  • This book is so well-written and I love it.

  • Sounds like one mindf**k of a book.

  • I'm a grown man and this really freaked me the fuck out!

  • So I need to buy this book now

  • this is my favorite book.

  • Hiding from Magneto

  • I got Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children! Its an amazing book! I'm not even halfway done yet but... EEK! I'm excited!!!

  • John brought me here and I couldn't help myself but to rush out and get the book from local B&N after the video. =D

  • your book comes out on my birthday :D

  • I love how Mr.Green gave you a review.

  • omg. i love love love this book. now.... lets make a movie(:

  • I'm glad I found this channel. I'm doing a project over Mr. Riggs book (which was a refreshingly different read) and I have to create a 5-10 minute video about it, a sound track and poster. It's a lot of work... but at least I have this to inspire me and great material to work with :]

  • does this remind anyone else of a really twisted version of the Evil Baby Orphanage

  • WOW this looks so good just have to get this book

  • i love this book so much. it's my new favorite

  • Goosebumps.

  • Now THAT's a fucking trailer!

  • @TheBuddsO It isn't!

  • @rachelisdobbysfriend I know, but on the trailer, it says near the end "national best selling author John Green." I was lead here by John Green so I was just curious why it says his name and not Ransom Riggs.

  • @TheBuddsO Because it's a quote from John Green.

  • Why is the author John Green?

  • @TheBuddsO It's not...

  • I really want to read this now.

  • Dude. Thank God for the Kindle so I can start reading this NOW!

  • This is a book that I want to read. Right now.

  • This is awesome - so tense!

Also that is the house from the CBBC programme "Tracy Beaker", isn't is?

  • Please make this into a movie and please, you direct it :)

  • i finished this book today! its awesome!

  • got the book yesterday! Can't wait to start reading it

  • Wow. That house looks just how I imagined it O.O

  • EVIL BABY ORPHANAGE.

  • IKR! I LUV THE BOOK AND I WANT TIM BURTON TO MAKE THIS A MOVIE!

  • I Love This Book So Much. Ive Read Atleast A Million Times. I Hope They Make It Into A Movie.

  • goosebumps.

  • Okay, this book is just AMAZING.

    My favorite is Fiona<3

  • I'm Welsh and like hardly anything really is set in Wales, so I was like super happy to find a book that is set in Wales, then even more happy that it's such an awesome book ! (:

  • Make a movie after it !!!

  • Comment removed

  • Just finished the book. It was super good!

  • I heard that Tim Burton is wanting to make the movie for this? I think that'd be awesome!!

But i swear if he tries to turn it into a CLAYMATION imma be ticked. lol

This book is absolutley amazing!! :DD

  • This is my favorite book! EVER. :)

  • Loved this book!

  • This book was awesome^^

  • moo.

  • I LOVE THIS BOOK!(yes i read it)

  • There needs to be a movie about this!!! :D

  • I believe the rights of the book to make a movie were purchashed before the book hit the shelves so there will be a movie

  • @msmarvell44 i heard tim burton is gonna make it

  • This is absolutely true. Forget the hierarchical pattern here in Hollywood and observe the real creative pulse of the writer and his talent for film making which is self evident. Get the writer to do the screenplay and direct. If you have a vestige of creative ability, DON"T waste this opportunity Mr Fox pictures. Its staring you in the face !

  • Screw Tim Burton, you can direct the movie yourself...

  • @wombatwolf Tim Burton should be involved so more people come to see this

  • are you gonna make it into a movie?! that'd be awesome.

  • If there truly is going to be a movie I want Logan Lerman to act as Jacob and Mia Wasikowska or Saoirse Ronan to act as Emma.

  • I met Ransom Riggs because he was a graduate at my school, and got his autograph. He said he is doing a SEQUEL called "Talking Pictures" and that Tim Burton is doing a movie. Overall, Ransom is a really cool guy and definitely on his way to fame.

  • I can really imagine Miss Peregrine's Home being a Tim Burton film.

  • I wish i had a creepy russo german romanian grandfather...

  • @Ace4929 Don't we all my friend... don't we all.

  • @Ace4929 He's polish.

  • @Ace4929

Eastern European would do, not sure where you got >G<erman from.

  • it's killing me, i want to read this book so badly but i'm on a waiting list at my public library and there are 12 people ahead of me!!! gaaaaaah, the torture!

  • i effing love this book <3 i can't watch the rest of the trailer cause im not done with the book yet but the beginning is awesome <3

  • The actor playing the Grandfather sounds like Bela Lugosi.. I would not be surprised if the actor was FROM ROMANIA or at least if he were playing a character from Romania..

  • @communistjesus Bela Lugosi was Hungarian, not Romanian...

(and this accent is definitely not Hungarian)

  • @realTHK But he has an Eastern European type of accent..

  • @communistjesus I agree, he has some kind of Slavic accent - but Hungarian differs from other East-European languages, so English accent of Hungarian speakers is different (Romanian is also not a Slavic language, so that would be different as well)

Anyway, this actor is a native English speaker, who mocks the accent - not bad, but that makes it unidentifiable.

  • @realTHK i think in the book it says hes polish but im not sure

  • @communistjesus He's supposed to be Polish.

  • i love the book so much! and this is an awesome book trailer..but it would be such a good movie to! (maybe alittle scary) sometimes i had to stop myself from reading atnight cause it gave me nightmares lol i loooved it and you could totally make a 2nd home for peculiar children if you wannted to!

ps the name Ransome is awesome

  • This week I read the book in almost one sitting. Marvelously strange & grand. Turns out to be a story of courage, the value of friendship, and preparing for and look to the future & much more. Can't wait to read the sequel!

  • this trailer is probably gonna sell more books that anything hell gooooooddd!!! I already want to read this

  • I hope they dont ruin it by making it a cartoon or clay figures.... this needs to be a movie with real people. Cica: Xmen meets Grimm......

  • Rumor has it, Fox -- having picked up the rights to Ransom Riggs' "Miss Peregrine’s Home For Peculiar Children" earlier this year -- wants Tim Burton to adapt it for the big screen. Should be interesting, to say the least. ;)

  • Fuck michael picton! this is elfman's style!

  • This is exactly how I pictured everything! :o

  • This book was absolutely brilliant. You have a fantastic sense of the meaning of time; or perhaps a better way to put it is that you have a terrific grasp of the timeless moments that comprise our lives. I haven't enjoyed a story this much since, dare I say, Harry Potter. It goes without saying that I am greatly anticipating any sequels!

  • I heard they might make a movie of this book in may of next year, but it could just be rumors. I dont know, but if they do decide to, im all for it!

  • definitely the best book i've ever read. Are there going to be any sequels?

  • I read this book in about 3 hours it was possibly the best book I ever read:D This trailer is amazing as well :D It should be made a movie!

  • make a frikken movie!

  • that was so amazing <3 Im already hooked on the book and I just started!

  • wow to me this looks really spooky it also looks creepy

  • Ok so I am used to book reviews being advertised as cheap theatrical trailers, but this, this is spooky. Absolutely brilliant trailer, but spooky. Can't wait to read the book.

  • Just bought it :D

  • A really good book!

  • Love this..secret histories..waiting to be read...great edit..and looks like an amazing book...going to search for this one !

  • Definitely going to go go out and buy the book! This trailer is amazing!

  • loved the book!!!!!!!!!

  • THIS BOOK IS AMAZING!!!

  • Completely amazing!

  • Wow! Love this! I'm getting that book!

  • While I read this book I could not get over the fact that even though it wasn't over the top detailed, I could still see it in my mind. A definite sign it would make a great movie. Nudge, nudge.

  • Okay, even though I'm a poor college student, I am totally buying this now.

  • I finally got the chance to read this book. I really hope there is a movie made- it really deserves it.

  • search it on imdb and there acually a page. no info but its got me so exited

  • MOVIE MOVIE MOVIE!!! THIS BOOK IS INCREDIBLE!! :D

  • The wights looked really cool....

  • I'm reading it,liking it so far :D

  • I wish that was a movie trailer.

  • i actually feel like reading now.

  • I could really do without the music, and I don't know why a book's being advertised by a video as if the book is a movie.

  • @TheLonelyImmortal Have you never watch a scholastic book fair video? this is usually what I imagine when I see these...

  • I finished this book about a week ago and loaned it to a friend, she's already done with it and another friend got interested because we kept talking about it so no she's bought it too! It's like an infection! But....in a really good way!

  • ahhh ii saww diss in mahh english class nn i tought itt wass goin tewh be borin butt now i jst want tewh read it!!! :D

  • I am not usually a fan of "book trailers", but this one is cracking :-D

  • Just reserved my copy. I can't wait to get it so i can start reading!!

  • Just bought this book... I'm on page 25 and it's already amazing!

  • i want it.!!!

  • YESS, a book trailer that is actually a trailer and not just some animated version of the cover...awesome, if I hadn't already bought and read the book, this would definitely make me do that!

  • Chilling and I love this book! The trailer is just like it!

  • they showed me this in school and i was a little freaked out

  • Amazing book (:

  • I was in Barnes and noble and i saw this book sitting in the corner. I remembered this and decided to get it! Haven't opened it yet- but i'm excited to!

  • wow. I've heard people rave about this book before, but after watching this...wow i need to read this book now!!! such a great trailer.

  • i loved the book it was AMAZING

  • I read the first 3 chapters online (you have John Green to thank for mentioning you in his latest video), and I'm just enamored. But this video is creepy as all get-out. Love it. Wonderful idea, beautifully written. Maureen Johnson seems like a lovely lady, but I read the first bit of her latest book online, and it seemed horribly... formulated. Your novel was quite refreshing. And the inspiration for it - wonderful. I wish I'd come up with it.

  • I just finished this book today! It had enough suspense to make me read it straight through and enough creepery that I felt slightly uncomfortable reading at night with only a bedside lamp on. A lovely combination! Brilliant novel!

  • so glad i finally found this book! it was brilliant

  • I MUST have this book!

Who are the actors in the trailer? When will the sequel be out?

  • This is wrd and scary, i wanna read it !!

  • Just finished it. Ugh, so darn good. Like man pick this up right now if you have yet to witness the complete awesome it wields.

  • I agree you should totally make movies! This is the very best book trailer I have ever seen. Period.

  • I want his voice.

  • They are making a movie for this book. Fox has bought the rights for this book but they haven't started production just yet.

  • I wanna read this book but the pictures in it freak me out too much! -..-

  • @animeisforme read it, it's totally worth it. just don't read it alone at night. haha :) i tried not to study the pictures too much.

  • Dude! Make movies!

  • I just read it too! +1 vote for movie and sequels from me too! Wonderfully odd :)

  • I loved the book, thank you for writing it!

  • i just finished this book and i cant believe how amazing it was .... we need a movie and another book showing where they went to another loop

  • Thank you for such imagination filling our world ! I must tell you that my 10 yr old daughter, (being a HUGE Harry Potter fan and not falling for just any old thing), is immediately in love with this mysterious and enchanting story! She exclaimed that this HAS to be made into a series of books and films ! You have a firm fan! And I adamantly agree ~ Well done you!

  • they should make a movie on this book

  • Absolutely adored this book. I buy fiction for a public library, and think this belongs as much in adult fiction as it does in YA. I just wish I could make people try new and different things rather than the soggy babyfood trash that makes up most of the bestseller list. Thanks so much for this great read!

  • Just this moment finished your book. It felt like coming home. Like you'd seen my Strange Vintage Fictions artwork. I absolutely adored this book. Tried not to race through it but couldn't put it down. This needs to be a movie.

I too have a love of old photos that don't make complete sense. Became so obsessed with them I started making my own. I'd love for you to take a look at my Strange Vintage Fictions pieces at haggisvitae (dot) com.

Thank you for this brilliantly dark story.

  • So in love with this book.

  • Got the book yesturday and I'm starting chapter 5....I'd be done by now if my sister didn't read so slow. Yeah she wants to read it with me. She only has 2 more days and a half to finish the book and she hasn't even finish one chapter yet, yeah I know she's a fail.lol.

  • @XroadAltos On imdb it says 2013!!

  • loveloveloved the book. :)

  • Fantastic & Friendtastic. So excited to be seeing this everywhere.

    :D

  • Those children are like X-men?

  • @cscdigitalgraphics Yep. In a way. Spoiler alert: they are very old but they look really young. It would make sense if you read it.

  • ahhh looks so awesome!

  • This book is so damn good! Like I need the 2nd part already!

  • I can't 'like' this enough!!!

  • This is the first book trailer that has completely convinced me to order a book.

  • When's the actual movie :D

  • I have to get this book, like NOW.

  • wow that looks like my kind of book!!!

  • Wow, that was well done. Looks fantastic.

  • I watched this and thought, "I want this book". Then I watched the video about making this video and thought, "I need this book. Right now." It's such a brilliant concept and the old, abandoned buildings just clutch at my heart. I will be buying this book the next time I leave this house.

  • Okay, so I want this book. I'm going to get it as soon as possible.

  • Congratulations on the book I shall be buying it soon. I also loved your side-making-of-movie and the houses in Belgium and Europe. I am passionately moved by those houses. :)

  • I've been waiting for my local bookstore to get this book in stock since June and I finally bought it yesterday! I can't wait to start reading it!! :)

  • Just finished the book and LOVED it! I can't put into words how wonderfully the pictures intertwined with the story... well the pictures are the story! I love this book trailer as well. Never seen a book trailer before. Perhaps the authors film background showing? I can't wait to see what Mr. Riggs comes up with next!

I agree with Farkimah above, if this does become a movie the only director that could do the book justice would be Tim Burton!!!

  • I just finished it.

    I must say..

    I loved it.

Very impressive, addicting, and I even admit, I nearly cried when it ended, just because I wanted more. Well done. Well. Done. It was amazing.

  • I'm in the middle of this book and I have to say

absolutly addicting, I have a very difficult time putting it down

The writing is so well done it is literally as though I am watching the book unfold in my head

    if this becomes a movied
