  • ya ive seen shine live a ton of times and he is great live but no doubt this was lipsyncing, kinda sad to see, maybe he just wasnt 100% does take alot to tour

  • its funny, he talks about this song like it was his, its not...none of these artists write their own shit.Bobby Huff wrote this song....Good work Huff!

  • You. Rock.

  • 3:14 - 3:22 you can see him lipsyncing. I was hoping that he wasnt too, cuz I love Brent! I wanted to believe he wasnt, but its WAY to obvious that he was. :-( Oh well.

  • yup he lipsynched, no argument about it.

too bad coz i wanted to hear him sing this song live! i've been looking for vids where he sings it the same way he recorded the song.

it's still my most fave song though!

  • pretty obvious what is coming out of the speakers is different from what he is actually saying into the mic , i agree lipsynching but hey theres a lot of bands that do it that nobody catches onto . it does disappoint a little but i agree when you sing every night and you have such challenging vocal songs there has to be something done to keep moving on

  • Who cares if he's lipsynching! True Shinedown fans wouldn't care!! Shinedown is still a great band!! You try singing for an hour and a half almost every night and see if your voice still sounds good!

  • 3:10

he's lip syncing, stop bitching that he isn't

  • It appears that he was lip synching until the end. Then they shut it off at the end and his voice sounds like he wasnt prepared to actually sing.

  • @Gunnyrba Have you ever managed a sound board/speakers? Believe it or not You can change of what it sounds like. He isn't lip syncing.

  • @commenteh check it from 3:10. He is lip syncing then and its pretty clear that he is. Sorry, but I stand behind my original statement.

  • I've lost a bit of interest in this band because of this video. fuckin lip synching

  • i love this band. But here's how you solve the problem. If the songs are too hard to sing, then don't make them so damn hard to sing when you record them!!!!!!!!!!

  • More lip syncing from Brent Smith. it's on almost every song on the COM tour. What a joke.

  • Ummm hes definitely not lipsyncing. okay that's one theory. how come at 3.12 his voice is saying "leaving peices of me behind" and his lips are saying " I feel like I'm breaking inside"?

There's definite lip syncage here, as much as I enjoy shinedown.

It's understandable, If he sang the way he does every night since he was signed his throat would explode. youl also notice he has alternate ways of singing most of the new choruses when his voice is tired.

  • LOVE Shinedown!!!

    REAL HEART & SOUL!

    Rock ON!

  • this song is fucking awesome... but id prefer it if the only singer was bret... i dont like the vocals from the rest of the band ...

  • great song

  • awesome video & great sound :) totally fits what i'm feeling right now. thanks for posting this.

  • awesome fucking speach

  • amazing ive never seen a single good recording of any live performance on youtube before this one

  • i love them live.good speach to

  • that is such a great song, I cannot wait to see them live at rockfest this year in kansas city. May 30th at liberty memorial downtown KC largest one day rock festival in the country, 50,000 people!!!!!!

tickets went on sale this past wedensday and it has already sold over 35,000 tickets!!!!!

  • Definately not lipsynching.

  • @Zidders Are you kidding me?? The entire song is lip synced. For goodness sake he doesn't even "sing" the right lyrics at 3:16.

  • so cool i love this song

  • Sick show, whoever filmed it must've been about 5 feet from me because my video looks identical! He may have synced a portion of that song, but I really don't give a shit. These guys have been touring like mad and it's gotta be tough!

  • Sick ass concert, was there last night

  • great quality by the way please upload more, hands down best shinedown shit in months on this site! thank you so much

  • notice until 3:42 its Flawless then after that it doesnt sound anything like the first 3 minutes of the song. Don't get me wrong brent is still the best vocalist IMO, but his voice is strained everynight. Singing is not a basic thing if it was everyone could sing good, so because of that it can be strained and brent sings night after night, it wears him out and he needs to do this on somesongs. the break will help him.

  • Yeah and I'm feeling what's after 3:42 more than what's before. His voice after 3:42 shows it all, he's really tired.

  • apparently his voice is not so strong that he has to lipsync. 3:12 - 3:16

  • I was a photographer (professional) at this very show and I can tell you first hand he was NOT lipsynching. What you are hearing is A) His mic was cutting out during certain parts, and B) The backing vocals done by the guitarist and bass player.

Even though the backing vocals weren't always 100% on, when they were layered properly it mimicked the layering on the album, so his mouth not matching up with the sounds is because he was actually singing a different melody from them.

  • sorry but no, the chorus is too perfect until the last one, you can hear that its completely different than the first ones. But the chorus is usually what he can't sing, like in I Dare You, he nearly always lip syncs that chorus.

But don't get me wrong, they're both incredibly hard songs to sing every night on a tired voice, i'm just saying do a better job. Don't mess up lines and fake sing something not coming out of the speakers, and he needs to be less exaggerated

  • Good point, maybe so but I know for sure during the first 3 songs when it seemed like it wasn't him singing, it was indeed the other band members. In the photo pit (between the stage and the barricade) you hear what is coming directly from the monitors and I'm positive there was no sound bed. Maybe since this song was much later in the set he needed the help. You could tell his voice was tired, it was the 124th show of the tour.

  • i met him after this show.. the guy is really sick, he's coming down with something terrible. he needs a break. you can hear it in his voice when he talks, thats its pretty much gone. it's a wonder he gets through his shows. THE MAN IS STILL AMAZING.

  • THANKS SO MUCH FOR POSTING!!

  • damn another great one thanks for sharing
