Esther, the problem, you will find, is that politicians can't reach the majority of the populace on an intellectual level. They, as you pointed out, either don't have the attention span, and don't have the educational background or intelligence to understand and critically analyse certain policy decision.

I'm a standard old Reagan Conservative that believes the traditional Republican belief that Government cannot solve our problems. Redistributing wealth is Marxism. We can be proud of key qualities of Good Government. Social Security--- what would we do without it? But more services= higher taxes. Government is highly bureaucratic. They can't run a health care system and if we had to pay for it, Americans would pay HALF of their income to the Government. Is that what you want to do?

I disagree with the point that Youtube will change or alter the election in any way, shape, or form. There was a major campaign in 2004 by MTV and other networks to get the young demographic to vote and it hardly amounted to any change whatsoever. Esther, the problem, you will find, is that politicians can't reach the majority of the populace on an intellectual level. They, as you pointed out, either don't have the attention span, and don't have the educational background or intelligence to understand and critically analyse certain policy decision.
Hence, politicians rely on propaganda. Fear instilling emotive speeches given in concerned tones. Simple easy to remember slogans given with a smile and some upbeat music in the background.
