Okay, I understand how you see the movie as 'predictable'. Boy loses dad. Boy lives in hong kong and meets impassive little girl. Boy runs into love interest with a complicated background. I can see how this movie's plot could've been better.
But on a positive note, you have to admit that Djimon Hounsou was very interesting as the central antagonist. Because how many manipulative and greedy villians have you going to seen him perform? And the powers was soo worth watching ;)
