i love this song. Undoubtedly, Haily will never be the same as Sarah, although she shouldn't get completely neglected as a very talented person. Both singers are very well trained and use their voices in the best ways possible. As a younger person, I honestly feel a little overwhelmed by the amount of talent in this song, both versions. Congrats to Sarah, Hailey, And Andrea for making this song an amazing addition to my list of favorites.
@sthefy97....it is not so hard to learn the lyrics phonetically even if you do not know the foreign language....so please do not praise her for using foreign language but for the way she uses her voice for singing

I think Hayley did a very creditable job on this song. She cannot be compared to Dame Sarah, but she held her own, especially on the last not as I thought she would falter there but she held up well.

You are correct though. Jackie's performance does not come close to Sarah's. It blows her away as does Mirusia Louwerse. Mirusia could stand next to Sarah singing TTSGB AND Sarah would be so out done she would probably walk off the stage!!

Sarah's voice is unsurpassed to me because of the quality, but also becaus she know how to use it, how to style each peice she sings and give it something that can make it her own. Her understanding of musicality and how the voice works throughout. That is my opinion.

@immature0916 No, you are correct, she's been missing the center of the pitch the whole time, on last note, she could not sustain the note and therefore went flat. Bocelli did not miss the pitch by much, it is the girls voice that misses it completely. Also their voices did not match well at all, so that didin't help hide it. She sang one dynamic the whole time.. loud.

Her voice is a bit to raw.. in other words it too bright, also she is just a bit out of tun on the entrance notes "Quando sono sogno sola..ect" Also, I think she messed up the lyrics, but that's okay.. it needs some work, but she sings better than I could ever. :) lol I personally like the way Sarah Brightman and Andrea Bocelli's voices together. With Hayley Westenra, her voice is again to bright for Bocellis earthy type voice.. at least for my taste it is. I enjoyed it though.
@Lastman0nEarth I agree. On the last note she went out of tune when holding it out, and her pronounciation is not the best. But she has a nice voice, it's just not very... contained yet. It need some work, but she has talent.
I realize this was hosted by Smuckers, but seeing the Smuckers logo on the rink, is the height of tackiness. It's doesn't mesh well with these performers and world class singers.
I believe there's some heavy bassoon in the background, and I feel it ruins the whole lightness of the song. I'm also a bigger fan of the Brightman/Bocelli combination rather than the Westenra/Bocelli combination.
@lund15 You apparently do not have a good ear for talent. Haley sang that song beautifully. She has one of the best voices of any female singer in the world. The orchestra was rushing slightly and both singers were a bit off in certain parts but all in all she performed wonderfully as did Andrea. An ice rink is not the best venue for performing such a great classical piece which should be sung in a concert hall.
@dapsapsrp Don't get so mad at lund15. You can't say that was an outstanding performance... I mean, really? It was pretty awful. Maybe now she's better, I wouldn't know, I don't listen to her, but in this video she did not hit the correct pitchs, especially the very last note which went super flat.. most of the time she was a bit sharp, which is harder to pick up, but I don't know how you could get by without hearing that hot mess. Wrong words and all.
@lund15 hayley is one of the most talented singers in the world! she had so so much less experience than brightman nad she is only 18 here. she is more talented than brightman. her voice is also much clearer and sweeter.

I think Hayley did a very creditable job on this song. She cannot be compared to Dame Sarah, but she held her own, especially on the last not as I thought she would falter there but she held up well.

You are correct though. Jackie's performance does not come close to Sarah's. It blows her away as does Mirusia Louwerse. Mirusia could stand next to Sarah singing TTSGB AND Sarah would be so out done she would probably walk off the stage!!

You don't have to listen to every female soprano to make that statement. In order to win a Grammy as best female soprano classical singer the judges do not listen to every female soprano. You listen to all the ones that have become excepted as the tops in that category.

@DSTAUBIN1 Well Idk who the person you mentioned above is, but every time I have listed to another sopran, they sing and style this song differently. it just doesn't make sense they way some style it. Sarah's voice is unsurpassed to me because of the quality, but also becaus she know how to use it, how to style each peice she sings and give it something that can make it her own. Her understanding of musicality and how the voice works throughout. That is my opinion.

Or better than cross-over sopranos like Sissel, Katherine Jenkins, Hayley Westenra and Sarah Brightman who is unsurpassed with this song.

@rynerich Her performance in 2003 was excellent, since her throat surgery 6 years ago she cannot compare to her former self. Go to the Sarah and Jackie duet page. One put it so aptly, "THE PRO DUN GOT LIT UP HERE."

@nonemo138 it's more than one note. No offense, because I'm sure she is better now, but she was missing the center of the pitch all kinds of places, but not as bad as the last note. It's easier to hear flat notes and that's why most people noticed that one.

@giggilamour I believe Sarah Brightman's voice can never be surpassed; she has the voice of an angle sent straight from Heaven! Each note she sings is perfectly in tune, but you're right, Hayley, does have a great talent, and over time it will only get better and better!! :D She's the world's biggest selling soprano, I don't think many people hater her at all. :)

@ThePokegaga I watch it mostly of the combination with the skating, but yes Sarah is much better, Hayley has a good voice but not for this particulair song, she,s doing solo,s in this same program and those songs are very nice, and I guess if you,re 18 years old and sing with Bocelli one of his most famous hits it,s impressive for her, watch vivo per lei from this, sound better.Seems to suit her voice more;-)

@immature0916 No, you are correct, she's been missing the center of the pitch the whole time, on last note, she could not sustain the note and therefore went flat. Bocelli did not miss the pitch by much, it is the girls voice that misses it completely. Also their voices did not match well at all, so that didin't help hide it. She sang one dynamic the whole time.. loud.

Her voice is a bit to raw.. in other words it too bright, also she is just a bit out of tun on the entrance notes "Quando sono sogno sola..ect" Also, I think she messed up the lyrics, but that's okay.. it needs some work, but she sings better than I could ever. :) lol I personally like the way Sarah Brightman and Andrea Bocelli's voices together. With Hayley Westenra, her voice is again to bright for Bocellis earthy type voice.. at least for my taste it is. I enjoyed it though.

She sounds okay...but...I don't think she has the vocal precision to carry it off. Either that or she just hasn't practiced it much.
She's got a great voice but...not for this performance. The high parts made me wince a bit.

I believe there's some heavy bassoon in the background, and I feel it ruins the whole lightness of the song. I'm also a bigger fan of the Brightman/Bocelli combination rather than the Westenra/Bocelli combination.

@lund15 You apparently do not have a good ear for talent. Haley sang that song beautifully. She has one of the best voices of any female singer in the world. The orchestra was rushing slightly and both singers were a bit off in certain parts but all in all she performed wonderfully as did Andrea. An ice rink is not the best venue for performing such a great classical piece which should be sung in a concert hall.

@dapsapsrp Don't get so mad at lund15. You can't say that was an outstanding performance... I mean, really? It was pretty awful. Maybe now she's better, I wouldn't know, I don't listen to her, but in this video she did not hit the correct pitchs, especially the very last note which went super flat.. most of the time she was a bit sharp, which is harder to pick up, but I don't know how you could get by without hearing that hot mess. Wrong words and all.
Andrea is fabulous tough!!

@lund15 hayley is one of the most talented singers in the world! she had so so much less experience than brightman nad she is only 18 here. she is more talented than brightman. her voice is also much clearer and sweeter.
