Like others have commented, I couldn't care less who wrote any song Elvis sang, but I think credit should have been given to Elvis as co-writer here. That POS Red West's reputation is pretty well known as it is, so I highly doubt the story that E came up with *just* the title for the song.

Elvis was so very sad when he read your book.Later you gave your reasons for writing the book but personally I don't believe you.During the interview with the press you seemed frightened and confused .The shades you wore that day didn't help much....your eyes betrayed you...you were scared and you felt guilty..You could have helped Elvis in numerous ways but definately not by smearing and belittling him.May God help you for what you have done to your kin.

I've always been such a huge fan of this very spectacular song. This song was written by Elvis' longtime friend and bodyguard Red West. The other songs that Elvis recorded that were written by Red West were "You'll Be Gone", "If You Think I Don't Need You", "If Every Day Was Like Christmas", "I've Been Blue", "Mary Lou Brown", "It's No Fun Being Lonely", "Holly Leaves And Christmas Trees", "Seeing Is Believing", "Separate Ways" and "If You Talk In Your Sleep".
