@SumJ23 i read the book and the part i remember wanting to cry the most was animal cruelty. but i can imagine some sad moment with the main character ... forgot his name. .. how he got old before he knew it. and how he finally got to do something with the circus again... how humble he was to take a position at a ticket booth.

I liked the film generally speaking, and Pattinson shows he can act rather well, and finally a Continental European actor is gaining traction in Hollywood movies ... but I think Witherspoon was not the right casting. She feels like a 'solid-name, second choice'. Even though i am not a great fan of Scarlett Johanssen I think she would have been much more convincing and engaging in THIS role. They should have kept her. Just my opinion anyways ...

Brilliant film, cannot wait until it comes out on DVD. Just ordered the book, hope it's as good as the movie :) Have always loved rob pattinson but I didn't even realise how much of a good actor he is until I saw this :) One of my favourite films <3

Rob's acting deff. improved since 'Remember Me'.....Reese looked aboslutely beautiful she looked like Jean Harlow with a touch of Grace Kelly and Christoph Waltz was fantastic (he deserves to be nominated again)

I absolutely loved this movie , it's sad , sweet , romantic and scary all at once . I was never a fan of R Patz before but after seeing him in this movie I think he did a excellent job and I agree with some other users he's wasted in the twilight movies. Christophe Waltz is a brilliant villain who plays a nasty , cruel character very well and Rese Witherspoon is well suited as the love interest.

@deniserivera23 It is a love story but not entirely, because it takes you through the life of the main character. It is a fitting title because the characters are part of a traveling circus. There is also a line in the book that depicts the title "Water for Elephants" but it is definitely not about the animal itself.

For animals in circuses, there is no such thing as "positive reinforcement"—only varying degrees of punishment and deprivation. The same goes for animals used in Hollywood. Disgust.
