Musicians simply have to do more live shows instead of relying on recordings for revenues. A good thing about pirating is that the artist will be known by larger audiences. Sure he/she is losing some money right now, but in the long run, it's much more beneficial.

People will always share files uncontrollably on the internet and its impossible to catch them without breaking their privacy rights unless you download a tracked file that they put out their to catch illegal downloaders but if you are too stupid to read comments on files (ex. The Pirate Bay) and see that its safe and legit then stop downloading
