I totally hate this game, sorry I do. I think it is soulless and there is no reason to play it, even for Turtles fans, when you can play SSBB. ALso I would rather recommend Turtles Tournament Fighters. With that being said, its interesting to see how opinions over games can differ from person to person. If you enjoy it, you enjoy it, and thats all that matter. Just thought this game would totally bomb.

This isn't a clone, just because super smash bros is the first game of its type and this game is in the same style doesn't make it a clone... you as a reviewer should know that

@kid356 most of the games out are clones of some game. but people dont call them clones because there are many of them. super smash is a totally unique game, there is not a single game like it until this TMNT game, therefore it's a "clone" because this is the first game to use the same formula as super smash.

I hope everyone knows that Utrominator is really Krang.,,I saw in an interview with the creators an they said he is Krang but with an upgrade.....and u have to give them credit for putting him in their due to EXTREME licensing issues and all u TMNT fans should stop being so picky just cause of a different name and much cooler look cause it's the same guy..

Yeh so they biffed it hard on this game they used the shitty CGI characters from the TMNT movie, had no original voices, music or looks besides the the Technodrone in the background.I grew up during the original series's peek. So when I play this I as myself, where is Baxter Stockman (normal or as the mutated fly), Beebop, Rocksteady, Krang, Usagi (the Samurai Rabbit) Lotus Blossom, Tolka, Razaar, Slash, and possibly Leatherhead and the Rat King. They didnt use any original source material.

i recently got this game, its sweet. very much like a smash bros but not as cool. that is a bummer to have wasted the space for stupid rabbits. are the rabbits tmnt characters? i don't watch the show. a sequal would be cool if they make one but without the important flaws of forgetting important characters.

One Question though, how long does Ubisoft have the license? If they have it longer, then they can make another smash-up title and add characters that fans want to see.

I'm wasn't a fan of the series, but this game got me into TMNT. :-) I enjoy this series very much!

everyone needs to watch the movie, "turtles forever."

"turtles forever" is probably the best thing they could have done for the anniversary thing. it's got the new turtles, 80's turtles, and even the comic book turtles.

pretty much...it was infinite crisis with ninja turtles.

some people might get offended by the portrayal of the 80's turtles though. their campiness was exaggerated, but i thought it worked.

Your review is so much more in-depth than those IGN lame comparers, who did nothing but bash it, coz it wasn't EXACTLY like Brawl! Isn't the whole point to re-create the formula, but add twists for the Ninja feel? You hit the spot by addressing that. As for online...I don't believe EVERYONE has a laggy experience. Even for Brawl. I may or may not pick this game up. Maybe at a cheap price.

I have to agree with what you say about the character roster being short. I mean, it's the TMNT's 25th Anniversary, so there is no excuse to not have any of the other characters and villains we grew up with. Instead, Peter Laird sticks to the 2003 animated series and the recent movie? Talk about Peter Laird being picky! Anyway, I liked the review! :)

nice review k-wing i have to agree everything what you said about TMNT smash-up its a shame ubi soft didnt use the charecters from the 1987 version of tmnt like krang, baxter stokeman, and bebop and rocksteady and what's really a shame the composer takahiro nishi didnt use the classic 1987 turtles theme although the music is decent but it wouldve been nice to hear the good old 1987 turtles again oh well i hope that TMNT arcade attack for the DS would be better great job with the review k-wing

It sure is. I'm just glad that this game FINALLY got a decent review. So-called game reviewers like IGN, Gamtrailers, and Gamespot didn't even give this game enough credit.

What most game reviewers nowadays always forget to mention is whether or not the game is fun. They always nitpick on stuff that has nothing to do with the game play and use it to lower the game's score. I don't care what issues you got on the game or how much game companies pay you to heighten the game score.
