  • That story is heartwarming. That doctor is a humble, gracious human being to pray with those people...he realizes that he is blessed with the knowledge and skill to help her, and also that he is not the only factor involved...and is okay with acknowledging that.

  • that is AMAZING!!! i hope she's still doing better

  • oh-my-god o_O

  • Amazing Doctor!

  • Thank God shes all better! <3 Shes so pretty too! Im so happy for her family! Shes an angel! :) <3

  • I personnaly at 34 am reluctant to proceed with this surgury, as Im informed that due to my age the typical recovery may well be alot longer than most when caught early, which shows an element of uncertainty for my circumstance. Most are willing to take that chance due to their circumstance, but for me Im scared to death to introduce Mr. blackndecker to my skull with no certainty of a positive outcome worth a plastic plug. Though am extatic to see the success with this young lady, God bless :)

  • I am so happy for this young girl and I really understand how she feels. I suffer from cranial dystonia after three major brain surgerys . And yes It Takes a lot of toll on you and your family. With strong will and family support you will get well....Eric

  • And no, it was not a miracle. Calling it a miracle is unthankful and dismissing the hard work of all the scientists and doctors who made it happen.

  • lol, superstitious prayer bullshit just before an operation based 100% on logic and science.

  • @k250014783 you ignorant fool, the fact that these surgeons and doctors are a part of a religious faith should tell you something... you have no room to talk about superstition when the people performing these operations are not only relying on their ability to perform surgery but also relying on what they believe helps them... which in most cases is a HIGHER POWER...

  • @misfits60 The only thing it tells me is that I sure as hell wouldn't want to get into surgery in America.

  • What a wonderful inprovement.....Wow that is great.

  • what does that mean "not everybody is U"? Are you saying there is no help for anyone else? Do you understand this is another business? There is help for everyone to make it better or cure it naturally. The brain can recover and learn again.

There can be more than just me, there can be more.

  • This is stunning !

  • This is wonderful :)

  • Wow, Dr. DsSalles is amazing and so are you Veronica... "You're beautiful!"

  • Dr. Antonio DeSalles, very good brazillian doctor

  • I beat Dystonia without the doctors. The research is bunk, dystonia is curable in most cases. Don't let anyone drill holes in your head or stuff you full of botox. I formulated my own treatment after a lot of research and it worked.

  • @nonsulen -well not everybody is U

  • it's not a pace maker it's a neuron stimulating system

  • HOLY FUCK THIS IS SO AMAZING THEY CAN GIVE IT TO THE CHEERLEADER WHO HAS THIS AND THIS OTHER KID WHO PLAYS SPORTS

  • Free energy can change the world! But the Oil coporations life depends on covering this up,if you want a real Free energy Magnet Motor, get the blueprints at LT-MAGNET-MOTORdotCOM ,Start the revolution!

  • My wife has Dystonia and had this surgery .. It has given us our lives back ....God is good all the time

  • @mmrafte in which country did she have the surgery please and how much did it cost?

    thank you

  • @londoniran He is a UCLA Neurosurgeon so the surgery was probably done in Los Angeles, California where the UCLA Hospital is located.

  • great story i am so happy for you and your family i went through the same thing back in 2000

  • This is great to get this awareness of our disorder into the public view! I too had the DBS and can do pretty much everything again! I too have a video anyone can see. Help us get the awareness ,we deserve ,spread around the world! 8-)

  • Amazing! Thanks for posting.

  • i have this kind of condition and i had surgery and it has helped me by 60% but still cannot walk

  • My god, thank goodness she's alright now..what a beautiful, strong young lady. I too suffer with Dystonia of the Cervical persuasion. I am scheduled for DBS in Dec. This is very inspiring!

    xoxoxo

  • I was studying for my neurology shelf here, and I wanted to see an example of dystonia on youtube. I was really moved. this surgical operation really worked!

  • check my videos for my bout with facil dystonia... not pretty and very painful. happened after i had a large dose of levaquin and the flu shot. i'm not saying that it was caused by those things because i don't know. this girl was not faking. my healed up and so did hers. please when you go to my page and see the dystonia video, read the description in it's entirety. thank you.

  • This was kewl

  • I have dystonia and your video gives hope to sufferers that we can maybe get back to having a life. I am in England and am frightened of coming out of the operation with a stroke or brain damage. If it was 80% positive I would have it done tomorrow!!! Have a great life.

  • God bless the girl and the doctor. I'm so glad for her.

  • God Bless your heart

  • omg i feel so happy for her :D

  • @kungfoolai

    SAME:D

  • God bless you Dr. Antonio

  • This is very cool.

  • psychiatrist did this to her.

  • what do you mean?

    how do you know?

  • I know from reading the news story on this person. What else would u like to know?.

  • please tell me WHAT the psychiatrists did to her. I don´t understand what you mean. it is not clear. what did the psychiatrists do?

  • They gave her high doses of psychiatric drugs like antidepressants, and benzodiazepines for many years and she wanted off and when she got off, dystonia developed. The point is she did not need those drugs because so called "mental illness" is not an illness. She was tricked by a psychiatrist like most people are.

  • @Draziom203 you are a sick, twisted psychopath for saying those things, a truly worthless individual. There are despicable rats like you in every site where there is nothing but love and beauty, but I am glad you live your own misery. rotten in there.

  • @youcantbeatfacts You're glad someone's in misery? That's quite psychopathic itself, no?

  • They didn't do nothing, the surgeon did. He placed a pacemaker inside the woman to block the spontanius electric signals from the brain to the muscles

  • @FallaciesDetective dont listen to him, he is a pyscopath himself.

  • shesss soo pretty(:

  • how old is she

  • there goes those disability checks

  • wow amazing. ... hope shes steady and good health for good.

  • I saw her in my school. a couple of years ago.

  • Congratz, I hope you be good and steady for ever xD Good job

  • my older brother suffers from dystonia, and I feel so bad and I cry a lot because it makes me sad to see him go through this illness and not know what to do or how to gte help. he does not have insurance. can anyone help him???

Please help my brother. he has a wife and 3 kids and it is so hard for him, he has had this illness for almost 3 years now and they don't know what to do or who to turn to... very sad...CAN ANYONE HELP???

  • @napohulani2 He got it from psychiatric drugs right?. The Psychiatrists did it to him right?.

  • @Draziom203 I'm not sure what you mean by that, what do you mean when you say the psychiarists did this to him? Im a lil confused

  • @napohulani2 Exactly what i meant. This person has dystonia from psychiatric drugs done intentionally by psychiatrists. Are we clear on this now?.

  • WOW.I can not imagine being confined to a chair... i am so glad she can walk now...

  • Personally I like the vid - but my advice for others is to ask the vid producer to re-shoot the whole vid with some clowns in - for people who like a laugh - then everyone will be happy (especially unemployed clowns)

  • so she got a flu shot too..............lulz

  • not funny at all

  • i have failed to make you luagh :( ......i must kill myself

  • maybe not kill yourself, but think of what you said.

  • i am sorry................ :(

  • lol... i was joking. it wasnt that bad of a comment.

  • ...... thank you :)

  • wow

  • that is so absolutely fantastic!

  • wow im happy to know that i got every one in on this comment,im happy to know that theres lost souls and found souls.GOD bless you all for your comments.and remember,GOD is the beginning and the ending.bye

  • Oh yeah and btw for all you people that said "oh, if God is real why did He have that girl have that disease in the firs place?" This world was supposed to be perfect until Adam and Eve screwed it up with the fruit and that serpent..so God made us have suffering so we can get into Heaven that's the only reason for this suffering, so we can be with him and leave all our sins behind on this messed up World..society these days.

    WWJD

  • ...Your logic is broken. If God truly loved us, why not let us all in heaven. If God was real, sin would just be a tool of His entertainment.

  • God is real, and he always there he has been there since forever, and those scientists have no proof they can say all these things like oh these to pieces of land just formed together..well who put that land there? Yeah, and also i just want to say okay, say that there is no God, but just you wait until Judgment day...just don't say any offense to God, you won't be affecting us, but Him.

    WWJD

  • This is awesome!! I am so happy that she can be happy and do what she wants!! kudos to the doctor

  • That is absolutely amazing that the pacemaker works for dystonia. Cute too.

  • no more "walk it out" for you!!! Lil Jon is losing fans

  • Oh my God she's beautiful. Is she a latina?

  • if the family doesn't have money they probably just tie the patient down in the mental ward and walk away

  • Well funding could easily solve this disease, as you can see with the pace maker regulating pulses.

  • does it bother anyone else that people claim "it was God!" when a medical doctor cures something, but they never say that it's God when science can't cure them?

  • I tend to see it that it's ALWAYS God when there's a miracle, whether by a doctor, or not and it's ALWAYS God's fault and he's cruel when the miracle they're looking for doesn't come. God works through individuals 99.9% of the time.

  • that is a very child-like explanation that doesn't hold up to scrutiny of any kind. if your religion's god is responsible for the agonizing, drawn-out deaths of children, and if you consider that to be him "working through individuals" then he is extremely wicked.

  • Child-like?! Then you don't understand the sciptures and you're a fool. When I said that God works through people I was referring to miracles and blessing others. God didn't call prophets for no reason. If he was going to intervene in person he would never call prophets, apostles, etc. You took my comment completely out of content. Crap happens in life, and that's just the way it is. What would be the purpose of life if everything from the beginning was all perfect? How would we learn?!

  • child-like was in response to latajohnny's comment.

and there is as much evidence that any of the religious nonsense you just vomited onto this page happened as there is evidence that there is a teapot orbiting the sun.

i can't prove either of those claims are false, but i can prove that there is no evidence for ANY of your religious claims or the claim made about the celestial teapot.

  • The vomit will be yours when you finally realize that there isn't earthly evidence for everything in the universe. To be so closed minded must be a sad sad world. The vomit will be yours when you finally realize what you've been missing and/or rejecting. The evidence is everywhere, you're just blind. I urge you to look for what can't be seen by the physical eye. Only the eye of the soul can behold certain things in life. The sooner you learn that the sooner you'll be happy and free.

  • it's probably a sad world for little kids when they learn that santa claus isn't real too.

the universe is a fantastic place and i enjoy it much more knowing that i'm doing my best to dispel illusions in myself and in other people.

being credulous doesn't make the world a better place. when you accept the idea that certain things are real, despite there being no evidence for their existence, you destroy the foundation communication is based on.

you are evidence that ignorance is bliss.

  • Santa Claus, really? There is ZERO evidence for that "being."

That example was "child-like". You are trying to compare the existence of God with S.C. The evidence in insurmountable in favor of God, not so much for the other end of the spectrum. You aren't dispelling illusions, you're pushing you're agenda. The point of teaching people about God is not to trick them, what would be the point? It's to help them help themselves to open their spiritual eyes and understand what they've been missing.

  • that's strange. i wonder why there's a positive relationship between education and atheism. you should probably let universities know what your evidence is, because this will have huge benefits for the scientific community and humanity as a whole.

please share your evidence, because as of yesterday there was no evidence for the existence of any of the hundreds of thousands of gods mankind has made up.

please share your evidence. also, which god do you have proof of?

  • It's so that educators & intellectuals can have their own opinions without being trounced by those who know better on a different level. I specifically said I can't give you proof of God, nor can you prove there isn't one. To argue over evidence of either side is silly when there will never be proof of either, at least, physical proof. The evidence lies in the intricacy of life. If you want to believe, because it makes you warm & fuzzy, that everything "just worked out"...PERFECTLY, be my guest.

  • Intellectuals are narcissistic and thrive on their own "knowledge of things." The problem is that they want to argue their side without proof yet demand proof from religious individuals, JUST like you're doing. So you're exactly right, it's no wonder there is a positive relationship between education and atheism. It's the perfect duo. "Can't touch us" attitude. The worst and saddest part is the ignorance and irony of it all.

  • "intellectuals are narcissistic" says the person who claims to have a personal relationship with the creator of the universe.

i'm glad you've admitted that you're disdainful of people who thrive on knowledge based in evidence. you're right that faith is incompatible with science, reason and education.

since you obviously don't know the atheist position, i'll clarify: we don't claim to KNOW there's no god, we just know there's no reason to think that there is. your side claims to KNOW.

  • Do you know the meaning of narcissistic? Having a relationship w/ God doesn't make me one. Gosh, you'd say anything. I'm disdainful of people who think they are almighty BECAUSE of their knowledge. Thanks for clarifying, as if I was unsure. You don't KNOW there isn't a God because you can't prove there isn't one, you already said so yourself above. Evidence does not make something true or false, it only makes it possible one way or the other. Just how do u know there is no God? Enlighten me.

  • please remember this: no one is born believing in god. they have to be taught. your side of this argument has to convince the rest of the world of two things:

    1) there is a god

    2) you know which of the hundreds of thousands of gods is the right one

absence of evidence is evidence of absence.

it's your responsibility to convince me, not the other way around. all i can say is that all of the evidence for a creator AND for the religions i've heard of is crap.

    what evidence convinced you?

  • You're right, no one is born believing. But this doesn't hold when you consider that 95% of the US believes in God. You can't reasonably say they've ALL been brainwashed, it doesn't hold up statistically or otherwise. Your explanation of "absence of evidence is evidence of absence" is an amazing scape goat and a sure theme of atheists. And THEN to pawn off my question of how you know there's no God, you tell me it's my job to convince you! Amazing. You have made a cake and iced it.

  • where are you getting this 95% number? and which god?

at one point the majority of people probably thought the world was flat. if someone had asked them to provide evidence, they should have realized that they had no reason to believe the world was flat.

i dont think you know what a scapegoat is. i do know that you have agreed the burden of proof is on the believer, yet you still have provided no proof.

here's why i THINK there is no god: there is no reason to think that there is a god.

  • But since you're right that I DO have a responsibility, albeit NOT to convince you, but to show you and allow yourself to determine what is truth and what is not. My evidence is mostly personal. Besides everything around me (earth in general) I've had otherwise unexplainable events in my life. Coincidence and randomness don't play any part, it wasn't a timing thing. These things are miraculous and soul shaking (in a good way). Each believer has his/her own story of how and why.

  • well if your evidence is entirely personal, then i hope you don't support people who try to force their god on other people or teach it in our schools. if you think that you know what your god wants and if you want to try to apply that to those around you, i hope you realize that you will need to justify your beliefs.

extraordinary claims, like the claim that you KNOW there is a god and you KNOW what he wants, require extraordinary evidence...personal "hunches" aren't evidence.

  • I know that this god loves humanity. it says so in the bible. I know there is a heaven, angels, and a savior of mankind named Jesus, Emanuel. Im not perfect, but i am free from sin. and know that ill see god when I die.i wish everyone believed that there creator loves them. god knows we need it. " Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.(mt 10 39). this life is meaningless without god. All the knowledge in the world is meaningless.

  • that's a very wicked thing to say. what you said is perfect evidence for why christianity is immoral and bad for people.

everything that humankind has struggled to create... health care, laws, all of it... appparently it doesnt mean jack shit because there's another life where we get to worship the dictator for all of eternity.

NOTHING matters to you brainwashed children. incredibly evil religion

  • You shouldn't gudge religion based on a couple of people, I do not believe that just because there is a next life doesn't mean we cant make the best of this life and live our lives with peace and respect to others

  • i judge it based on its foundational texts. jesus said "take no thought for tomorrow". ignore thrift, leave your family, go and follow him.

mrrichguy is following the bible literally. if you dont follow it literally, you're admitting some of it is bullshit. if you think that ANY of it is bullshit... the ark, the snake in the garden.... then who are you to say which parts are real and which arent?

a voice in someone's head that orders his people to murder the midionites is a force for evil.

  • I mean it'r true what u say but you can't follow the bible literally now in this days because things have changed, we don't dress like them and we don't do sacrifices anymore and that doesn't mean that we think some of it is BS

  • You live in a world of ignorance and you are 100% OK with it. In fact, to know that there was something more would rock you to the core. So much so that you still wouldn't believe even if the PROOF was right in front of you. I feel bad for individuals like yourself. I hold no contempt, I have no reason to. I'm just sorry that you're so stiffnecked and unable to see. You're "world" provides no comfort, no happiness, no hope. These are what you're missing, and will continue to until you find God.

  • There is always a reason for everything. Moreover, is matter of faith and that had been proven.

  • she looks good

  • Did you hear about the cheerleader who got Dystonia because of a flu shot? It's such a sad story:(

  • That cheerleader is so full of it....

  • they said there is no cure for dystonia but the pacemaker is

  • im so happy for her!!!

  • i know, isnt it amazing :')

  • God gave the knownledge to make the device and all things here on earth and the earth. duhhh

  • I once knew a kid that was dyslexic, but he was also cross-eyed so everything came out ok.

  • so now i know that some people suffers from this, i always thought it was mental retardness. I'm srry for the kids i judged

  • stop talking about god! this is a amazing thing that happended to a loveling girl that changed her life for ever! bless her

  • im still shocked how they fixed her :')

  • god does exist and if u dont beleive me then u will see when u die and go to hell

  • thank you doctor de salles good for you

    it's a miracle from GOD,

  • wow that's amazing. i thought there wasn't a cure for this?

  • Wow! She was walking completely normal!

  • i agree!!!

  • good for her

  • wow thats great they can treat this!

  • Amazing!!!!

    Hi, Veronica!!!!

  • Science and religion work hand in hand. Religion has been scientifically proven: Dimethyltryptamine. Religion could have cured her with some ayahuasca by a real shaman. Ayahuasca is known to cure diseases like that.

  • really

yeah if you want her to trip giraffe pussy, don't see how dmt could make her brain stop misfireing

  • religion was our first try at science. science has replaced the need for religion.

  • Religion has ABSOLUTELY NOT been scientifically proven. Why don't you post a link the the scientific journal rigorously reviewed and torn to shreds by the scientific community that proves religion is scientifically proven?

    It simply doesn't exist!

  • How much does this surgery cost? Will Medicare or Medicaid cover any of the surgery cost?

  • lol n1

    move to france

  • talk about rewarding.

  • humans are not special. biology is created when a correct chemical soup is created

  • i feel sorry for you non believers. i hope that one day you can open your mind and find the truth and realize that is is God who gives people the ability to do everything. read Science of God, combines both religion and science and makes good points on how they are related to each other.

  • no people came from an organic soup of chemicals and they developed brains and reasoning and science.

  • Science eliminates religion.

  • lol

  • Why would God want to make an implant for her to cure the condition if he could have simply made the condition go away?

  • God is a selfish 5 year old in outer space and hates playing on easy mode

  • Comment removed

  • god doesn't exist lol

  • how do u no

  • make*

  • God Has nothing to do with this.

God didn't help this girl, science and doctors did, so stop thanking god for something he didn't do.

  • PRAISE SCIENCE!

  • I tell all of you non believers you will find out that there is a god. Everyone will find out that there is a god. who invented science? god did. yes and you are reallymaking your point by cussing me out ohh big man!

  • this is a blessing from God that she could be saved from this disease. The doctors were blessed by God giving them the ability to learn what theyh do to do surgerys and everything!

  • Obviously it was science that fixed her, not God. But if people want to believe in God fixing her.. let them. Who are you all to say "stop thanking God he didn't do anything" etc. Who cares. Let people be.

  • Comment removed

  • Stop thanking god for something he didn't do.

You should be cussing out god for giving her the condition in the first place. Humans had to fix it.

Anyways, great work by the doctor. I'm really impressed.

  • :)!

  • Thats a blessing from God!

  • God?

If god existed would he get the girl that disease in the first place?

    There is no god.
