John Thune is a Shithead! How dare he make it look like the entire military is GOP when in fact more and more military families oppose the war and Ron Paul has pulled in the most fundraising cash from Military Career people of all the GOP 2008 Candidates...
GO JIM WEBB! You are a patriot unlike John Thune is a chicken-hawk
Pssst, Sen. Thune. We do have troops in Afghanistan. BTW, Iraq never caused 911 and Pres. Bush's leading us there is what created a worse mess. Sen. Thune, you're hitching your wagon to a horse that's gone the wrong way from the get go.
Feinstein says "If they do, they must be smoking something..." but here I am at my desk smoking good, and I can clearly see that Iraq is a failure. Any person who reads, while stoned, high or even on crack, can see that the world thinks less of the US. And that we keep shooting ourselves in the foot, every day we keep our troops in the middle east.
I don't give a damn what you liberals say. All your excuses and bull crap does nothing but help the insurgents. Ok, be against the war. That's understandable. But for you to help the ENEMY is unconscionable. I view you more of threat to this nation then Bush or bin laden. Consider this American despises you liberals.
The insurgents are just thank you Democrats. LOLOL
Wall Street Journal carried an interview with former North Vietnamese Colonel Bui Tin, a member of the North Vietnamese general staff. Col Tin was asked, "Was the American anti-war movement important to Hanoi's victory?"He responded, "It was essential to our strategy... Every day our leadership would listen to world news over the radio at 9:00 AM to follow the growth of the American anti-war movement.

It was for these reasons alone, that holding the line in Vietnam was essential. Gosh, I suppose the Bush twins, whose daddy decided the War in Iraq was merited have now answered the call to duty along with Karl Rove's 18 year old son. Perhaps Thune is urging his kids to insist on duty in Iraq as well.
Republicans mock service members, just look what they do to McCain, Hagel, Luger, and Warner. Then with Pat Tillman, they punch his entire family in the gut by hiding his record under "Executive Priveledge"
Hey, the notion that I "don't support our troops" is a complete and utter falsehood.
Frankly, thank you and your family for the military service and duty.
It's more than Bush, Cheney, Rove, Rice, Thune, Chamblis, Sununu, et al ever did.
As I recall, many of the current Democrats in Congress, like Webb, Kerry in the senate, Murphy and a few others in the House, do have decorated military records. Chuck Hagel also is opposed to Bush's mismanagement and sheer recklessness in Iraq.
sen Thune gave a simplistic argument not worthy of his station. does anyone else think its strange that our senators cant muster even the complex reasoning skills of high schoolers?
Joseph Lieberman and the other senator is it me or is this messager not understanding the fact that their were no Nuclear Weapons In Iraq? Or how the president throughtout his reign of power has changed that policy? Did you notice the leaking of information of the CIA? Lets leave the troops Levin/Reed Amendment and continue this war. You just signed the bill for a Jihad War. (U.S. congress just made it possible for Al-Qeada to spawn)
You can't keep the fools you recruit from knowing the truth of changes in policies since the war started. They will start to wake up. You invaded the holy land and remain in their land. Abusing, violating human rights with secret prison cells, we watched the pictures. We know your methods and still you refuse to leave them alone.
The American Army is usually recruites individuals in highschools that in poor neighborhoods. So a paid army which has great diversity compared to a Religious-"insurgent" army this outcome is interesting.
-"The U.S. willingly set aside its own security and that of many of its allies, in order to advance the interests of Israel. The pro-Israel lobby AIPAC, (The America Israel Public Affairs Com.) has manipulated U.S. media, silenced critics of Israel by labeling them as anti-Semitic."
- Stephen Walt, a Dean at Harvard, and John Mearsheimer, professor at the University of Chicago. >>They also examine the role played by the pro-Israel neoconservatives in the lead-up to the U.S. invasion of Iraq.
America has less credibility because the Democraps are telling the world America is a bunch of pussies that can't be trusted.
We had elements of Al Quada in Iraq but now we have Al Quada in Iraq -- does anybody buy this crap. Democraps need to follow through and listen to the troops on the ground instead of blowing them off to meet their 2008 agenda. Politicians don't know crap about the war.
Military hates democrats (moonbats) -- period. Ask an active duty person.
Let every nation know, whether it wishes us well or ill, that we will pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe, to assure the survival and the success of liberty." JFK
Bush has more courage and conviction than you ever will. There are only two democrats with courage and conviction Zell miller and Joe liberman, the rest are yellow cowards just like you.
So these are the same Republicans who had an Administration provide weapons to both Iraq and Iran? The same Republicans with a current president that has deep personal ties with Saudis, who also supply a great deal of terrorists to Iraq.
Then let's not forget how Bush almost gave control of US Ports to companies in Dubai. You know them, they refused to stop the flow of assets and finances of known Extremist Terrorists.
BTW, the biggest sign of Bush's complete and total failure to control the wave of religious fundamentalists and extermists is that Safe Haven They continue to have in the border of Afghanistan and Pakistan.
Are you familiar with the region? It's the same one that attacked this country on 9/11/01. Six years later, it is tragically still going strong. Pakistan already has nukes too, and a population that increasingly supports extremists.
But hey, we can't blame Republicans. Like in '98, they had Verrrry important work to do. When the Democratic opposition held the presidency, there was the initiative to attack bin Laden's safe haven with missles.
But the GOP was more concerned with investigating a cumstain, instead of national security.
so you would like us to invade pakistan or maybe just bomb them for awhile come on lets hear what you would like after all I agree Pakistan is very likly to be taken over by extremists.
Instead of focusing military efforts into a country with no proved Al Qaeda ties, despite chickenhawk Cheney's continued assertions, perhaps the efforts along the Afghanistan and Pakistan should have been multiplied.
After all, Pakistan is a tenuous dictatorship with nuclear weapons and a growing populace that has shown a tragic support to Al Qaeda.
With a totally bungling, unprincipled, an conteptuous gang of Republicans in Congress supporting a spineless wesel of an Administration, the US doesn't have to worry about Al Qaeda. The Admisitration and the halfwit GOP willing to support it will do the job for them.
I get so tired of hearing how we armed Iraq its an outright lie, 90 percent of Iraq arms Russian the rest are French and german. Iran was mostly us until the shah was overthrown, and forget The Iran/contra
it was not that much arms. since then try russia and france and germany
Iran Contra, was a joke the amount of arms was crap
and I've read the reports on the chemical plants and equip and chems sold to Iraq almost 98 percent came
from Germany. and weapon sales to afghanistan we gave
arms to them when they fought russia and it was not that much arms, do you understand how much supplys you go thru, even if you are not fighting anything supply to Afghanistan Iraq or Iran is long gone.
Whatever, you're apparently going to continue to waste my time. Anything you say can be equally countered, but Bush could pee on you and you'd convine yourself it's rain.
If you choose to continue to follow a gutless coward and totally incompetent Addministration like Bush's, it your choice. Hell, you even think Joe McCarthy was great for the US.
as for the US Ports I agree bad Idea. and It was stoped. And if you continue with the bush/ties with saudis knew about 9/11 I will just put you in the insane nut job pile and forget anyting you said.
To reiterate, the US Ports were with Dubai. you know that some of the 9/11 hijackers were from there and the banks in Dubai refused to freeze assets for the linked individuals.
Again, Saudi Arabia today remains a springboard for nationals dedicated to fighting for Religion extremists.
Cute how Joe Lieberman, who Bush has basically started dry humping, mentions "Iranian Influences" but complete forgets about the Saudis coming over the border to join Al Qaeda.
see, this could go all night, but it boils down to this:
The buck stops here, Bush has claimed he's the decider. Therefore, all the missteps, incompitence, and poor planning of the past 5 years lie solely at his well defined feet. Let's not forget, Al Qaeda already has a safe haven. You remember, it's the same place it was on 9/11, exactly where GW forgot about.
To blame anyone else is the act of a cringing little maggot supported by a pile of fecal matter.
For any right winger or Republican who claims liberals, Democrats, or just those who think Bush is just total cowardly shit, just remind them:
The Walter Reed Hospital neglect scandals happened under the Republican Congress' watch. If the Dems didn't take back Congress, that crime would have stayed covered.
Also, Bush now claims "Executive priveledge" over records related to Pat Tillman's death.
Hey Joe, what the american ppl keep seeing is a bunch of stinking sellouts setting policies per their agenda, against the will of the people who you SERVE ..... and I have news
Let's see, five years of Bush saying Al Qaeda's on the run. That's been proven false.
Last year, Bush claimed tremendous progress in Iraq. Also making reference to a "new Democracy". Yet after the elction here in 2006, he stated disappointment.
This year, Bushs says he's the decider and in charge of the troops.
The failure of Iraq and even the greater war with Al Qaeda is Bush's failure and his alone.
Like a coward, a complete and utter spineless little worm, he begins to blame Congress.
No American ever spat in the face of soldier returning from Vietnam. It is a Republican LIE told so many times everyone thinks it is true -- same technique used by Hitler and Goebbels against the Jews in Germany.
you fuckers gave us the mission in the first place and now you stab us troops in the back and tell us our sacrifice is meaningless.the senate wants us to abandon iraqis the way we abandon south vietnam.democrats want our country to return to the days when americans spat in the face of our soldier and persecuted vietnam veterans.
If the terrorists are going to try to get us, why are our borders open? ohhh, globalism, north american union. These politicians in washington are criminals. We need to purge the system in washington dc.
LOL, good vs evil? They've stated VERY clearly, that they attacked us because we've been in Saudi Arabia and invading their holy lands. Get the hell out!
I'm sick of these rich bitches sitting in a room thousands of miles away from the war telling us what is good for the troops. And more than that, I'm sick of politicians turning this war into a political pawn. This is about right and wrong, not Right vs Left. This war is wrong, 70% of the public want us out, more than 60% of the troops want us out, Iraq gov't wants us out. SO why the hell are we still there?
Send these losers to iraq to fight it! Send Jew lieberman, that mossad agent and all that support this failed policy to iraq to fight and support it. Bring our troops home now war profiteering, fearmongering scum!
Has Thune any military experience? Any children of his of enlistment age?
I propose a running tally of Right wing pundits and Bush's supporters in Congress who should be invited by the people to enlist for war in Iraq to make up the troop shortfall for the war they so vigorously praise.
Karl Rove's 18 year old son, the Bush twins, Romney's five robot boys, Michelle Malkin, for example.
What does the Iraqi government say? If they say PUBLICALLY they can handle things without us. Then we can leave. This is a political stunt. Because you know full well that if we pull out of Iraq then the majority of troops will be redeployed to Afghanistan anyway. The Democrats are frustrated because they haven't done anything with their majority yet. This looks bad to voters, so they pull this.
As for the polls go, though, I don't think they matter at all. The military is a tool of American foreign policy, which is set by civilians. Soldiers wanting to stay, soldiers wanting to go, it really doesn't matter much unless it's a military officer of a high rank giving strategic advice on how to progress with military operations in the best manner.
Thune said the single most retarded thing I have ever heard. Afghanistan is a good war because they were the ones who were at least partially responsible for 9/11. Idiot.
Thune is such a tool. So, his "conversations" with some soldiers is apparently comparable to a professional poll? A Senator speaking to some marines during a photo opp is hardly scientific proof of anything but his toolishness.
It seems astonishing to me that the weakest and dumbest of the speeches came from those still supporting the Iraq War. These turkeys couldn't even win a high school debating contest, and it disgusts me that they are holding our troops and country in thrall to a catastrophic policy that defies all logic.
Thune did NOT want the actual polls from the military to be read out, that's for sure. It would prove him WRONG as to how many of the troops want OUT of Iraq and think it's just silly to keep on with this idiocy.
To add to this, for those that don't know what was going on, the Repubs are blocking the vote, because they know this amendment would pass if it went to an up or down vote. The Dems wanted to vote on the amendment to get our troops home within 6 months or so. The Repubs are obstructionists on this, to make more and more money from the blood of our people.
It's ironic, the Republicans, such as Thune and Frist, used to have temper tantrums about how Democrats were obstructionists when they proposed filibusters or procedural votes. Claiming they had the "will of the people".
Now that the advantage is for Democrats, little weasels like Thune bitch and moan and become obstructive.
Sure is! Did you catch where Thune stopped Webb repeatedly when Webb was trying to read the latest polls about how the soldiers want OUT of Iraq? It's pretty obvious. Thune asked McCain to help him, which he did. Webb never did get to read the polls. They obviously did NOT want that in the record.
I was up and watched it until about 5 am CDT. It was a pitiful show from the Repubs. The women Dems were incredible speakers, especially since they were up in the middle of the night!
John Thune: Our soldiers are dying because they are getting killed! THAT is the reason why they kill our soldiers, to make them die. Our soldiers are killed and die. Why? It's because the killers exist to kill and make our soldiers die!
John Thune is a blind idiot, YOU invaded their country, yet they are the evil ones. He has also said that the whole nation of Iraq are radical islamics, when clearly it is the very few who are defending their own country from foreign invasion. They have been brainwashed into believing that their only way to be FREE (therefore not haters of freedom) is to fight.
Nice going, South Dakota. You elected an idiot. He probably ran the usual "we must stop the gay agenda" crap which rednecks always fall for, but they don't seem to mind the war going on forever. Glad South Dakota has its priorities straight.
agreed! how is that the rich daddies boys get to power, yet they are absolute tools??? NEW ELECTION, anyone can be up for election, no campaigns allowed! just a new TV station where everyone and anyone who wants to be up for election can go on and say their piece! lol
Yeah thats pretty much right. I didnt vote for him. I think he did the average. Gay people. Boo! Terrorists. Boo! I cant believe Daschle lost. He was the minority leader in the senate......... South Dakota had a voice until the dumbass midstate voted thune in.
Talk is cheap. And GOD these guys are stoopid, especially Thune. What a horse´s ass. Why don´t they listen to what Ron Paul is saying about blowback and why the Muslims are really pissed off.
... I know their thinking. When I was still a member of what is probably best termed the British Jihadi Network ... we used to laugh in celebration whenever people on TV proclaimed the cause for Islamic acts of terror like 9/11, the Madrid bombings and 7/7 was Western foreign policy. ... By blaming the Government for our actions, those who pushed this 'Blair's bombs' line did our propaganda work for us. <b>"</b>

As I recall, many of the current Democrats in Congress, like Webb, Kerry in the senate, Murphy and a few others in the House, do have decorated military records. Chuck Hagel also is opposed to Bush's mismanagement and sheer recklessness in Iraq.

MKB2814 4 years ago
BTW, the biggest sign of Bush's complete and total failure to control the wave of religious fundamentalists and extermists is that Safe Haven They continue to have in the border of Afghanistan and Pakistan.
Are you familiar with the region? It's the same one that attacked this country on 9/11/01. Six years later, it is tragically still going strong. Pakistan already has nukes too, and a population that increasingly supports extremists.
MKB2814 4 years ago
But hey, we can't blame Republicans. Like in '98, they had Verrrry important work to do. When the Democratic opposition held the presidency, there was the initiative to attack bin Laden's safe haven with missles.
But the GOP was more concerned with investigating a cumstain, instead of national security.

gismotech 4 years ago
Let's see.
MKB2814 4 years ago
they had other ties to terriost not just Al Qaeda
and I will agree Iraq was not the best idea but we are
there and need to see the job done.
gismotech 4 years ago
Last point.
With a totally bungling, unprincipled, an conteptuous gang of Republicans in Congress supporting a spineless wesel of an Administration, the US doesn't have to worry about Al Qaeda. The Admisitration and the halfwit GOP willing to support it will do the job for them.
MKB2814 4 years ago
I get so tired of hearing how we armed Iraq its an outright lie, 90 percent of Iraq arms Russian the rest are French and german. Iran was mostly us until the shah was overthrown, and forget The Iran/contra
it was not that much arms. since then try russia and france and germany
gismotech 4 years ago
Yeah, all those countries also supplied arms to the two countries.
Then you forget about Iran Contra, Rumsfeld making handshook deals with Iraq, and a total lack of any diplomacy with Iran after 9/11.
How did all those weapon sales to Afghanistan and training for bin Laden turn out?
MKB2814 4 years ago
lack of diplomacy with Iran I guess the UN and Eourpe
don't count. after all they seem to think they can
handle Iran but I don't belive they can
gismotech 4 years ago
Iran Contra, was a joke the amount of arms was crap
and I've read the reports on the chemical plants and equip and chems sold to Iraq almost 98 percent came
from Germany. and weapon sales to afghanistan we gave
arms to them when they fought russia and it was not that much arms, do you understand how much supplys you go thru, even if you are not fighting anything supply to Afghanistan Iraq or Iran is long gone.

MKB2814 4 years ago
as for the US Ports I agree bad Idea. and It was stoped. And if you continue with the bush/ties with saudis knew about 9/11 I will just put you in the insane nut job pile and forget anyting you said.
gismotech 4 years ago
See, now you want to twist the argument.
MKB2814 4 years ago
to reiterate the US Ports were not with Dubai, Dubai ports bought the company that ran the ports and ended
up selling our ports because of the stink about it
and now what do you want to do with Saudi Arabia
should we attack them as well as Pakistan.
gismotech 4 years ago
Cute how Joe Lieberman, who Bush has basically started dry humping, mentions "Iranian Influences" but complete forgets about the Saudis coming over the border to join Al Qaeda.
MKB2814 4 years ago
see, this could go all night, but it boils down to this:
The buck stops here, Bush has claimed he's the decider. Therefore, all the missteps, incompitence, and poor planning of the past 5 years lie solely at his well defined feet. Let's not forget, Al Qaeda already has a safe haven. You remember, it's the same place it was on 9/11, exactly where GW forgot about.
To blame anyone else is the act of a cringing little maggot supported by a pile of fecal matter.
MKB2814 4 years ago
For any right winger or Republican who claims liberals, Democrats, or just those who think Bush is just total cowardly shit, just remind them:
The Walter Reed Hospital neglect scandals happened under the Republican Congress' watch. If the Dems didn't take back Congress, that crime would have stayed covered.
Also, Bush now claims "Executive priveledge" over records related to Pat Tillman's death.

MKB2814 4 years ago
What does the Iraqi government say? If they say PUBLICALLY they can handle things without us. Then we can leave. This is a political stunt. Because you know full well that if we pull out of Iraq then the majority of troops will be redeployed to Afghanistan anyway. The Democrats are frustrated because they haven't done anything with their majority yet. This looks bad to voters, so they pull this.
nullusclementia 4 years ago
As for the polls go, though, I don't think they matter at all. The military is a tool of American foreign policy, which is set by civilians. Soldiers wanting to stay, soldiers wanting to go, it really doesn't matter much unless it's a military officer of a high rank giving strategic advice on how to progress with military operations in the best manner.
jct329 4 years ago
Thune said the single most retarded thing I have ever heard. Afghanistan is a good war because they were the ones who were at least partially responsible for 9/11. Idiot.

Thune is such a tool. So, his "conversations" with some soldiers is apparently comparable to a professional poll? A Senator speaking to some marines during a photo opp is hardly scientific proof of anything but his toolishness.
gophergutz 4 years ago
It seems astonishing to me that the weakest and dumbest of the speeches came from those still supporting the Iraq War. These turkeys couldn't even win a high school debating contest, and it disgusts me that they are holding our troops and country in thrall to a catastrophic policy that defies all logic.
ecophotos 4 years ago
Thune did NOT want the actual polls from the military to be read out, that's for sure. It would prove him WRONG as to how many of the troops want OUT of Iraq and think it's just silly to keep on with this idiocy.
splashy9 4 years ago
To add to this, for those that don't know what was going on, the Repubs are blocking the vote, because they know this amendment would pass if it went to an up or down vote. The Dems wanted to vote on the amendment to get our troops home within 6 months or so. The Repubs are obstructionists on this, to make more and more money from the blood of our people.
splashy9 4 years ago
It's ironic, the Republicans, such as Thune and Frist, used to have temper tantrums about how Democrats were obstructionists when they proposed filibusters or procedural votes. Claiming they had the "will of the people".
Now that the advantage is for Democrats, little weasels like Thune bitch and moan and become obstructive.
MKB2814 4 years ago
