  • Nice to see a cameraman who knows what he's doing.

  • That little tug he does before his pull is interesting. Halil Mutlu does the same thing. Perhaps it gives one stored elastic energy like the dip before the jerk.

If anyone wants to go argue a pro's technique, go to a Rezazadeh video.

  • Absolutely insane lift, super inspiring

  • all this bullshit about him being bulgarian. why did het wanted to lift for turkey then ??? it was HIS choise !! so he simply said, i am a TURK. end of story

  • yes but he trained in a bulgarian academy

  • That was absolutely perfect technique. Poetry in motion.

  • Ask Naim how many times his bodyweight he jerked and I it's a 50/50 chance if he can tell an approximate right answer. Only Americans seem so intrigued by bodyweight multipliers. That is a naive way of looking at weightlifting when we have Wilks and other formulas at our disposal.

  • He was born in Bulgaria and found and trained under Abadjiev , so really shat the fack ap ! He wouldnt have been what he was , if he didnt train under Abadjiev . Or wouldn't have ever do any sport . morons . BULGARIA

  • @eugenenikolov do not forgoet that bulgaria was ottoman provinz and there lived many turkish citizens

that he borns in bulgaria means not that his bulgarian

    sry for bad english

  • @eugenenikolov He has Turkish BLOOD. So stfu and dont be jealous.

  • suleymanoglu is the best weightlifter of the history !!!

  • He did 82.5 pounds more than Berger's 1960 WR @ same weight. It was nominally & officially an 82.5lb improvement. But Berger was 5 feet 3" four inches taller. Had Ike been 4'11" also at 132lbs I figure he could have narrowed the gap also I doubt Ike had drugs as effective & I have been ANGRILY told Ike used no drugs. Plain fact is I have seen no reliable info either way. But to say that height @ a certain weight is irrelevant as to merit is unreasonable.

  • respect!

  • for his size, that is by far the best lift of any kind by any person of all time, this is absolutely superb and what fantastic, efficient technical lifting! so inspiring!

  • is this actually the biggest lift of all time to ratio? he is lifting 3.16 times his body weight, has anyone every done better?

  • hmm i dont know for sure but im sure its in the top 3... one thing i can say though is this is the best lift for his bodyweight-strength ratio of all time, so arguably the best clean and jerk ever!

  • SICK! Absolutely inspiring lift!!

He is a legend for sure.

  • this is far and away the best video on youtube depicting the clean and jerk. the slow motion allows one to thoroughly see the efficiency in his lift. a perfect learning and teaching tool to be sure

  • I remember this guy. he was pound for pound the worlds strongest man. He was nicknamed the pocket hercules. He was from Bulgaria but defected to Turkey to lift for them. He was almost consideredf a midget because he was so short, I think he was only 4'11" tall at best, but his arms were extra short and even when extended fully above his head the bar would clear his head by only a few inches. This guy was incredible to watch in the 1984 and 88 olympics

  • not correct. He did not compete at the 84' olympics.

  • @deathtouch100 To equal Pocket on % Kazmaier would have had to cj 480 kilos (1,058.2 pounds) which happens to be more than the combined best 2 lift total of any super. But in fairness, other factors are relevant than body weight related to weight lifted.

  • its funny how some people think theyre qualified to claim this guys technique is bad..

the guy is fucking awsm, i think he knows what hes doing, dont you?

  • 0:07 - 0:16 that's what I call a squat

  • acil şifalar

  • Naim the greatest of all time !!!

  • see everyone says how great it is when Olympicans do these massive weights, but its important to look at the weight. as somone pointed out thats 3x + his weight! whirch makes it so impressive

  • he never even bends his arms.

  • I wish he were my coach!

  • Best lift ever. Nice technique. Naim sure was very strong. Show me someone else who can lift more then thrice their body weight....

Those people that are saying his technique is poor have no idea whatsoever about weightlifting. Why don't you post a video lifting a bar and show us all how it should be done....

  • I think they are talking about when he was 14yrs old. His technique was rough, but he was the strongest. I remember that.

  • I don't understand why would that matter as he was only a kid then. Let's look at what he achieved in his professional career as a triple olympic gold medallist.

  • Naim Süleymanoglu was the Best!!!

  • Hercule

  • It's amazing to see a real pro like him do a lift. The bar seems to float in the air while he jumps under it and catches it and lets his legs do all the work.

  • thats not illegal to do..of course ur body parts gonna help u lift weight what u want him to do lift the weight while sitting on wheelchair? lol

  • this is the greatest clean and jerk ever at a certain bodyweight, tho technique still not perfect lol, just amazing,,,

  • Hmm maybe, but to me when I see this I think this is the absolute top of weight lifting technique.

  • well, not sure, pritty much best lift eva, so cant be that bad :L, just intresting reli, cuz he jerks the bar off the floor, and leans back a bit much on the pull (like hyperextends), but in general, very very very impressive! ye

  • hes leaning cuz its over 3x bodyweight...it wouldn't really be possible without leaning...his technique is as good as it gets unless you have a video of yourself showing us all how its done...

  • His technique is perfect. I don't think anyone here is qualified to critisize it.

  • @weightliftingisgreat

His technique, especially his pull, can't be considered perfect.

  • @Apjooz Could you back that up with some specifics? Exactly what part of his technique was NOT perfect? How should it have been improved?

  • @InsertName125

The pull is jerky and not smooth in the beginning, and something might be wrong with his shoulder positioning, he should be more over the bar or something like that. Read about it in a forum discussion and agreed with the analysis. These are minor detail, but the point is that no-one should be above critique.

  • @Apjooz These aren't minor details. They're just wrong. He's as close to the bar throughout the movement as possible. That's what everyone strives for. His shoulder is in exactly the position needed to accomplish that. His movement could not be more smoothe throughout, unless of course he wasn't moving several hundred pounds. It's possible that no one in the forum had a clue. He was trained by the Bulgarian team when they were the best trained in the world. His technique is flawless.

  • he is the master of the bar, like Yoda! : D

  • aslan parçası beee

    TÜRKİYE SENİNLE GURUR DUYUYOR

  • Is this is slow motion?

  • its kinda obvious

  • thats unreal 3 times his bodyweight, I met him when i was 12 in melb. australia!

  • gerçekten müthiş bi güç

  • respect.

  • how the hell can he do that look how small his legs are, there not even muscular. BEST LIFT OF ALL TIME

  • Are you kidding? His legs are thick, he is very short. BEST lift though.

  • Bulgaria created him as champion.

  • 418 POUNDS!!!

  • is Naim wouldn't have been such a legend as he is now, no bulgarians would say give us our naim back so shut up

  • turkish gigant!!!

  • Turkish Power..

  • "The pocket Hercules"

    Awesome lifter!

  • You are all arguing like a bunch of stupid school kids. He's a legendary athlete regardless of where he comes from. I've said it before and I'll say it again, politics should have no place on the world stage of weightlifting. But the reality is different because of stupid morons.

  • Holy fucking hell, how much weight is that.

I wish it wasn't slowed down.

  • who said he has bulgarian blood is stupid he is a Turk like all other Turks born in europe

    we are Turks for ever

i was born in germany and

    i m a Turk too

  • Who would believe by his looks that he is that powerful?

  • the greatest lift ever.he has higher than triple of his bodyweight in his arms.

  • ROFL, your'e the fuckin idiot. He was born in Bulgaria, he is NOT Bulgarian. His parents are Turkish. Now that the facts are straight go pull your head out of your ass before calling others idiots.

  • turkısh power.

  • Yeh "turkish" power... get back into your pide shop and back me another pide you weak POS.
