  • I've been playing guitar for several years now, and can play a few songs by Stevie, but NONE of them can or will sound JUST like Stevie. His sound is legendary, and irreplaceable

  • @a76137 Definitely man! Nobody will ever get that Stevie sound down... But even playing his stuff is a great feat.

If you all dig SRV, please check out my music on my channel! I'm a young blues/rock musician trying to make something of myself with my music. Please at least give it one listen, you may like it! And even if you don't, you'll be really helping out a young SRV obsessed musician!

  • his music talks to my soul..so smooth and cool ,just like me.well maybe bac in the day..lol.now im old and not so cool..bummer drag heavy sigh,,som1 invent a time machine so i can go bac to a time when i was cool like stevie

  • SRV played a bar in Clw FL. back in the 80`s right before he started playing big venues,What a show a waitress dropped a huge tray of drinks not 5 feet from where he was standing during a solo and he didn`t flinch he just kept jamming and one other thing, I was in charge of getting the items on his rider, I got him basic stuff and some unmentionables,

Let`s just say I could of gone to jail right quick and they had their own personal chick (whore) that stayed on the bus for you know what...lol

This music makes me proud to be a Texan.

  • Ouch! Scientology?

  • @Lionel1871 I'm a drummer.

  • @Lionel1871 As long as you send me your 19.99 + shipping and handling like everyone else you are.

  • 18 ppl dont have a taste for real music

  • is it okay to be 14 and listen to SRV? just wonderin and in general listen to anything before 2001

  • @theqman24 exact same thing here

  • @theqman24 Listen to whatever you want man! Don't ever care about what is "cool" at the moment. This stuff is for real, for ever!

  • @theqman24 I listen to him for inspiration. Any connoisseur of music would enjoy SRV. I knew him as a friend. He lived 2 doors down from me & my dad before he went big.He taught me blues scales one day and I learned what being a guitarist is all about. You gotta convey feeling in your music, and he did just that. Screw the trolls, this man was a guitar GOD.

  • @ItachiUchiha953 WOW! SRV is my idol, it must have been great to meet him. That is SO amazing, I really wish I could have met him before that helicopter crash. Was he as cool as his music?

  • @liams37 yeah, he was. He was on par with Satriani. I got my first guitar from him for $200. It was a 1963 fender strat. I can remember him saying that he was done with it. He liked to modify his guitars with other parts and I'd assume he was done with it considering that it was missing the pickups. After he passed, i really missed him, but he told me to keep your music in your heart, and if I made it big, to give him a ring. He was a nice man, but a TOUGH teacher.

  • YEAH !

  • The zoro of guitar

  • He would have been 56 yesterday. A legend gone and missed.

  • Awesome stuff man!! Too cool!! Joey Vaughan "World Blues Attack"

  • im a guitarist a 13 yr old kid and i love the blues not just srv but muddy waters skip james robert johnson and Charlie patton so on

Never listened to blues before??? Haha, well, get ready to FINALLY experience life then my friend =]

  • @grynpys what planet you been livin on youngn

  • There should be some way to take those that dislike SRV, and EJECT them off the planet.

  • @TheJelloSheriff

    I totally agree

  • fuck john mayer! that bitch doesnt sound NOTHING like stevie! stupid ass lmfao. no one could ever match up to jimi and stevie's playing and singing!

  • Comment removed

  • John Mayer represents an upper middle class society. He's clean, smart and women like him. Insecure males feel threatened by this and put him down and can't give a legitimate reason why. If you're putting John Mayer down for his guitar playing I'd bet my fingers he is and always will be better than you at guitar and if you think otherwise you go and sell out a venue of 30,000 people playing mainly blues songs. He does it on the regular.

  • @coexist3583 I was born in south orange county, and I loathe John Mayer because of how he acts. Yes he plays great guitar. But he acts like a fucking douchebag, straight up. Popularity doesn't equate to integrity.

  • @TheJelloSheriff I hate him as a person, too, but I think he's probably the best modern guitarist and a songwriter right next to John Frusciante, and his music has touched me in a way that's pretty rare, He's a good musician, but a douchebag. Just ignore his interviews, his music is much better!

  • @TheJelloSheriff Dude, he earned that shit... I'd do the freakin' same thing man.

  • hendrix came first

  • pandora got me here

  • in MY opinion this man is a better guitarist than hendrix

  • @Omer698 I respectfully disagree ... they're on the same level of awesomeness, in my opinion ...

  • @Omer698 did you hear the song "Red House"??

  • @Omer698 try to play a guitar upside down and backwards at his skill level

  • John Mayer sounds so much like him, not just in playing, but in singing too. At some parts like around the 2 minute mark

  • I think you can tell he got a lot of influence in this song from Duane Allman's rendition of Goin' Down Slow.

  • Was just wondering how many people that listen to SRV are guitarists...

Thumbs up if you're a guitarist!!

  • @Shayden1994 no just wish i were lol

  • @Shayden1994 what if you suck

  • @ThePodpie does it matter?

  • @Shayden1994 i`m a drummer :P

  • @Shayden1994 ..how can someone call themselves a guitarist and NOT listen to SRV?!

  • @Shayden1994 i just wish i could play like Vaughan. Hahahaha.

  • @Shayden1994 im 17 yrs old been playing for about 4 yrs.. all those 4 yrs ive been listening to hard rock bands lik nickelback n stuff... my dad got me into this stuff now i cant stop listening to it... srv is my fave guitarist of all time

  • @3DGFORLYFE Kids these days call Nickelback "hard rock" ? Wow...just... wow.

  • @SixStringSummer13 listen to their silver side up album... they were hard rock

  • @3DGFORLYFE I will maintain the right to respectfully disagree.

  • @SixStringSummer13 u must not know what hard rock is cuz their older stuff is pretty dam hard

  • @SixStringSummer13 Nickelback is apparently the most popular "hard rock" band nowadays, which is a damn-well disgraceful spit on the graves of legends like these. I'm ashamed to be a part of this generation...

  • @3DGFORLYFE if i were your dad and i found you listen to nickelback while having a SRV cd laying around somewhere...i would kick your ass son

  • @Takunrsx actually my dad bought me the nickelback albums... n he has almost every SRV album soo... but hey i listen to old blues man i listen to real talent wen it come down to it.. i play guitar u cant learn shit off of ppl now a days

  • Mayer may be good, possibly even have some soul blues, but he aint no Stevie and never will be. Stevie Ray Vaughan is simply the best fucking guitarist and blues musician that ever lived in this world...end of story!

  • When i am far of my country ,i ear this song and make me feel closer of my home ,thanks for this piece of art Steve R.I.P

  • 17 people have no soul

  • @Broman186 17 people hate Texas,

  • now this is fucking music!

  • from what it looks like, the next flood in texas will come the same day that hell freezes over

  • Soooo many people are wrong, I have seen Mayor live, wasn't an aim of mine but I dug his music, got an opportunity for a free ticket with me mates and I went, it was absolutely amazing, not only was he fuck shit high the whole time, a lot of his songs were the band and him going off in solos with so much passion my non vagina got wet. It was raw and deep, Mayor has blues, he didn't used to, but he matured and went through some shit, he's got the soul now.

  • Stevie Ray Vaughan makes this song so soulful, he makes you feel like his guitar is singing its own part every bit as much as he does.

  • the blues players are always the best players :) true story

  • What's this I see -- 17 dislikes!?! Unreal. To each his own, no doubt. // SRV is just exceptional, one of the truly all-time best. And this rendition of Texas Flood is exemplary. What a masterpiece. // Thanks for this fine sounding upload SRV222!

  • wow, just discovered blues, anyone know when this dude will bot on tour?

  • @pplpilot he is dead. no tours scheduled

  • @pplpilot

As with most new forms of music discovered, the best ever have been dead for a long time. Stevie Ray died in a helicopter crash in 1990

  • @CamHawesMusic011 - He can still catch Dylan though.

  • @pplpilot Stevie has been dead for 20 years

  • @manofgod30 considering SRV was 16 when Hendrix died, there's really no way Hendrix idolized him, but obviously Hendrix was a major influence on SRV. They're both legendary in their own right though.

  • wow.

  • god forbid pop,lmao

  • He tells his story with his Guitar, B-R-I-L-J-A-N-T

  • I missed a meeting to listen to this song. I have a hunch that I'll prefer hearing this over anything that might be said.

  • Stevie Ray loved Hendrix, at first tried to emulate, then developed his own style. What? We all learn from someone, we all add our own unique style to what we love and live. Stevie is not Jimi, wouldn't want to be, just wanted to be as good. He is, even surpasses for those of us who love him. And? Jimi's music spoke to Stevie, Stevie's speaks to us, and it all goes on...

  • fabuleux,un des maitres de l'improvisation,un vrai virtuose

  • This guy is GREAT!

  • (One of the best things about this song (and there were many such things) is the on my 1992 cassette I purchased the song immediately after this was "Dirty Pool". Talk about a GREAT 1-2 punch...)

  • All music videos on youtube should have comments disabled for one day to prevent un-necisary hate !

  • SHUT UP AND ENJOY THE MUSIC

  • @james11825 Agree with you James. This music should be enjoyed by the masses. Who knows if one of the listener could be another brilliant guitarist in the making...not to mention other support services related to composing, performing and recording music.

  • This song... I don't know how to put it. It's like it hits me right in the heart every time I hear it. SO much emotion and feeling in this.

  • Good lord this is amazing !!!!

  • legendary sound of the guitar and unmistakable voice.

  • Comment removed

  • Basicly the white Hendrix

  • @MrTornado300 not exactly they played two completely different genres. Hendrix played psychedelic rock and SRV played blues- rock.

  • @MrTornado300 there are only individuals. Stevie ray vaughan is his own man and artist. You are try to take his credibility by mentioning Hendrix. Hendrix and Stevie are two different styles. Just by saying Stevie Ray Vaughan is the white Hendrix is a sign of total disrespect. Did not stevie make his own songs and gain his own popularity by playing the blues? The sad part is not that you called him, "The white Hendrix" but that you brought the boundary of color lines into music. It never judges

  • Hey I think John Paul Jones would have REALLY enjoyed playing with SRV.

  • Stevie is my idol. he is what makes me want to play guitar

  • instead of arguing over who was better, jimi or stevie, we never had a chance to see how far they both could of pushed their abilities. they both passed way to young. im just glad they gave us what they did. im sure if they was both standing on one stage right now, they wouldn be fightin. they would be having a blast

  • sexiest song ever made by far. just want to grind my hips every time I here it.

  • he did what stevie did, took all his influences and wrapped them into one package.very nice package it was,his influences;all the kings, buddy, muddy, chuck berry the origional guitar hero, there even some chet adkins in there, and his song writing? look at bob dylan.jimis hero.....

  • nothing like redhouse but,I can say that thanks to stevie,I can roll all over the neck of my guitar,he didnt master the scales,he mastered the strings and how to manipulate them to perfection.no body has done that.Ive seen all those guitar masters, they worry about the scales, stevie didnt worry,he just played.master in my eyes.call jimi hendrix the master teacher?

  • one of the greatest guitar players then now and for ever hendrix still and alway's will be the master teacher! oh! and there's only one god and neither one is jesus christ respect your maker !! you guy's sound stupid !!

  • one of the greatest guitar players then now and for ever hendrix still and alway's will be the master teacher!1

  • How the hell could anyone dislike this?? He's a god
