The kind of change, in spending habits, that we need won't take place until the electorate replaces the Congress with people who have far more common sense than what we have now (minus the ones who actually DO try to reverse current spending policies). We have ALOT of work to do over multiple elections!!
@USSJ3 I continue to pray that the people start to understand that the people who make up our government now are not lacking in sense or intelligence but are in fact doing everything in their control to destroy freedom and liberty and replace it with the illusion of security and freebies in order to usher in a totalitarian regime. If you doubt how socialism ends look at London
@DrMinParaguay I have no such doubt. Also, I agree there is a large faction of our government doing just that, especially on the leftist side of politics (though they also have ther RINO allies to help them). Bear in mind, though, that there are some within the government who do not favor such policies. We need more like them, and it's up to us to place them there. So long as we exercise it, WE are the true power behind our government. As I stated, there is much work to do.
louie, once again you continue to show , demonstrate and speak -up whether or not it's on fixing a football team, calling a right play or fixing a government and having a right policy, and in the words of the coach of coaches the great vince lombardi ."People who work together will win, whether it be against complex football defenses, or the problems of modern society.." louie, . please continue to "coach" us all
There's many great solutions to stop insanity like Flat Tax, or the plan everyone pays 1 % of inc. , etc & in 8 yrs cld balance budget - but GV won't do it bc they are power mongers. I don't believe many things GV doing that are destructive are Constitutional - such as the HC Bill.
IMHO It strongly seems vast majority in GV does not want to stop spending, they have no morals, no responsibility - this is not going to stop - EVER - there has to be an alternative - or else sit back & let GV take over. We've been doing a lot to stop recklessness - but my fear is at the rate GV is going, very soon it will be too late if Spend, Borrow, Regulations, Taxes, Sharia, etc not stopped NOW. The Rep party is supposed to be against wasteful spending & what'd they do, they voted 4 it.
How about you make Fox news pay their taxes, they actually made money from the government this year....Cutting PBS would reduce Americans choices for intelligent programing. I am for getting rid of planned parenthood. But this is a matter of Trillions not Billions. We need to cut Military funding, not defense spending but unlawful wars over sees must stop. Cut out oil subsidies, cap credit card interest rates so people can actually buy new products. Cut taxes on the poor. They spend the most.
It seems that every senator and congressman's goal is to bring their constituents the biggest slice of federal pork possible. Absoluire power corrupts absolutely sadly enough.
@XOtericate Google amconmag to read the article by Patrick.J.Buchanan.
George H.W. Bush agreed to break his pledge of “no new taxes,” and raised the top rate from Reagan’s 28 % to 35 %
Since 92, U.S has run a total of $7 trillion in trade deficits. 6 million manufacturing jobs disappeared in the last decade, along with 50,000 factories. This year’s trade deficit just returned to an annual rate of $600 billion.
1 billion? All foreign aid should be cut and all military bases should be moved to the US. Maybe keep a few skeleton bases just in case but mostly lets put most of our soldiers on the Mexican border. Keep the CIA and the FBI but get rid of the ATF. Reduce the amount of parties the White House can have.
@1tacoman17 In Libya, the coalition had fired at least 162 sea-launched Tomahawk missiles priced at $1 million to $1.5 million apiece ,the cost of flying one B2 bomber for an hour is $10,000.The Libyan war is going to cost more than a BILLION dollars
The Pentagon is pouring an estimated $3.5 billion into its biometric programs (2007 through 2015) ,on Iraqis & afghanis !!
@aynaristo Yeah its ridiculous. I dont think we should be in Libya. I dont know if you are against me or with me. But I know we need to watch out for our own country.
What most politicians will not admit is that DC has a spending problem. With all of the fraud, duplication, and government largesse, they have the nerve to ask for more taxes, calling it revenue.
The spending is by design to bring America to her knees. They also spend to keep problems going so they can keep interfering in your life and taking more money from you. there's only one way to oust these parasites from Washington, and it won't be done by talking, signing petitions, or voting.

the Treasury takes in $200 billion in monthly revenue. How can this possibly not be enough? Honestly, Ron Paul is the only one that makes any sense. Don't forget....the Republicans are no better. Where were they when Bush was spending like crazy and raising the debt ceiling 7 out of his 8 years??
Spending is a double edged sword. U dont spend and the economy stagnates . U spend 2 much and then u have debt ! Its a fine line. Its just not the govt individuals also accumulate debt spending more than we can afford so stop the hypocrisy ppl. B4 we go blaming the govt lets take a good hard look in the mirror!!
@westnblu Try looking at the real world not what you were told on an Econ class. If the government stops spending money life will go on, we the people will survive. Your sucked into the system they want you to be in.
@adamslurch71 Well then get rid of the ballooning welfare system. That will save billions in 1 foul swoop. There is a correlation between the incresing welfare system of recent times and debt.
@westnblu I have no problem with that, a majority of people on that system are abusing it and not caring. You get he inner city mother who has 6 kids form 6 different men and than goes on welfare and uses those checks to keep her drug habit in check and pay for a sports car. I have seen it first hand kind of an every day thing in Detroit. We need to stop all entitlement programs, just b/c you live here doesn't mean your gifted money when you get to a given age.
@adamslurch71 U right but wot can b done about it? Welfare was introduced 2 help the marginalised in society get back on their feet. From the xample u give welfare has become a lifestyle 2 many ppl. Go figure!!
@adamslurch71 But in the end welfare does little 2 help the individual or society. It just erodes drive and dignity. Thats why ppl on long term welfare seek solace thru alcohol and or drugs leading 2 a downhill spiral of human misery. U cant walk a block in urban centres without having these unfortunates harrassin u 4 money or smokes.
@westnblu So sad but so true. There is a way to fix it all, stop giving them money they never earned. Yes it will start an uprising of Black and Hispanics complaining about racism, but you know what, they do it to themselves. (I'm not implying in any way that all people on welfare are Black or Hispanic but a majority are so please send your racist mail else ware YouTube). Stop spending the money and use it for good, you know like paying off the countries we have borrow trillions from.
I wouldn't be too quick to say that Texas is doing fine. I live in that state and even there there is not much going on for the economy there. The feds got their fingers in the pie, no doubt.
Government spending is the biggest problem in this country, we need to eliminate a number of government programs not just the wasteful spending cut the dept of education. privatize social security, eliminate obamacare, we need to cut more than 1.6 trillion a year to start paying off the debt. so really we need to cut at least 2 trillion from the budget. every year.
@adamslurch71 as long as it dose not effect our national security, if inaction means more events like 911 then cutting back on national defense might not be a good idea. tho i doubt you could free up a few trillion, the total nation defense budget was only 680 billion for 2010
@ABGAN100 Yea 680 Billion was their posted numbers that has to to directly with the troops themselves, but that doesn't include the equipment, food, logistic cost, honestly for the past 10 years I will say that the US has spent well over 25 Trillion on this stupid fucking war. If one person can give me a good reason why we should keep fighting ( other than the terrorism cop-out) than I will stop talking about it. and it has to be a good reason we NEED to be there.
@ABGAN100 where are you getting the the 680 billion did not cover equipment, food, logistics etc because I've not been able to discover in the government posted websites as 25 trillion in 10 would be 2.5 t/year which is more that most of the years entire budgets. this years budget was a little over 3 trillion last years was about 2.5 t which would mean military used last years entire budget for the US so how did they pay of SS, medicare etc.
Some spending is necessary and some isn't. We also need to close tax loopholes and start having corporations pay their fair share. End the war on drugs, cut our ridiculously high defense budget, ethanol subsidies etc and then we're getting somewhere.
You are absolutely right. Some common sense would go a long way. But the folks running this train wreck, don't want to stop it. Or so it appears. I have this idea that if we all stopped spending for a day, we might get some attention. Buy nothing, pay nothing day. No Money Day. Perhaps leading by example from the cheap seats may help them figure out the problem. I believe it was Timothy Guitner said many times. The average person is not able to understand economics.
see Obama use you last news i heart a arms deal with egypt.edgypt does t have the money flying a to b,you want stop spending stop use airforce stop spending on pay for mosq repair of mosq in egypt.or stop seding money to the hamas.okay fatach
The liberals know how to tax and spend and cut out all of the wrong things but they never spend on the right things or the thing that should be manditory like protecting our countries national defense and keep a strong military defense the world is getting more dangerous not less Iran building nuclear wapons and Look at Obama cutting military spending cutting are navy force to below world war 1 levels and him cutting out are space weaponary while china and Russia build theres up and the borders.
Obama like Dubya is an economic dork. Spending is not stimilus. Production is stimulus. We have 20% REAL unemployment and $500 billion annual trade deficit. Our problem is not consumption. It is production.
If we produced as much as we consumed, the unemployment rate would be cut in half. The other option is another bubble, which is what Obama is betting on. Bush placed the wrong bet and Obama's bet is even stupider.
@77lincolnmark5 Everyone agrees we're over spending, but no one wants to cut "their" programs. The "left" doesn't want to give up on social security and minimum wage, the "right" doesn't want to give up on all their pet wars.
balancing the the budget on the backs of the middle class and the poor us wrong too.close the loop holes in the tax code make the billionaire ;pay there fair share and cut subsidies like big oil and the tax cut that effect the super rich and do nothing for the rest of us
I'm NOT saying you're wrong, Louie. You're exactly right and I do agree with you. However, spending DOES equal stimulating the economy. Instead of send billions of dollars overseas(Playing Mr. Big Shot at the bar), our government needs to take care of this nations infrastructure and things like that. NOBODY should be involuntarily homeless in this country. I'm no bleeding heart but it pisses me off knowing that our soldiers are living on the streets because not enough money is there.
I don't think it's the spending so much but what we buy when we do spend. For example, my roommates have been floating me for the past 30 months while I've been looking for work. 3 weeks ago, I recieved a $1,554.41 settlement check from a class-action lawsuit. More than half of it went towards groceries and shit that's used around the house. I wanted to run to the bar and play Mr. Big Shot like in times past but I spent my money wisely. I shared it with the people who have helped me in rough tim
If you will not fight for right when you can easily win without bloodshed; if you will not fight when your victory is sure and not too costly; you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and only a precarious chance of survival. There may even be a worse case. You may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish than to live as slaves." -- Winston Churchill
Hey Louie! I totally agree with all you're points. You are right we have to start somewhere but it will only end if We the People audit and ultimately end the Federal Reserve Bank.
A situation in which a government imposes taxes on a particular group of its citizens, despite the citizens not consenting or having an actual representative deliver their views when the taxation decision was made. This situation was one of the triggering events that spurred the original thirteen American colonies to revolt against the British Empire.
Thought this was interesting and wanted to share it.
Stop spending, yea right...Congress needs their pay raises, personal jets, big houses and SUV limos....While they have all of the good life, the rest of us get the bone without vasoline....This is the change America wanted.....How is it working so far...
Reply from President Obama "Louie thanks for your suggestions, but we can stop spending until there are no more million and billionaires in our country. When we have a nation of just thousandaires and dollaraires then I will consider cutting back. Thanks though."
"Today the path to total dictatorship in the United States can be laid by strictly legal means, unseen and unheard by the Congress, the President, or the people... outwardly we have a Constitutional government. We have operating within our government and political system, another body representing another form of government, a bureaucratic elite which believes our Constitution is outmoded and is sure that it is the winning side....
@DEADPATRIOT1 All the strange developments in the foreign policy agreements may be traced to this group who are going to make us over to suit their pleasure.... This political action group has its own local political support organizations, its own pressure groups, its own vested interests, its foothold within our government, and its own propaganda apparatus." Think about that?;)
@DEADPATRIOT1 One thing a lot of people don't grasp is that much of the Constitution has been nullified a while back, not through public apathy and endless regulation, but through a loophole in the Constitution that makes treaties the law of the land, even over the Constitution itself. I don't remember what part of it right off hand but it's there. Most of those treaties are with the UN.

the Treasury takes in $200 billion in monthly revenue.

B4 we go blaming the govt lets take a good hard look in the mirror!!
westnblu 7 months ago
@westnblu Try looking at the real world not what you were told on an Econ class. If the government stops spending money life will go on, we the people will survive. Your sucked into the system they want you to be in.
adamslurch71 7 months ago
@adamslurch71 Well then get rid of the ballooning welfare system. That will save billions in 1 foul swoop. There is a correlation between the incresing welfare system of recent times and debt.
westnblu 7 months ago
@westnblu I have no problem with that, a majority of people on that system are abusing it and not caring. You get he inner city mother who has 6 kids form 6 different men and than goes on welfare and uses those checks to keep her drug habit in check and pay for a sports car. I have seen it first hand kind of an every day thing in Detroit. We need to stop all entitlement programs, just b/c you live here doesn't mean your gifted money when you get to a given age.
adamslurch71 7 months ago
@adamslurch71 U right but wot can b done about it? Welfare was introduced 2 help the marginalised in society get back on their feet. From the xample u give welfare has become a lifestyle 2 many ppl. Go figure!!
westnblu 7 months ago
@westnblu It's b/c its the easy way out. why work if someone will pay you to sit on your ass.
adamslurch71 7 months ago
@adamslurch71 But in the end welfare does little 2 help the individual or society. It just erodes drive and dignity. Thats why ppl on long term welfare seek solace thru alcohol and or drugs leading 2 a downhill spiral of human misery. U cant walk a block in urban centres without having these unfortunates harrassin u 4 money or smokes.
westnblu 7 months ago
@westnblu So sad but so true. There is a way to fix it all, stop giving them money they never earned. Yes it will start an uprising of Black and Hispanics complaining about racism, but you know what, they do it to themselves. (I'm not implying in any way that all people on welfare are Black or Hispanic but a majority are so please send your racist mail else ware YouTube). Stop spending the money and use it for good, you know like paying off the countries we have borrow trillions from.

ahhh yes, you pointed out some good observations there. very good video, Louie!

I wouldn't be too quick to say that Texas is doing fine. I live in that state and even there there is not much going on for the economy there. The feds got their fingers in the pie, no doubt.
Agent1W 7 months ago
Government spending is the biggest problem in this country, we need to eliminate a number of government programs not just the wasteful spending cut the dept of education. privatize social security, eliminate obamacare, we need to cut more than 1.6 trillion a year to start paying off the debt. so really we need to cut at least 2 trillion from the budget. every year.
ABGAN100 7 months ago
@ABGAN100 How about we stop paying to take over other countries, you think that would free up a few trillion?
adamslurch71 7 months ago
@adamslurch71 as long as it dose not effect our national security, if inaction means more events like 911 then cutting back on national defense might not be a good idea. tho i doubt you could free up a few trillion, the total nation defense budget was only 680 billion for 2010
ABGAN100 7 months ago
@ABGAN100 Yea 680 Billion was their posted numbers that has to to directly with the troops themselves, but that doesn't include the equipment, food, logistic cost, honestly for the past 10 years I will say that the US has spent well over 25 Trillion on this stupid fucking war. If one person can give me a good reason why we should keep fighting ( other than the terrorism cop-out) than I will stop talking about it. and it has to be a good reason we NEED to be there.

BabylonsKing 7 months ago
@ABGAN100 where are you getting the the 680 billion did not cover equipment, food, logistics etc because I've not been able to discover in the government posted websites as 25 trillion in 10 would be 2.5 t/year which is more that most of the years entire budgets. this years budget was a little over 3 trillion last years was about 2.5 t which would mean military used last years entire budget for the US so how did they pay of SS, medicare etc.

Some spending is necessary and some isn't. We also need to close tax loopholes and start having corporations pay their fair share. End the war on drugs, cut our ridiculously high defense budget, ethanol subsidies etc and then we're getting somewhere.
thatlogicalguy 7 months ago
You are absolutely right. Some common sense would go a long way. But the folks running this train wreck, don't want to stop it. Or so it appears. I have this idea that if we all stopped spending for a day, we might get some attention. Buy nothing, pay nothing day. No Money Day. Perhaps leading by example from the cheap seats may help them figure out the problem. I believe it was Timothy Guitner said many times. The average person is not able to understand economics.

Some people just can't get their minds around the fact that the solution to government overspending is NOT more spending.
77lincolnmark5 7 months ago
@77lincolnmark5 Everyone agrees we're over spending, but no one wants to cut "their" programs. The "left" doesn't want to give up on social security and minimum wage, the "right" doesn't want to give up on all their pet wars.

balancing the the budget on the backs of the middle class and the poor us wrong too.close the loop holes in the tax code make the billionaire ;pay there fair share and cut subsidies like big oil and the tax cut that effect the super rich and do nothing for the rest of us
1961arnie 7 months ago

You may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish than to live as slaves." -- Winston Churchill

obama Deficit spending is $4,100,000,000 for Every Day he has been in office.
Bush's was $1.6 billion, Bad enough.
Even with raising the Debt ceiling, the Bond Rating may still be Degraded, an Economic Catastrophe.
The Only way to Avoid it is to Cut $Trillions.
BTW, Liberals do Love Government, the More the Better!
Republicans seem to be conceding Far too Much!

What Does Taxation Without Representation Mean?
A situation in which a government imposes taxes on a particular group of its citizens, despite the citizens not consenting or having an actual representative deliver their views when the taxation decision was made. This situation was one of the triggering events that spurred the original thirteen American colonies to revolt against the British Empire.
Thought this was interesting and wanted to share it.

@acuriousbeast 1954 -- Senator William Jenner said:
DEADPATRIOT1 7 months ago
@DEADPATRIOT1 All the strange developments in the foreign policy agreements may be traced to this group who are going to make us over to suit their pleasure.... This political action group has its own local political support organizations, its own pressure groups, its own vested interests, its foothold within our government, and its own propaganda apparatus." Think about that?;)
DEADPATRIOT1 7 months ago
@DEADPATRIOT1 One thing a lot of people don't grasp is that much of the Constitution has been nullified a while back, not through public apathy and endless regulation, but through a loophole in the Constitution that makes treaties the law of the land, even over the Constitution itself. I don't remember what part of it right off hand but it's there. Most of those treaties are with the UN.
