My son's very favorite group when he was growing up in Hawai`i. I am so blessed that I was able to make it possible for him to grow up among such beauty -- including beautiful people. I think it set him on a wonderful life path. Aloha.

@claysadventures Yhat vioce is Malani Bileu. Yes. an incredible voice. He has been a big part of Kalapana, but there will never be another like Mackey Feary.
Ahhhhhh,,,,,,,,, wonderful beautiful days living in Hawaii in my youth in the 70's. Lots of talented groups like Kalapana, Aliis, Olomana, C and K, and the like; none of the Jawaiian stuff like today. This was music and memories. Never will those days return. I'm glad I was there to live it. It's no longer that way now . . .
I lived on Awalai street in Waipahu from 1979 t0 1988..to Chester, Mike, Clifton, John and the rest of the gang this music is classic and always brings me back home. To Nora my love is always and forever...

What a great memory - thanks so much! Never heard this live version but they were so amazing, so much a part of my growing up in Hawaii, especially teen years. Used to play this on the ukulele... Hawaiian radio station still plays it here in California, 30 years later!
I'll try to find out but it's not a California station - it's a station based on Honolulu that my boyfriend listens to via the internet and streaming live radio...
The local Sacramento station he tried listening to wasn't as good.
you start realizing all the natural things that comes within..imagine.. looking outside ur patio the sun sets and you can hear the sounds of the waves..you cant control your tears...knowing one day your family or your love one might not be around. your past is as great as your future life is great lets just enjoy the moment, NATURALLY.
close your eyes , picture yourself up tantlus looking out over the city , with naturally playing in the background with the sun going down in the distant, red hair bud joint in hand. awesome yea bruddahs ?
