As a roofing contractor I laugh at this video. There are hundreds of roof coatings on the market and they're all junk. Building owners have buyers remorse after the first year of having this crap installed. Then they call me to do it right.

Master Elite GAF status is no guarantee. The contractor used a ringer crew. Note the flashing in the dumster. The ringes threw it out then came back and broke the shylights with another flashing try. The original contractor told me he does not know their name and says there is just a small leak, that needs flashing.

I don't know where to begin....this sort of "fix" is pissing money away. I wouldn't do business with a client that wanted this type of nonsense. The building owner would be money ahead to just have a "tune up" done (recement all details, cut & 3 course any blistering and coat any leaking alligatoring) then have leaks repaired as they happen.

A "tune up" could be done for $6,000 to $7,000 on that building whereas this crap system would run $25,000 minimum and the results are the same...

epdm is landfill in the waiting, works ok for 10 yrs till it shinks enough to start tearing into flashing and when the leaks start its too hard to find. I've been tearing off alot of epdm's lately and replacing with inverted 2 ply hot rubber. It is protected from sun and elements and future leaks are easy to find because there is no migration under system. Inverted asphalt 4 ply good to but cants fail long before flats so cants should be mopped in to create a back up when cants fill with water

I am a Stone Mason by trade and I have seen this stuff used on more than one project It works well.

I have also seen another product kind of like this It was silicone based and grey in color and failed first winter

Safer to me than to accept the liability of a crew of coked up roofers on my roof I don't know what part of Canada your from but I have only found one roofing company that beleives in being sober at work. I have had to fire a whole company in the past because of this . My crane opperator would not work with them and I don't blame him one bit.

I absolutely cannot argue with you on the fact of roofers and a stigma- or a truth regarding drugs and work, as it goes with many professions. I can however comment on the fact that if any one person on the crew I work with used drugs during work hours or were impared in any way... they are far too much a liability to my boss and would be fired as has happened many times in the past. I agree that there is far too many "companies," that would be more then a liability tho just not where I work :)
