This is the first anime that I've ever shed a tear over when I got to the ending.

"What's the fate of my most favorite anime character of all time? Is he dead? Is he still alive? Will I ever get an answer?"

Not knowing the answer to these questions started to make me cry. But, then I realized:

If he's alive, then that's good. If he's dead, then he at least took care of his business before he went out in a final blaze of glory.

I remeber watching this last episode when I was a teenager, I cried when the gang went separate ways but cried more when Spike died, I didn't want our cowboy to die and went to conferm it, the creators didn't say he was dead or not. He was not dead but Free... Did what he had to do since the begining and kicked Vicious's butt, find/'save' Julia, bountry huntered and helped others in his spare time now he's Free. The Dream is over, Reality and Julia is waiting for him in Heaven.

If I was to take a guess Jet got back with ISSP because Bounty hunting was never a good option for him and Spike death made things worse aswell becuase there partnership sparked their bounty hunting career, Ed stayed on Earth for good becuase she'd realised her dad actually did want her to stay with him and Faye died mainly becuase living with the Bebop crew only helped her heal her amnesia which to be honest worsened things for her. It's a sad ending...

Anybody else notice the white birds in the beginning of the song, at around the :40 mark? I'm not sure if this is coincidence; when a certain other character met her untimely end a flock of white birds flew behind her.

I wonder if they represent death in general, or if those are the same birds that were there when she died, almost telling Spike: "I'm still with you."

"i'm ascending..." it's so.... perfect. as if she's come to this stunning realization and she's completely entranced with it. theres so much resolution and epiphany yet also so much happiness.
