Yeah, this was my first MMO. I remember my grandparents were pretty pissed at me for the $300 bill. AOL probably made tons of money that way. When EA bought it out, that sparked my hatred for the company and I still detest them to this day.

This was a true classic. I used to play this a lot in the 90s on AOL then Gamestorm. I had a level 19 wizard/17th skill level, level 18/16 MA, 17/15 Thaum, and a 15 or 16 Thief.
It was funny when the Overlord Staff was powerful. I skilled my staff skill on the wizard to a point I could solo all the main bosses in the game. The hardest ones were actually the Drakes not Mama. Those lightning strikes could stun you and get you killed. Mama wasn't too bad since you could block most attacks.
LoL brick. i gave you a thumbs up because your right to a certain extent, and wrong in another.
The community isnt a bad community, but your right that its full of backstabbers. they are everywhere, and only show your face if they can get you banned for somthing.
its been 4 years now since ive actually played LoK. good thing i quit, i tried that AG on a buddies account. i give the AG -5 simply for the fact the game was more or less turned into somthing it wasnt
The community was the best thing about this game, never has been a more helpful funloving game-community since then :) I still love playing it, when I am sick of hi-end graphic games that are so easy to master, this game has no nooby how-to-get max level in X days, still takes lots of time/skillwork to attain highest levels :)

I used to play the crap out of this game on Gamestorm back when I was about 14. You really needed an imagination to enjoy this game, because the graphics were horrible even by 1998 standards. But the game had a great community. The first time I logged in, a higher level player spent an hour taking me around Kesmai and showing me how to play - and a couple days later helped me with the Knight's quest. I don't think we ever rolled for loot, either.
I dont think the graphics were bad. It mixed well with the gameplay. Glad to hear you enjoyed it though. ;) The first Knights quest was always a bit tricky for beginners.

i used to be a jerk on this game. once i had this female character n went to lockers and asked this knight to help me w/ a quest n hes like sure! so i have him follo me to the alter and make him recite the lines to kill himself; he died, dropped all his gear then i scooped em up n ancestored them to meself. i also took dis ma's cg's by askin to show me then i kept dem and wen he was gone i ran down to ancestor em, karma got me tho and someone killed me and took me blu flame cloak
yeh u can, it doesnt matter who the weapon was from. i once picked up a a diamond staff someone left on a table in lockers and obviously couldnt use it as it was tied to someone else. i went down and did the ancestor quest and bam, had a low level with it castin mad spells with it and cloak

Unfortunately the only way this game will be playable is if a corporation takes over and runs it. Until then have fun pretending to be happy on your fake servers. The point is you didnt play LOK. How can you say a game sucks when you havent even played it? I've played alot of next gen mmorpgs, I just dont like them. Why would I want to pay $50 for a game then pay a $20 monthly fee when the game has no replay value and you can beat it in a few days? I just dont see the logic in that. Like WoW, that was fun for a few days, but after that it just got boring. Some of us like a challenge. To my knowledge there are no current mmorpgs that provide any.
The challenge is taking your skill and dedication to the next level. To the point where you and your group are so organized that the opposition either focuses attacks on you or just quit the game. I guess you wouldn't get that far with a few days of playing.
And I wouldn't want to play a game that has no interest in improving itself to meet today's standards.

None of the current servers will merge. To many egos running the show. Last I checked, there were several LOK projects. Its not a fact that LOK is old so nobody plays it anymore because runescape, and some other online rpgs are old but they have a big community. Those games have alot of people b/c its constantly updated, and the people running the show wouldn't jeopordize losing everything with their egos. Think back to late 04 when lok started to come back.
Back then LOK actually had a chance when most people who played the game before started to play again along with new people coming and going. Now a couple years later more people quit playing lok then actually stayed. What does that tell you? They must be doing something wrong to make people leave and people who have never heard of the game before become not interested in playing. Only the misguided loyalists stay and the numbers rapidly deteriate every year. LOK is shot sorry to say.

In fact its so low that the admins dont perm ban every player that continuously breaks rules, and thus takes them back after a 1-2 week ban. That suggests their desperate for people to play.

LOKFreedom Server is in fact like gamestorm's
original, and as for no code, yes we have the code and have been updating far back as 2005.
As you see when you come to the lokfreedom website, we have over 1,000 members and are growing each day. This battle of the servers is getting quite old. All i can say is come by our LOKFreedom community forums and take a look for yourselves.
Lands of Kes has completed the Gamestorm version of LOK. They have also just added the Advanced Game from IOK adding 4 New Lands, New Quests and New Content to explore. Never before has LOK gone this far.
LOKFreedom and Legends Reloaded are using hacked versions of the Lands of Kes server from early 2004. They have an incomplete game, no code to modify, and have very few players playing.
Google Lands of Kes (or legends of kesmai) and go play the game that goes beyond LOK from GameStorm.
This was the first game my Guild ever was created in.......in 1997 I think........ or 98 hehe :) We still live as a guild tho have moved thru many games now........this one I NEVER Forget! :) Ever :)
anyway its a free game they make your account really fast took a day for me to get an account its really fun and there have been a lot of imporvments in it since the original game including new lands have been added.

well they can freely browse the lokfreedom forums, but the have to go threw all thoses secret channel to view your forums, and whos gonna vouch for them to get them invited to your server? hmm well ok let them do the research..

Lands of Kes has over 1780 members all paired with game accounts. Your 1000 members are not all paired with game accounts.
We have built the AG lands as a community from scratch. Something that has never been done before.
Lands of Kes have more players, features and content than LOKFreedom.
LOKFreedom has no place and is out of date.

Yeah, I Would have to agree with LOKproject.
LOKFreedom would be the way to go. I'm all about joining a great community. and found it there.

LOKFreedom Server is in fact like gamestorm's
original, and as for no code, yes we have the code and have been updating far back as 2005.
As you see when you come to the lokfreedom website, we have over 1,000 members and are growing each day. This battle of the servers is getting quite old. All i can say is come by our LOKFreedom community forums and take a look for yourselves.

Lands of Kes has completed the Gamestorm version of LOK. They have also just added the Advanced Game from IOK adding 4 New Lands, New Quests and New Content to explore. Never before has LOK gone this far.
LOKFreedom and Legends Reloaded are using hacked versions of the Lands of Kes server from early 2004. They have an incomplete game, no code to modify, and have very few players playing.
Google Lands of Kes (or legends of kesmai) and go play the game that goes beyond LOK from GameStorm.

This was the first game my Guild ever was created in.......in 1997 I think........ or 98 hehe :) We still live as a guild tho have moved thru many games now........this one I NEVER Forget! :) Ever :)

anyway its a free game they make your account really fast took a day for me to get an account its really fun and there have been a lot of imporvments in it since the original game including new lands have been added.
