Not strictly a movie car, more of a TV car, BUT the 1955 Lincoln Futura. It did make it to the big screen in 1966, and would still be a hot ride today. Given the times and the characters involved, I think the Lincoln Futura was too much car to be in the hands of such campy owners.
you guys need to remember Eleanor from gone in 60 seconds! the judge from dukes, the starksy and hutch grand torino. kitts transam, fast and the furious' skyline r34 and mitsubishis, the list goes on! even jurassic park made the TJ cool!
BMW and Audi/Lamborghini (which do you think should have been is car?) in the Transporter.
We can't forget the Mini in the Italian Job chase scenes (both old and new). Classic.
Mitsubishi in 2fast2Furious. Nissan/Nismo in Tokyo Drift.
And speaking to the GM spot in TF3, remember GM > Fiat > Ferrari, so we'll see the beautiful new 458 Italia in TF3, though like the R8 and Stingray, I'm sure not for long. Hopefully its an autobot and doesnt get killed though.
I think I have some that could be movie stars. I'm thinking Focus RS and the GT-R (R35). Seeing the GT-R a little bit in Fast & Furious didn't amazed me that much.
@vlenhoff third time i've posted this actually here's what happened. GM paid back 4 billion dollars from a DIRECT loan from canadian and US gov'ts, but what they don't tell you is that between the two countries they bought like 80billion in GM stock to keep it from going under, essentially making GM owned by canadian and US gov'ts. they're no where near done paying back our gov'ts, and anyone can see that's pathetic, especially if you look how ford did with no bailout at all
The Mini Cooper for "The Italian Job"....The VW Beetle starring as "Herbie" for Disney. When the first "The Fast and the Furious" came out, everyone seemed to what the cars in that movie....my favorite one has the be "Gone in 60sec" remake the Selby GT500
What the Hell is happening to you guys. Where is Derik? If something is working and your growing, why change it? I felt like I was in a trainging class.
I wonder what the title of this one will be. The 2nd one had it's mistakes, but overall I liked it, the transformers characters always outdid most of the human characters.
The worst automotive product placement thus far would have to be Ford's hydrogen fuel cell concept Edge that was featured in James Bond: Quantum of Solace. Where is it? Not here. Having a working prototype 3 years ago without hitting the showroom sets Ford up to looks like they can't deliver on their own product placement...
For one of these episodes you should talk about classic or what to watch car movies and their significance in automotive culture or just have a top 5 or top 10 listing. I'd like to see what you guys have to say...
James bond didn't drive the 740, it was the 750iL. Q even says it in the movie, one of my all time favorite bond cars. But that movie in general wasn't so great lol.
did you know the car that has been featured the most in movies aside from aston martin and james bond, is mustang? Gone in 60 seconds, Bullitt, Death race, Knight rider, Dr. DoLittle i believe featured one with Murphy talking about it, the bucket list, of course I am legend, and it goes on and on, but i dont really recall a lot of different fords in movies, so good for mustang and ford to have that happen.
That new Vette looks like something ponitac would have made when they were making those over stylized plastic crapmobiles. b4 they started making the GTOs & G8s
one of the best product placements i think, is the charger in the first fast and furious, its a little after it came out, but that was such an awesome car. the lambo in cannonball run was also very good product placement
Next week you guys should talk about DTM, more specifically why there are only 2 manufacturers participating, what about BMW and other brands that would logically fit right in? Why won't they participate? And how Susie Stoddart is a hot piece of a- I mean wonderful and talented driver with a lot to offer the sport.
I know that most of you dont like roadtestament, but bare with me, they try their best to teach us most about motorsport and automotive history, i love that and i know that most of americans dont like that sum1 is teatching them, so me as eurpean take my hat down and salute you ! alex and rox, search net for buumer 1, 2 or 3, buumer stands for bmw in russian, its films made by russians about mostly maffia and bmw, if you find a good translation ur golden ! best of luck, your loyal watcher sander
Why mention 32:07 aka 32hours7minutes if it appears this movie is getting more and more delayed and never will be released JF. Seriously Alex do some screenings in major cities and get some viewer opinions you are a producer. Reading your book 3 times now is beginning to get boring without the seeing the film that I have been waiting for since 2004
2012 is awful movie, worse way to advertise cars is putting them in a crappy movie. Messy story plot, confusing and to much drama, finally so many close calls running away from collapsing world.
alright so I loved the spyker c8 with jet li driving it in the movie war. AND BY THE WAY IF GM HAS SO MUCH MONEY TO PUT INTO TRANSFORMERS THEN GIVE THE TAX PAYERS AND THE GOV'TS BACK THEIR DAMN MONEY!!!! F***king A**holes
@sehguh3 actually here's what happened.

@Sleyer07 and again that has been the second time I've posted about this very subject, can't you guys read, or at least watch the news instead of GM's propoganda?
We all don't hate you guys!! Typical policy from F1...So full of themselves.......They are rapidly getting more & more irrelevant in todays' motoring world. PS...The "new" Vette is butt ugly.....looks like a childs plastic toy. I do so wish these so-called designers would grow up...& give us a car we can be proud to own.
i think the best car placement would be vanishing point,i really wish more movies would make the car the focus of the actual film.i dont give half a shit about an "action hero",but, vanishing point had a crackhead jew running from the cops in a dodge and was such a succesful movie, people still PAY to see it.i think GM should start a vingtage car movie line...do movies where the cars are the focus...all the old SS models should get their own movies...yes,that would be sexy, and i'd see every one!!!
@saavaa You should hookup with Lance29 [whatever his tag is] Then, between him and you, FLD viewers will only be able to read thousands of your repetitive [and boring, BTW] comments about 'Corvette is King' and 'Leo is Old'.
I can't believe you guys missed out Fiat. All the Fiats in the Italian job were provided by Fiat, including the Miura that crashes at the beginning. Fiat offered money for the film to use 500's instead of minis (Which they bought most at full retail price).
Bond should never have had a BMW. Only villains should have German cars in a Bond film
Best car and driver pairings would be Gene Hunt and the Quattro, The Saints Volvo and best of all, Steeds Bentley in the Avengers
VOLVO in that bull twilight is the worst because its not special, its just safe - if u are hero you don't give a f*ck if your car is safe ....it gotta be sexi and powerful as hell
I liked the mustang in the bullit movie, all the astons and bmw in the 007s, the first transporter movie, i thing was a 7 series BMW, but the sequels for this movie are shit, no car must be remembered by this movies. The Italian Job minis are OK too.
The Mini and the Italian Job, James Dean and the 550 and if I could make a wish I'd really like to see that Under water Lotus Elise in the next James Bond film not that I would because he doesn't have cool high tech fun stuff any more. I think the best concept car though was the Miata Mono Posto
My first like for these two dudes JF if you want to be on TV or the Internet, whether you like him or not go sit down with Derek D.
I showed this to my buddy who's a comedian at second city in Chicago he is not even a car guy and the one thing he said it is DerekD.. knows how to do give-and-take and back and forth very well. In fact, he said he has a natural talent for it So do some exercises with him and I'm sure you'll be a lot better and I will become a weekly viewer
@EASiedlecki wow, wrong on both counts the corvette is the best looking since the Stingray and would a billionaire ever drive a R8. Ferrari, McLaren, Bentley, Rolls Royce those are the the kinds of car Iron Man would drive.
@evan1855 You're absolutely right. Since I have a differing opinion, I am clearly wrong. Also, you most definitely haven't been paying attention when you watch superhero movies lately, because in Iron Man, there's and Audi R8, and in Iron Man 2, there is an R8 Spyder. At the very least do a little bit of research before you go making a fool of yourself.
The Transformers series is lacking a good chase scene. They have touched apon it briefly but I feel that M. Bay has not embraced a good car chase in the Transformers series. Agree or disagree?
I am legend was not just the GT500. When i watched it all I kept noticing was all the other fords in that movie: All the Explorers, Expeditions and Crown Vics
worst would be japanese cars in general in the fast and the furious series. started the whole ricer thing in america. gross.
best would be mitsubishi's in jackie chan films. he's been sponsored by mitsubishi for so long they gave him his own special addiction evo, dragon evo or soemthing i dont rememebr google it.
@VinnyGuana i find your comment disconcerting. Fast and furious did not start the "ricer thing" in the US. What it did do what bring it to the public eye. Furthermore, not all japanese cars are ricemobiles. The skylines and supras are high performance sports cars than can hang with the best from Europe and NA.
@Bahamuttiamat i didn't say japanese cars. i said japanese cars in fast and the furious. im a big ass honda fanboy. hahaha hate me. but vtec all the effing way. and im talking shizz about ricing? isnt' that ironic. no its cuz liek you i don't believe all japanese cars are ricerockets. and u just kinda contradicted yourself when you said "Fast and furious did not start the "ricer thing" in the US. What it did do what bring it to the public eye. " aren't they the same thing? fnfmade ricing popular
What about BMW and Audi in the Transporter movies? I don't know if that was anything to do with manufacturers getting involved in placement, but those cars were primary features in those movies.

i think the best car placement would be vanishing point,i really wish more movies would make the car the focus of the actual film.i dont give half a shit about an "action hero",but, vanishing point had a crackhead jew running from the cops in a dodge and was such a succesful movie, people still PAY to see it.i think GM should start a vingtage car movie line...do movies where the cars are the focus...all the old SS models should get their own movies...yes,that would be sexy, and i'd see every one!!!

@saavaa You should hookup with Lance29 [whatever his tag is] Then, between him and you, FLD viewers will only be able to read thousands of your repetitive [and boring, BTW] comments about 'Corvette is King' and 'Leo is Old'.
Or is it Corvette is Old and Leo is.......??
Hey, saavaa. Give it up, I aint' going away! Ha.

Mini in the Italian Job movies.

NOOOO best one ever is transporter (movie) audi !!!!
paul7536 1 year ago
I liked the mustang in the bullit movie, all the astons and bmw in the 007s, the first transporter movie, i thing was a 7 series BMW, but the sequels for this movie are shit, no car must be remembered by this movies. The Italian Job minis are OK too.
Ronin are one of the best indeed.

The Mini and the Italian Job, James Dean and the 550 and if I could make a wish I'd really like to see that Under water Lotus Elise in the next James Bond film not that I would because he doesn't have cool high tech fun stuff any more. I think the best concept car though was the Miata Mono Posto

Jason Bourne (Matt Damon) for the Worst cars to be seen in.
"James Bond drives a pimped out Aston Martin that costs more than all the cars Bourne has ever driven.... combined!"
You can only watch machine guns and missiles pop out of Aston Martins, JAGs and BMWs so many times before it just becomes silly fake.
There are too many to list;
Bourne Identity 2002
-Piaggio Ape TM P703
-Late 1980s Mini
-Piaggio Liberty
plus Bourne Supremacy & Ultimatum

My first like for these two dudes JF if you want to be on TV or the Internet, whether you like him or not go sit down with Derek D.
I showed this to my buddy who's a comedian at second city in Chicago he is not even a car guy and the one thing he said it is DerekD.. knows how to do give-and-take and back and forth very well. In fact, he said he has a natural talent for it So do some exercises with him and I'm sure you'll be a lot better and I will become a weekly viewer

The Mustang in Bullitt wasn't a Shelby Mustang GT500, it was a regular Mustang GT with the 390ci S-Code engine.

That corvette is so hideous.
Also, Iron Man: R8
EASiedlecki 1 year ago
@EASiedlecki wow, wrong on both counts the corvette is the best looking since the Stingray and would a billionaire ever drive a R8. Ferrari, McLaren, Bentley, Rolls Royce those are the the kinds of car Iron Man would drive.
evan1855 1 year ago
@evan1855 You're absolutely right. Since I have a differing opinion, I am clearly wrong. Also, you most definitely haven't been paying attention when you watch superhero movies lately, because in Iron Man, there's and Audi R8, and in Iron Man 2, there is an R8 Spyder. At the very least do a little bit of research before you go making a fool of yourself.

The Transformers series is lacking a good chase scene. They have touched apon it briefly but I feel that M. Bay has not embraced a good car chase in the Transformers series. Agree or disagree?

worst would be japanese cars in general in the fast and the furious series. started the whole ricer thing in america. gross.
best would be mitsubishi's in jackie chan films. he's been sponsored by mitsubishi for so long they gave him his own special addiction evo, dragon evo or soemthing i dont rememebr google it.
VinnyGuana 1 year ago 2
@VinnyGuana i find your comment disconcerting. Fast and furious did not start the "ricer thing" in the US. What it did do what bring it to the public eye. Furthermore, not all japanese cars are ricemobiles. The skylines and supras are high performance sports cars than can hang with the best from Europe and NA.
Bahamuttiamat 1 year ago
