Homemade Two Handed sword (15lbs)

In the time it takes you to swing that sword at an opponent, I would say the opponent would win, given that their sword would be lghter, therefore much quicker. Especially true if faced with a katana for example.

The only thing that beats speed and precision is more spreed and more accuracy.

However as a piece of swordmaking skill, i like it. Your Dad has done a great job on it.

Tell me it's tempered. Because if it's not, against a tempered high carbon steel sword, yours wouldn't stand a chance.

make it razor sharp and it'll be even more fun. i'm trying to get enough supplies together to make either a katana or a ninjato. do you know what your dad used to heat up the steel to forge it?

Also I didn't want it to be razor sharp, as it would be more of a pain to keep the blade looking nice had it been given a razor edge. Anyway it still does the job without the sharp edge =p

i was referring to heating, such as coal, gas, etc. just as a reference. I don't doubt that it does the job w/o being razor.

As far as heating goes all I can say is he isn't heating the sword, and forging it like you may be thinking. What he is doing is taking a piece of steel and cutting out the sword from one solid piece.
