wow that is lazy gybing, you have to sheet in lots and bear away at the same time in lasers, otherwise you will go for a swim! Surprised you didn;t here. Also, you are jumping around the boat too much, smooth movements!
if u stopped bouncing around all the time and let ur kicker of a bit more down wind you might not of broken it yet. ive been sailing for 7 years now first i a topper now in laser standard and ive never broken a mast. learn to sail jeez!!=!
haha im 6'6 and a half and weigh 12.5 stone and i sail a standard. i think it is ur technique as ur not even hiking in what u claim to be alot of wind. if it was windy and ur not powered up maybey u should. man up and sail the right boat!!!
@SuperWeeksey Correct me if im wrong but dont you want the kicker tight in wavy weather so the boom isnt bouncing up and down creating luff pockets in the sail?
I did mine... and it seems like it was in the same place (just above the plastic neck on the top section). But I did mine luffing up round a mark onto a beat in 35 knots.
nice break ive done my twice now :( both in the same year....one was in 40knts i was proud of that, and the other was in 3knts im not proud of that one :(
i still don't get why the laser is that popular. if you ask me, it just sucks in any kind of way...
