yea the cars are awesome... not going to argue that, but if you think pistons and rings springs rockers gaskets and all the bearings are "already broken in from the factory" you're wrong. there is no such thing. the only way to break them in are use and heat cycles. lsx motors do like to be broken in a little bit harder than older lt style motors though.

nobody realizes that ALL cars are broken in at the factory, testing the motor doesnt put miles on it, they run them at high speeds and check all specs, you're meant to buy a car like the Z06 off the lot and beat the hell out of it.
You are spot on target. That is the DUMBEST thing you can do to brand new engine. There is a thing called, "break in period". This Z06will end up in a auto cementary sooner than later. Oh well they are living proof Beavis and Butthead are alive and well.
Dont get me wrong, its a nice car and all. But I'd rather pick up a mid 90s series LT1 and save at least 70k and dump about 20 grand in the engine. Everything about a vette is cool except the price tag. I'm sure eventually way down the road it would retain is value. But not anytime soon.

actually there is no wear in period anymore, the power train is factory worn in before its even installed in the car. The engine and trans has to perform for 24 hours straight before they approve it for use in their corvette lineup.

nobody realizes that ALL cars are broken in at the factory, testing the motor doesnt put miles on it, they run them at high speeds and check all specs, you're meant to buy a car like the Z06 off the lot and beat the hell out of it.

You are spot on target. That is the DUMBEST thing you can do to brand new engine. There is a thing called, "break in period". This Z06will end up in a auto cementary sooner than later. Oh well they are living proof Beavis and Butthead are alive and well.

Dont get me wrong, its a nice car and all. But I'd rather pick up a mid 90s series LT1 and save at least 70k and dump about 20 grand in the engine. Everything about a vette is cool except the price tag. I'm sure eventually way down the road it would retain is value. But not anytime soon.

actually there is no wear in period anymore, the power train is factory worn in before its even installed in the car. The engine and trans has to perform for 24 hours straight before they approve it for use in their corvette lineup.

Actually, you're not soposed to rev is past 4,000 rpm. The GM LS7 hot testing includes a 7 minute consecutive rev of the motor @4,200 RPM. Also, judging by the driver's adititude, it's probably not his car.. I feel sorry for the bastard that it's going to... Actually, no, I take that back.

first time driving it and you dump the clutch. Learn to not rev it past 3000, the valves and gaskets in the engine need to settle properly, reving it up is not good for it whens shes a baby.

You get more than that. The Z06 is lighter (carbon fiber floor), more agile (magnesium-alloy frame), and more stable at high speeds (improved aerodynamics). Plus, the ZO6 is a torque monster!
