Hi , I recently have burchased diamond dove. I was told that they are a pair. i have placed a wooden cup shaped nest and alse placed some hay into the cage. After 2 days one of the dove start to sit in it and it looks like that they are building nest as i can see some hay straws in the nest . i am confused as the dove alwasy are in the nest in the morning and then during the day they keep coming out of the nest. are they going to breed or just protection for them
lolol, i got a pair of diamond doves but then, it has been 3 month and i don't see any eggs. i think both of my diamond doves are either males or females. lol
When they get older, the males get much larger rings around their eyes and do a deeper, more rhythmic full call. Young ones are very hard to figure sexes out. Google the Diamond Dove Home Page-very helpful! Good luck! Oh, and if they do breed, they do it almost non-stop! My 3 birds (2 females) went to 15-QUICKLY!!!
