this guy is the most entertainingly enthusiastic doco presenter there is. The viewer is left in no doubt that he knows his subject inside out and yet can still manage to relate the details in terms and with mannerisms familiar to us all. not common in the art world.

Sorry to burst your bubble but more thujone will not make you hallucinate. If you expect such an experience from absinthe you're going to be extremely disappointed. Buy LSD instead. Cheaper and far more effective. The only thing the higher thujone brands succeed in doing is making the drink horribly foul and bitter.

Actually the reason is people in the UK tend to say Van Goff or the other way Van Gogh (like Go) But the way it was really pronounced was Van Gock...really. And it's funny you ask because don't we say Laugh, and enough (we don't say lau and enou) I could see why they may say that. Anbsinthe pronounced like Ansanthe... why do we say Chopan for the composer Chopin... same thing. He is trying to sound a bit silly and sarcastic on purpose. Why are you so bitter and critical when this is for info.

That is a horrible bit of disinformation about absinthe. It's crap like this that keeps the perpetuated myths about the drink alive and why the FDA won't release it's ban in the US anytime soon. If you drink too much of ANY spirit, it can kill you. In moderation absinthe is actually good for you, it's a tonic & a digestif. That's more than you can say for whiskey and other (legal) spirits. It will NOT make you hallucinate or convulse either.
