I consider the current Mousavi led movement to be peaceful in practice, but can understand that their is still varying levels of hostility in ideology. Although I hope that this will end in a reasonable manner, escalation is highly likely for both sides. By the time we are at the anniversary of the election, we should expect both parties to have taken a more radical stance from the other.

In order to prevent this most major country's has an independent electoral committee that decides the winner in the event of contest. Iran has no ligament thing, so this is the cause of the dispute.
