  • JOE MONDELLO would be very proud of you.......I am too you just taken a smooth a silk running engine and made it even smoother!.....bad ass my friend love it!

  • this should have been done a long time ago, if this concept was utilized GM would have still have been a global powerhouse, this proves U can still have musle and torque with economy fuel milage.

  • Ha, nice to know that your camera amplifies the sound of the fuel pump too =P Looks good.

  • Nice job. I was considering going the easier route of throttle-body set-up, not planning to race the car in competition I thought it would be very streetable and knock down better mileage than carbureted. Where did you connect the return fuel line- are you using a cell or stock tank? Thanks for the post.

  • Awesome. Beats mine to pieces.

  • Congratulations on a beautiful job.

  • this is a really great job. I can see you put in a good amount of time. Congrats on the final product. Which EFI system did you use? Was there a specific part #? Just curious. I just got my hands on a 455 and lucky for me it starts right up with no problems. I threw in some synthetic oil and detergents and it sounds even nicer with a smooth idle until I open up the carb. Where do you recommend I go to look for upgrade parts? I appreciate any help and positive comments, thanks.

  • man that sounds nice.

  • what did you use for signal pick up? is it worth going through the headache going to fuel injection?

  • i dont know if i would like that fuel set up on old school Oldsmobile's motors. your sounds nice tho, but to each their own. plus i know that original fuel/carb setup so well. but i love the look it has, and your valve covers are off the chain man! love them! nice build friend!

  • Were the heads etched Befpore or after the chrome was put on? I am going to etch mine differently but wondered if I can etch them already chromed

  • @VDragulaV I meant valve covers. only took me 8 months to notice that.

  • ok, i just went to your page and damn thats nice. i had a 70 coupe. nowhere near as nice as that. i would have raced you though. it wasnt pretty but it had some ass to it.

  • what the hell is it in?

  • Very nice!!! I'm envious!!!! Great work!

  • that is absolutely gorgous sir. master fab skills! A+

  • Looks Great! Sounds Great! Hoping to do that on my Olds 455 here soon!

  • best 455 i've seen boss

  • Love the valve covers. Very nice.

  • That thing must have unreal throttle response and low end punch with that injection set up.I am considering injection also, mostly for dependability, peace.

  • Cool, but i prefer a good old carb without all that fancy crap.

  • beautiful sound!

  • dude siiiiiiiiiick

  • nice

  • What kind of horsepower are torque are you putting out? Was the computer a megasquirt system? What did you use as far as sensors go?

  • okay i have a 1970 455 in my 83 Hurst Olds and im thinking about fuel injection. Did you make that kit or what company did you order it from? Have you dyno'd it? Im looking at the holley commander 950 tbi fuel injection kit, do you know anything about it? I have no computer at all in my car, would this effect an efi kit installation? any info would help so much! thanks, chase b

  • Summit racing offers the holley TBI 670 CFM 2 barrel thats a standalone unit. Comes with the computer, wiring harness, and sensors. I'm not sure about injectors though, you may need to size them before you buy them

  • Awesome job! That engine runs smooth as silk.Hats off to you!

  • I drove nothing but oldsmobile starting in 76, though the cars were earlier in age. Love the special sound an Olds has. Could never be mistaken with any other sound.

  • Smoooooth!

  • Air clener is loose!

  • a fuel injected olds 455-who'da thunk it.much props

  • got a lot of room in that engine compartment! lookin good too!

  • Beautiful motor! They should have fuel injected those puppies when they first came out with the oil crisis looming. Can you run that motor on E-85 ethanol?

  • You mean back in the day? They only had mechanical fuel injection. The computer needed to control that engine in ~1970 would fill up the entire trunk!

  • What about the mechanical direct fuel injection they used in the bel air, corvette, and boneville from 1957 to 1967?

  • thats badd

  • right at startup i heard a little tapping but sounds good

  • I think fuel Injection takes away from the beautiful sound of a carburated motor.

  • nice digital injection, but yeah a carb makes it sound soooooooooooooo much better

  • Is the reason it doesn't have that rough idle most high performance V8s have because it's fuel injected?

  • not naturally aspirated/not a rough idle cam

  • sweet, I could listen to that all day, lol

  • i think you should ditch the gay valve covers and get original olds rocket ones

  • Does it get better or worse power and efficiency than stock with a carbeurator?

  • electronic Fuel injection is almost always more efficient & powerful(if the cfm is the same) than carbs.

  • and it's tuned correctly

  • yep! What yr Z28 do you have?

  • 94 6M... 13.8's with hypertech program, hurst shifter and flowmaster (muffler only).

  • Zaratok Cutlass never came with a 307 any year.... SHOW ME ONE not even F85. chevy used 307 like pre 1972

  • That you are wrong about dude, better do some more research.

  • Mid 80's the Olds 307 became the only V8 option. There are millions of them out there.

The Olds 307 has the same stroke as the other Olds V8's (3.385) but has a smaller bore.

A Chevy 307 is a de-stroked 327, that uses the 283 crank and has the bore of the 327.

    Both engines were turds.

  • bluefin4425, you don't know what you are talkin' about...The Chevy 307 has the same stroke as the 327 (3.25") but with a smaller bore (3.875" like the 283). A 283 crank which has a 3.00" stroke in a 327 block which has a 4.00" bore is a 302 like Chevy put in Camaros between '67 and '69 which was an awesome motor...

  • Okay. Then why is there a 1987 Cutlass Supreme sitting on the side of the road by my back yard that i'm using for my big block 455 project that has a stock 307 olds 4 bbl in it?

  • Most post 1980 v8 Cutlasses had 307 Olds engines. It was a 5 liter version of a 350 Olds that phased out the Olds 260 v8. I had an 87 rear drive Canadian built Cutlass with a 307 Olds. These Olds engines are also commonly found in the big 80-85 rear drive Olds 88,98 and big rear drive Buicks from 80-85 also 80-85 Toronaos and Rivieras. This Olds engine was also used in big rear drive Cadillacs from 86 to 90. These engines are very reliable but not the preferred performance Olds engine.

  • as if you haven't had enough responses... yeah I have ridden in an 84 Cutlas 307 4bbl many times. We couldn't even blow it up propperly @ wot in park... just wanted to overheat... didn't flow enough to throw a rod or anything cool. lol

  • We had a 307 throw a rod in auto tech a few days ago. Junky motor

  • 84 Cutlass came with a 307, not a 305.

  • Unless it was made in Canada, then it came with a 305.

  • it's quiet, too quiet

  • That engine sounds really nice.

  • Well then. If you want more HP / Efficiency, replace the rear bumper with a lighter one, install an electric cooling fan(s), Take the AC out, along with the condenser. You can also remove the wheel wells for another 60 pounds.

  • Sounds great how much did you pay for the whole TPI package???

  • I hand built the entire intake, including welding the runners. The ECU is hand soldered and tuned.

  • Very, very nice. Always wondered how the fuel injected would run vs. carb. Love the valve covers.

  • i like ur valve covers were did u get em?

  • The valve covers were custom engraved.

  • Very nice!

I'm in the process of building a dual-quadded (I prefer tuning with a screwdriver) and massively built 455 for my '66 F-85 Towne Sedan. Shooting for around 600hp.

  • i love my 84 cutlass with my 305 =)

  • dude what model are you working on? I'm currently finishing up stuffing a 455 in a 61 olds dyn where a 394 once sat. so far, is been a real pain. but I hope its worth the trouble.

  • Not to many 61 Olds' left...Might as well butcher another one?

  • well there was not much left in the old engine. I couldn't let my first car and baby die like that, so I decided to give it new life. I've had it running for about a month now, and it rocks. I'm looking for ideas to build more power. any suggestions? it is .30 over, matched edelbrock cam, intake, and 750 carb, lighter aluminium pistons and dual flowmaster 50s.
