I've been to several Cruise. To Bahamas, to Mexico, to Alaska and more.

What I found out that 95% or more Cruise ship workers are NON-USA citizen.

Oh, lots of Russians are in the entertainment. Asian and other countries

are in cleaning, cooks, servers, and others.

And most passengers on these Cruise Ship are 95% Americans-USA citizen.

So make your conclusion?

For USA citizen, the chance is slim.

Most Cruise Ship company DONNOT hire American. Most job are hard and 10 hours/day with no overtime. These people barely complain.

On the other hand, American workers complain a lot and do hire American LAWYERS to settle dispute. These will scare the Cruise Ship company in hiring Americans.

@thembones12 if you are gonna complain about the working hours, then the cruise job may not be for you. I say the chances of getting hired are like other land chances of getting a job. If you have the right attitude and realize that there will be alot of work, but also great perks, then go for it. Don't say that since you are a US citizen there is no chance of getting a job.

@dooch31 For your infor - I just landed a job with carnival. I did a urine and blood test and passed after quiting weed 4 weeks earlier. Don't worry about hair tests you won't get tested on that.
