I know I'm late for asking this, but do you have the preshow intro with Yogi and BooBoo and that really cool sound effect at the end of the preshow? I noticed that this video has neither one.
I'm actually not entirely sure. I believe it was signal powered however, as I never recalled seeing any scratches or fading in the pre-show video when I went on the ride, and laser disc projectors were around in 1990 (when it opened with USF).
You Know why they replaced Hanna Barbera Ride because kids around the year 1998,1999.2001 they didn't liked the hanna barbera ride and thats why they replaced.Since i was born in the year 1992 i love hanna barbera cartoons
Even though i never experienced the ride, this video still kept me on edge. I've actually forgotten how Hanna-Barbera characters were still quite dominant during this time.
i miss the old days of universal studios they have changed so much over the years since then i miss it a lot i miss king kong i miss a lot of things at universal studios i love the old days and i think they should go back to the old ways but i like the new ways as well i think they need to change beetlejuice a lil bit they need to bring back the phantom of the oprea and keep hip and hop. who agree's with me on that i know my brother and dad would
Don't expect to see that happening as Universal and Disney have an extreme hatred of each other and would never want to get their hands on property that was licenced by their rival. Marvel Comics was an odd (and unfortunate) exception.
I love how Mr. Hanna and Mr. Barbera say "Elroy's next (ie: Jetsons the Movie) then "The Flintstones" then "Scooby Doo"! And the next major productions based on established characters WERE INDEED "The Flintstones" (1994), "The Flintstones: Viva Rock Vegas" (2000) followed by Scooby Doo (2002) and then Scooby Doo 2 (2004). Sure wish they'd make some Direct-to-Video movies of characters OTHER than Scooby Doo and Tom & Jerry though. Maybe some new Flintstones and Jetsons!
They should have done a roger rabbit version. this is Hannah barabara but the style of the particular rides show is obviously inspired by Roger Rabbit
@olduniversallover yeah but i didnt really mean strictly Universal should have, I'm just saying Disney should have a similar ride. This sort of ride would look wicked with Toontown and Halloween Town.
It's too bad they didn't incorporate a little bit of the Scooby theme in the background of his and Shaggys' part of the ride like they did with the Flintstones and Jetsons parts
i love this ride. i always wondered what dastardly and muttley would have done to elroy if he hadn't been saved. all my friends say that dasardly and muttley were pedophiles, i mean look at how many times they pull elroy into their spaceship by his ass
Scooby Doo is in this movie? COOL! I went to Universal Studios some years ago back in 2008. By the way, thanks for showing this video. Will this ride be open again soon or is there another Hanna Barabera ride coming up?
they already replaced this. the least i want is the one (jimmy nicktoons blast) that replaced it will be replaced by another ride before i go to where they show it and watch it.
I heard so much about this ride, and now I finally saw it. It gave me clips of it during beginning of one of my Hanna-Barbera Traveling Tales video (Rip-Tinklin' Travels). This is awesome to experience. I even heard at one time they were gonna release this on The Jetsons 2nd DVD set, but it wasn't there. That's a bummer.
They couldn't release it on the Jetsons DVD set because Universal still owns the ride film but Warner Bros. released the Jetsons DVD set. But there are rumors that Universal is going to try to release this on the Blu-Ray of Jetsons: The Movie in late 2010
i get goosebumps when i see the characters and music.....i wish they would've kepnt this instead this stupid jimmy neutron crap. And it's REALLY sad that the creators are dead....rest in piece guys....you were the greatest
OMG! I've actually been waiting for this video to pop up here some day! I used to love to watch all of these toons on Cartoon express and CN as a kid. I thoroughly enjoyed this ride as an 8 year old. Now I'm a 25 year old animator, hugely influenced by HB, and this video literally takes me on a rocket ride down memory lane! Thank you!
This ride was great. I don't know why the stupid people wanted to take it down. If it were here today it be teaching kids today real things not the Nicktoon ride.
It's a shame I never went on this ride and it's a bigger shame it no longer exists. My niece and nephews love Hanna-Barbera but not as much as their uncle and they would've loved this ride. Too bad it was replaced by the Jimmy Neutron ride.
What would be nice: A Nintendo-themed motion simulator.
Picture this: Miyamoto, Iwata and Reggie are about to show us the finishing touches on a "new Mario game", but the computer suddenly glitches up, and Bowser kidnaps Miyamoto, angered that there's no Bowser game in development. Mario and Luigi chase Bowser through Hyrule (Legend of Zelda), the Indigo Plateau (Pokemon) and the Mushroom Kingdom, where Bowser kidnaps Peach, too.
if a Nintendo ride was made to replace jimmy i think Bowser should kidnap 9-volt instead of Miyamoto to give homage to The Funtastic World of Hanna Barbera
@PuffyTopianMan That would be an interesting idea to replace neutron with, too bad (from the rumors I heard) universal is probably gonna replace Jimmy with a "Despicable Me" Themed simulator.
Saturday Night Live show? No! That building is designed only to hold a motion simulator and one pre-show room. There was an older soundstage that was RUMORED to one day, hold a Saturday Night Live show. But that has not happened yet.
Oh great! You re-build the great Funtastic World of Hanna Barbera! Only thing missing is the Universal's riding machine, which is now part of the Jimmy Newtron movie.
@kenny3000
I wish that ride could come but they replaced the ride to Dispecable Me minion mayhem ride
