  • Like others have commented, I couldn't care less who wrote any song Elvis sang, but I think credit should have been given to Elvis as co-writer here. That POS Red West's reputation is pretty well known as it is, so I highly doubt the story that E came up with *just* the title for the song.

  • such a purely beautiful song only the king of rock and roll elvis presley could do this one justce as only he could do with his voice!!!!

  • who cares who wrote the song or got credit, the important thing is he sang it , and us fans got a chance to hear it,

  • A very beautiful song and the pictures of "E" are outstanding!

  • its not who wrote it but who sings the song that makes it great

  • Red West , are you happy now? Elvis was so very sad when he read your book.Later you gave your reasons for writing the book but personally I don't believe you.During the interview with the press you seemed frightened and confused .The shades you wore that day didn't help much....your eyes betrayed you...you were scared and you felt guilty..You could have helped Elvis in numerous ways but definately not by smearing and belittling him.May God help you for what you have done to your kin.

  • I love listening to this, his voice was amazing. Thank you

  • Elvis hun, it is you we are thinking of when we listen to this song, That Someone will will never forget. We love and miss you so much.

  • @rosechris48 AMEN

  • Guys, does it matter who wrote it. The main fact is that it was laid down by E and just listen to the harmonies in his voice. I dont give a cX*p who wrote it. For me it is the way the special lyrics are delivered

  • The sound of his voice was at its peak in 1961, and within 1961 it peaked here.

  • @MertonHayford You're absolutely right ! I've been a fan since 1957 and have often said Elvis was at his very best (in every way)1960 through 1962. Even the great Jordanaires said the early 60s was his best, and they would know better than anyone.

  • Thank you Dear Jackie you have the most beautiful ballads ELVIS ever did. E was born to sing Lisa is too I wish she would do I'll remember you with her dad as a duet. I know that song would be an absolute wonder. Thanks again Love Take care. Hugs Bobbie

  • A haunting kind of song.

  • Damn this song hit the nail on the head with what happened with me with a girl i met from Europe shit the funny thing is that i've heard this song before but now it really means something to me

  • justicejayant, I guess Elvis wrote it for his mother in her memory. is a beautiful song and you can see his soul as his blue eyes, through his soft voice.

  • What a beautiful song this is and what a voice Elvis has. Great gives me the shivers and makes me HAPPY

  • We won't ever forget the KING ELVIS!!!!!!!!

  • ELVIS IS SOME ONE WE WILL NEVER FORGET

  • That's Someone You Never Forget" is a song co-written by Elvis Presley in 1961, which appeared as the closing track on his 1962 album, Pot Luck. It was written by Elvis Presley with his bodyguard Red West and based upon an idea and title by Presley himself.[1] Red West recalled the songwriting collaboration with Elvis: '"That's Someone You Never Forget" was a title that came from Elvis. He said, "How about coming up with a song with the title of "That's Someone You Never Forget"?

  • they say it takes a minute to find a special person, an hour to appreciate them, a day to love them, but an entire life to forget them, i,ll never forget ELVIS and my first true love JUNE GILL. Heres to the next life when i,see you both there.

  • @2012sam heres to the next life, where you'll find replacements

    (Roland Stefandal. Enough said.)

  • I will never ever forget Elvis, he is someone I shall never ever forget. I will Love you always....Jessie xxxxxx

  • written by Red West for Elvis, as a tribute to Elvis' mother Gladys. This is according to Elvis sat. radio

  • Elvis proves he could write a decent song if he wanted to.

  • @andyjohnD Elvis Presley did not write this song, it was who in the later years of his life that became a traitor to him, Red Wes that wrote the song.

  • I dedicate this song to Elvis. Elvis is someone I will not ever forget. Elvis is in my heart to stay. Special special man. I love Elvis.

  • one of the best elvis songs

  • we never forget how elvis touch our hearts with his songs ......... he was so special .....:)

  • Will never forget you Elvis.......NEVER!

  • Red West, you should not have written that horrid book! I will not ever read it.

  • @BarbaraLois Yeah I know I wish they wouldn't have written that book I read it but don't believe it either but I was not there so Ican't say one way or another but supposedly they wrote it to TRY to save elvis from his addiction to drugs but like I said IDK that's what I read somewhere I think lol but I'm w/u they shouldn't have wrote that book it was sad when he died but if he would've seen that book there's no telling what would've happened.

  • That song is so haunting! So beautiful! And those eyes, lips and hair, OMG what a lost. He could give you a grin that would melt your heart or make you believe you were the most special person in the world. His love for his fans was reflected through his performance. People felt they were part of his life whether they knew him or not.. Miss him!

  • Thank you Red West for this song, written by him, special request from elvis about his mother. Great song.

  • Nope, you and jackiej61too are mistaking, it was written by Elvis, but Elvis had gave credit to Red West because he had advised him for writing this song, Elvis is credited as writer for this song too.

  • @justicejayant Elvis has NEVER written a song in his life.

  • @justicejayant Elvis created the title of the song because he thought about his mother, so he asked Red West to write a song about the title.

  • ELVIS ELVIS great song sung by a great singer !

  • JUNE, if you read this I will never forget you. I should have asked the question, then it would have been so different. Thanks JACKIEJ61TOO for the memories.

  • For you Ian .xxxxxx

  • This song has made me cry ...Its my all time favourite by this man .........

Chilling ..........Reminds me of being very young ...

  • They say it takes a minute to find a special person, A n hour to appreciate them, A day to love them, but an entire life to forget them! I'll never forget JUNE GILL! My first true love. I'll see you in the next life. Thanks JackieJ61too for the memories.

  • Golden voice with the most awesome touch...thanks jackie...

  • What colour were Elvis' eyes?

Sometimes they look ice-blue, other times they look dark blue.

Still other times they appear green.

In publicity stills they were clearly painted brown. Hate it when they put that red make-up on him.

His natural look is best: pale skin, light brown hair, blue eyes, no eye shadow.

Although he's so gosh-darn handsome, even under all that pancake and hair dye, he's still swoon-making!

  • Elvis had the most amazing magnetic navy blue eyes which had a quality which could see thru your very soul! He had to use certain make up not that he ever needed any he was simple too perfect but had too for the cameras those days. Dont these clowns were so much today and we do have better lens!!

By the way he hardly used pancake as you term it where did you get you poor knowledge?? when you werent around him how could you know!!

  • Elvis always sang every song from his heart. Elvis is a brilliant and talented man. Elvis should be very proud of everything he did. I love everything about Elvis not just the entertainer but Elvis the man. Beautiful soul, beautiful man. All of Elvis' work are classics that will not ever be repeated by no one. I Love Elvis with all my heart.

  • The ultimate love song!

  • You ever notice how you hang on every word he sings..You never have to question what the words are( you hear them )...Unlike alot of music of today...Elvis' music he took pride in, and strived to be the best..Mission completed my friend..YTR

  • You are so right there, and have summed up what i feel, you do hang on to every word he sings, each note he sings is perfection, so beautiful, so full of meaning, it leaves me, well, words fail me,

  • ZAJEBISTE!!!!!!!!!!

  • Yeeeeesssss, RIP Elvis. Thanks :)

  • Beautiful song.Many thanks.

  • I've always been such a huge fan of this very spectacular song. This song was written by Elvis' longtime friend and bodyguard Red West. The other songs that Elvis recorded that were written by Red West were "You'll Be Gone", "If You Think I Don't Need You", "If Every Day Was Like Christmas", "I've Been Blue", "Mary Lou Brown", "It's No Fun Being Lonely", "Holly Leaves And Christmas Trees", "Seeing Is Believing", "Separate Ways" and "If You Talk In Your Sleep". I loved this video immensely, 10*.

  • I love this song it is so beautiful!

  • It has been said that Elvis recorded this for his mother. It is a very haunting and beautiful song. Thanks for posting.

  • Written by Red West. Elvis recorded it June 25, 1961 at RCAs Nashville studios. Six years later, the single release spent one week on the Hot chart at #92. It was the B-side to Long Legged Girl (with the Short Dress On). It is available on Pot Luck, From Nashville to Memphis: The Essential 60s Masters, and Artist of the Century.
