of stuff, but i always tell them the same thing over and over again. learn the process and how its made. and not jump into improvisation.
better to do the music first rather than improvisation before knowing the music. IMHO.
nah, its not an espFR-II, its the ESP horizon III, its got the different head to prove it and all....the FR-II has all the strings attached to one side of the guitar, this one has 3 and 3!!!
Sorry i dont understand where in my comment i stated its hard to enjoy complicated music, i myself am a big fan of tech death like arsis and spawn of possession, but in the end if i dont like how it sounds i dont like it, complicated or not.
Regardless of the fact you like melo-death which in my eyes is one step off of emo you shouldn't have typed that sentence using about 15 full stops at the end just to emphasise how much of a cock you're being about the music.
I simply pointed out that you were talking about it being how it sounds not how hard it is. Well I do agree, I listen to a lot of classical and a lot of doom/death/black metal also, so yeah it has to sound good. Nothing about this song sounds bad to me.
Oh you can fuck off too if you have nothing worthwhile to say. Stop being such a troll? I was only defending the fucking song. What's your purpose of posting? Just to add fuel to the fire you fucking idiot.
To make you shut up and put the flame out altogether. Now you can choose to reply to this post like a little bitch who needs to get the last word, but remember this-- arguing in the internet is like being in the special Olympics; even if you win, you're still a fucking loser.
Contradiction. How can you make such a statement without realising you are also included, not to mention the fact the arguement had nothing to do with you to begin with. You can claim that arguing over the internet is for losers but then it really is a matter of opinion. I'm sure that 90% of people with an internet connection can and will defend something over the internet that they like, be it a song, game, movie, whatever. Oh and next time find your own phrase, not one you stole online! LOSER!
Stupid, stupid fuck. I wasn't trying to start an argument with you. I told you to shut the fuck up to avoid spamming the comment boxes which you and I are doing right now.
This is your opportunity to get the last word. Have fun being a "philosopher" troll though.
I'd love to know one quote of anything that I've written that proves I'm stupid. As for not starting an arguement with me, you must be fucking stupid yourself to not foresee the fact that I'm the type of person that will type back, especially if you direct shit to my fucking hotmail inbox.
Oh by the way you didn't tell me to shut up you said "quit being such a fucking troll, fag." which is basically just an insult. Thought you could insult and get away with it? Well now who's the fucking idiot?
okay this guy is awesome but i sense he is using alot of pentatonic licks cause i see not a lot of use of the 2nd finger when hes picking. Oh and nice sweeps
Anyway, I think the similarities between these guitarists could have to do with the fact that they all have the same H&K and Marshall amps to use, they're playing in the same room with the same micing, and they all have pre-recorded backing tracks. The songs in themselves are rather different from eachother.
Whats with all the racisism? Cant anyone just listen to the music?
If its good music, which this is (even though Ryota Kogure is my least favorite of all the Spotlight demos, then people should just listen and shut up. And americans dont suck, its just that asian artists are coming out way more than anyonw else nowadays.

i was impressed by takayoshi, excited about mamoru, and then on this guy i realize they are all the same exact guitarist. same style, same licks, cept takayoshi is much faster than the others. its kinda lame that this git just pumps out clones of the teacher.
Haruhisa Duran Naito? what about him? Mamoru isnt anything special. And saying that they are the same product is ignorant and you need to take up guitar. Takayoshi is amazing. And his speed isnt what makes him good. ignorance at its finest ladies and gentlemen.
you're really exagerating what you call ignorance. They all come from the same school and all play shred guitar in the same style with the same kinds of licks. how ignorant is it of me to notice these things? their phrasing is all very similar. and btw i do in fact play guitar and know plenty. Typical youtuber you are...

the full stops was a joke. How was i being a cock by stating i listen to music not because of how technical it is but how it sounds.
Arsis melo-death yeah, but spawn of posession are far from melo-death, imo they walk all over most tech death bands.
I like this song aswell so pointless argument really.
The only reason i commented in the first place was to imply that we should appreciate music whether it be played by Jason Becker or by philip glass.
