@pdutube , It's a privacy curtain rod to enclose the cockpit while parked for various reasons. Keep it cooler, privacy if something is happening in the aircraft, ;) etc.
@tamzntrev It's actually a rail for Rosen sunvisors. (You can see one stowed against the ceiling, just above the pilot's head at approximately 0:41 sec.) I drive a C421B and have never seen a privacy curtain hung from this track. The cockpit privacy curtain (to keep cabin lights out of the cockpit at night) is attached to the ceiling, just behind the pilot and co-pilots head, about an inch forward of the cockpit bulkhead/divider.
My father owned a Cessna 414 and so I spent most of my adolescence and teenage years flying this aircraft. I have thousands of hours in it. By the time I went to flight school I was amazed at how easy it was to fly a single engine cessna. lol. This is a beautiful aircraft, fun to fly as well. Lots of good times in it. My father recently sold the 414 to a gentlement in the midwest after 20 some odd years. Hopefully he loves it as much as we did.
@linoleumcarving It depends mainly on how aggressive a pilot is on the throttles. Us "old guys" can fly them to overhaul. Young "freight dogs" snap ley shafts by wild "crankin n bankin"! The GTSIO-520 is a great engine if you take care of it.
Very nice landing! I would love to fly the 414

Cool video! Anybody know what that metal rail is for, that parallels the windscreen? Is it for a sun visor or shade?

Neat! I am about to purchase a 414-Ram VII. I'll get it delivered in two weeks. Nice plane.
