  • is this more latin spanish than Spain's spanish?

  • @mrmultispark

    This is SPAIN-ish

The easiest way to differentiate between the dialects is if you hear the LL pronounce as 'Y' or 'zz'.

It is pronounce as Y in Spain and Zz in South America.

Eg. SPAIN: Como te llamas (COH-mo te yah-mas) ARGENTINA: Como te llamas (COH-mo te zha-mas)

Also, Vosotros is only used in Spain

  • Why is the teacher devoting time talking about recognizing an isolated verb?

To become fluent, you need practice with conversations, not by becoming a walking dictionary.

  • @sebfed90 how can i reach you on the just kidding i dont speak english or french only spanish

  • "There is NO WORD in Spanish which finishes in -ar, -er and -ir which isn't a verb."

Well, this is not exactly true. It sometimes could be a noun when the infinitive form of the verb is treated as it were. For example: "Mi CANTAR es maravilloso*." means the same as "Mi manera de cantar es maravillosa." that, in English, means "My way of singing is wonderful."

Infinitive verbs treated as nouns are always masculine nouns.

Hope this example could help someone.

  • Ser is used to identify people, places, or objects; to tell time and to say when an event occurs; to express the nationality and place of origin of a person or object; to state a person's profession or occupation; to express possession, with the preposition de; to identify the material of which something is made, with the preposition de.

  • @FranOfSpain oh THANKS

  • @FranOfSpain KOKOROKO KOKOKOKOKO :))

  • STOP ROLLING THE R WHEN ITS ONLY ONE R ! ONLY TWO RR's make that sound. I speak english, but that annoys me.

  • "lugar"(place) isn't a verb and it finishes in -ar

  • why am i looking at this i know how to speak spanish

  • Ok, watching this video almost screwed me up on my quiz because vosotros is sois, NOT son. -_- Good thing I looked it up on my book.

  • @SkyOfAria as you are from USA you should use "son", because is the way it is spoken in America

  • VOSOTROS / VOSOTRAS SOIS

  • Word that isn't a verb but ends in ar, El mar. Can't even be bothered to think of more, so I'm not listening.

  • nosotros/nosotras if male group or female group... what if there is a mixed group?

  • @bsercoe if its a mixed group, we use "male" form -nosotros-

  • @bsercoe In that case is "nosotros"

  • Hi guys, you can get 11 very professional Spanish lessons in My channel

  • Gracias a tí easyspanish. hablas el ingles muy bien en verdad.

  • Me gusta estas lecciones pque puedo aprender mucho ingles tambien. Jajaja.

Pero Vosotros son es incorrecto, decimos en espana Vosotros SOIS.

  • i do not speak spanish and am trying to learn so is what he saying is right ?

  • To be fair, vosotros is only used in Spain. South American Spanish speakers do not use vosotros, so perhaps he isn't familiar with it.

  • the pronoun "it" could also be like "eso or esa"... It is = Eso es / Esa es, but just only referring to things not people and could not always be applicable, other times you'll need to use "that".

  • I have a small question.. It looks to me that their are 3 diffrent ways to say the word 'are' in spanish. But i don't know when to use eaither one of them.

Like in the statement Tu eres, could you say Tu Somos, or Tu Son?

    Just wondering.. Because its confusing me a tad, and i really want to impress my uncle.. ^_^;

btw ur teaching is muy muy bien! Muchos Gracias for teaching a noob like me :P

  • @XXXDokiCupcakesXXXX you are (singular) is "tu eres" you are (plural) is "ustedes son" and we are is "nosotros somos". you see for TU = ERES, for USTEDES = SON and for NOSOTROS = SOMOS. Hope i cleared out your doubt =D. If i didn't then go to my channel and send me a message =D. ♥

  • @26148549 Muchos Gracias mi amigo!

Tu eres muy muy bien at Esponal! Tu hecho mi muy felith!

    Gracias! =D

    (( good scentence structure?))

  • @XXXDokiCupcakesXXXX You use Ser when it is something more permanent. For example, you would say "soy alto" (I am tall) to say that you are a tall person. That is a part of who you are and its something more long-term. You would use Estar for things that are more temporary. So you say "Estoy bien" (I am good). Because it's an emotion, a passing state, you use Estar.

You never mix the conjugations. So you would not say Tu soy, or nosotros eres. That doesn't make sense. It's always Yo soy, etc.

  • anyone want learn spanish?? I teach to you!!

    answer this coment

  • @hellomycating I am going to Spain in September. Just started learning. Can you help me?

  • @hellomycating i want to learn. i will teach you greek as an exchange hehe

  • @sasoulas ok, but i can start at this monday...

  • Tú eres vida!

  • equador accent lol! i can tell

  • are both of these correct to say for "I am good":

    yo estoy bien

    yo soy bueno

  • @z3187746 si

  • @z3187746 No, the correct one is: soy bueno in the sense of I'm kind and gentle...the first one: yo estoy bien is used to say: I'm okay here, I'm confortable.

    For exemple:

-Oh! its cold here. Don't you think so?

    -No, Yo estoy bien.

    Exemple 2:

    -You must be kind Pablo!

-I know mum, yo soy bueno

  • @z3187746 Yo estoy bien means "I am good" as in emotional state. You are feeling good. Yo soy bueno mean "I am good" as in characteristic trait. You are a good person.

    Really basic explanation:

Ser - more of a permanent form of "to be". Things that don't typically change, like hair colour, height, etc.

Estoy - more of a state, or temporary form of "to be". Especially emotions, like "bien" for good or "mal" for bad. You feel good or bad.

  • it significa eso como

wath IT is? que es ESO

  • NO NO NO

I´m spanish and isn´t "VOSOTROS SON" really is "VOSOTROS SOIS"

  • @FranOfSpain i am Greek, and even I know that it is vosotros SOIS. tis lesson is wrong. you are right

  • @FranOfSpain You mean you're hispanic :]

  • @Perfectly2Imperfect being Spanish or Hispanic are totally different mi amigo.

  • @FranOfSpain well im assuming you are from spain from your name but mexio and other countries use ustedes so maybe the guy wasnt very educated on that and is just going with what he knows

  • @FranOfSpain he made that point clear that it was vosotros sois

  • @FranOfSpain tarado el español internacional es diferente al de españa,deja de imponer tus reglas, 500 millones de Latinos estan acorde con lo que digo

  • Comment removed

  • @FranOfSpain En canarias decimos ustedes son...Eso depende del dialecto ¬¬

  • @FranOfSpain It depend of the region, cause in Canary islands, South America, Puerto Rico and other sites, its something common to use "ustedes son" but never "vosotros son"

  • Is it too hard to learn spanish? My first language is spanish and I don't know if learning it is hard...

  • @K2rocksmyworld yes its very hard to learn spanish.. because yall have like 12 different words that can be used to describe one word lol.. in english one word only means one word 90 perscent of the time

  • You forgot "usted es".

  • this is very good , I see it's much easier for me I think

  • thi helped me alot

  • Error:

'Vosotros son' es un error. Es Vosotros sois.

  • hi man!!!! what about with VOSOTROS!!!! VOSOTROS SON is a mistake

    please learn spanish!!!

    ustedes son

    vosotros sois

  • You can grab a dictionary and get the very same information. This type of instruction will never get u speaking. NEVER.

  • I really like your lessons...Thanks

  • @4ever0o0themusic Hey. I would love to have someone to practice my Spanish with. It looks like your English is already excellent. If you genuinely want someone to chat with in our languages, I would be interested:)

  • awesome. thank you very much, ill follow your lessons, with the goals te be able to talk to latina chicks:D

  • @marinowisch isnt that the only goal :D

  • @marinowisch why dont you let us latino men talk to the latina chicks buddy.

  • @JokerKlownX a latino guy is learning spanish?

you must be a slow learner :P

  • lol steeeve

  • That was an excellent lesson!

  • isnt it "sois" for you plural?

  • yes, but remember that in Spanish we have two ways to say the ''you plural'':

    ''Ustedes'' and ''Vosotros''.

    for ''Ustedes'' is SON

    and for ''Vosotros'' is SOIS

but don't worry, In México and in the other latin america countries we use ''ustedes'' and only in Spain is where they use ''vosotros''

  • tousmouline....oho

  • What I liked about you is that you don't talk fast like other people. Thus, making it easier for the students to 'think and

Memorize' when they are listening to you. You remind me of a teacher in my unuvesity. Keep up the good work.

  • You great! This has really helped me alot! I subscribe, keep up the good work!

  • you are an excellent teacher with very sexy accent:)

    Keep up with teaching!!!!

  • Tu eres pato

  • Tu eres tambien.

  • When I am referring to we but we are a mixed group of males and females, do I use "nosotros" o nosotras?

  • it will always be the masculine versions in a mixed groups of males and females.Nosotros

  • when u r talkin bout your group of people which contains men n women u must use NOSOTROS, u use NOSOTRAS only when everyone is woman.. hope it helps..

  • @lTHRICEl

in that case you have to use "Nosotros".

e.g. we didn't do that = Nosotros no hicimos eso.

    Hope it helped.

  • muy bien leccion!

  • tu eres

    usted es

    or

    ustedes son

  • error: You are = Ustedes SON or Vosotros SOIS not SON

  • Learn Spanish language here, watch?v=CeBD6cn96LI

  • lugar=place

    hogar=home

    azúcar=sugar

    alfiler=pin

    bar=bar

    telar=loom

    pinar=pinegrove

  • thumbs up man, we need more people like you lol

  • That doesn't contradict what he said, what would contradict him would be if you could find a verb which didn't have those endings.

Are there any? He said that there aren't.

  • There are words ending in ar er ir that they are not verbs:

    it is Vosotros sois!!!!

  • el segundo idioma de EE UU jejeje en 2050 en EE UU hablaran el 50% el español

  • Yeah well I'll be an old man anyway so I wouldn't care anyway. Maybe the spanish people but I'm just not sure if they american kids will learn spanish especially high school kids who think they are too good for anything, trust me I was one of them. Anyway schools, TV, movies will always be in english so I'm sure if I'm buying this 50% of people will speak spanish. I mean the spanish kids are still going to english schools and raised watching movies and TV in english, me and my sisters did that.

  • if you want to learn spanish fast and properly go to my spanish review video to get the link to download the visual link spanish program. by far the best way to learn spanish i found go to it and you'll see what i mean.

  • somos is plural and eres is singular. i hope it helps you

  • "You are" is not son.

    It's "sois",

    Soy

    Eres

    Es

    Somos

    Sois

    Son

If you get it wrong with this things you will have a struggle when you are learning the other verbs!

  • @snygganallen

Mmm....in the spanish from ''Spain'' in the latin we don't use ''sois'' !!!

  • You apparently didn't watch the entire video. He mentions Sois just before the 9 minute mark.

  • Hi Im Riley and i have a question, why does somos and eres both mean are. Does it depend on what word you use it on. Would Tu Somos still mean you are.

    Thanks : )

  • @PastryPanic0506

Because ''you are'' is singular I guess....and if it's singular you use '' eres '' but if it's plural you use '' somos''.

So no, you can't say '' tu somos '' would be like mix the singular with the plural o.O

  • u said its vosotros=son which it isnt its sois but its fine since nobody uses vosotros

  • @shambayati195 In Latin America don't use de vosotros but in Spain they do.

  • yeah i know you rarely use it

  • I will say we don't even rarely use it xD

  • Usted, in singular, has the same termination than él. They forgot that.

enjoy learning my language is very beautiful :)

  • Amo mi pine.

  • Thank you very helpful.

  • actually you can just say ex. instead of yo soy you can say just soy the word I yo is optinol!!!!!!!!!!

  • you're a funny guy!

  • homeboy...

  • I am = Yo soy (it is good), but sometimes we, "the latin americans" don't say(use) Yo, we just say(use) Soy without YO, for example, Soy un doctor = I am a doctor (I´m a doctor)..., we don't say Yo soy un doctor, we just say Soy un doctor, hope this could be helpful

  • thanks you so much you really help me.

  • ihatewez is a dumbass. yo soy doesnt mean i i am. you do not have to use yo but people do. if you were any smarter or a native speaker you would understand.
