@DakotaMarie94, I don't find the pineapple more difficult to hold. The fret board on that uke is amazing. I don't care for the sound board, though (the print is a plastic coating and it really dampens the sound).
@sharkbaitstudios , I have enjoyed that uke quite a bit over the last several month. The action and fretboard are magnificent. The sound quality is pretty good, but I think it suffers slightly from the pineapple print laminate. Kala makes great ukuleles and this is no exception.
As to the tuner, it is some cheap $20 tuner one of my local shops carries. Can't recall the brand ("FZone" or something like that).
I'm a full time musician, mostly teaching these days, so I sort of get all that theory stuff, although I'm self taught. It's not such a mystery once you crack it! There's a YouTube video of me doing "I'll See You In My Dreams' if you fancy it. Search for tonybuchnz Keep pickin'
Yeah I can usually follow the structure of simple things like folk songs. Stuff like this requires me to sit down and write things out and look stuff up. Super fun learning experience, though.
I am just happy my ear is starting to develop where I can play three chord songs by ear.
Kala makes nice instruments. I have the dolphin bridge makala they make (and we got my daughter a pink one!) all of them are very playable and sound great, especially given their price point.
This Pineapple model is marvelous and even easier to play.
Glad she arrived safe and sound!.... Have fun with her, she is a great player and we enjoyed her a great deal. BTW, that's some awesome art work from your son!
Heyy, is the pineapple more awkward to hold than the standard? is there anything worse about the pineapple in your opinion?(:(:

Nice one! Lovely complex chord structure there.

One of these days I will need to sit and break down the chord progressions used in that piece and really understand them.
For now I just parrot them.

Thanks so much again. It is a beautiful ukulele and the best one I have. The case was a WONDERFUL surprise and much needed.
It has been fun watching my son start drawing... for a long time he didn't even try, and now he draws all sorts of stuff.

Congrats man, you deserved it, your video kicked ass. I had one of those Kala pineapples for a while...they are fun!!!! They play and sound great.

Some hippie was begging for hooch. I tried to enrich his life instead of adding to the pain. I obviously failed. dsi indeed.
