This quake sent a wave to the Oregon coast, 4 children swept off the beach, my dad's cousin had babysat the children. The scariest thing in the world. Well except for black metal ANAAL NATHRAKH!!! Yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhh
I love Anchorage. I miss living there, I live in the valley now but believe me, that is the best area for tourism and biking and most certainly an awesome workout. In the winter you could see the blue iceberg chips floating on the water *PEACE*
thanks for the video. i'm from canada & whenever i go down south to the u.s., people think canada are all farmers. i honestly thought alaska was eskimos & igloos
I will be moving to anchorage next week with my boyfriend I was wondering what are some fun things to do thanks for the video it helps there are not many from another persons perspective just drive bys
Fascinating perspective! I never thought about how big that hill is because I'm always driving up or down it, but you're right - it's a heckuva climb! Thanks for the reminder.
Thanks for showing that area now. My parents were newlywed and living at Fort Richardson nearby when the earthquake happened. The photos Dad took are amazing and I always wondered what it looked like now. They will never forget that time in their lives and helping people rebuild afterwards. My mom still razzes Dad for grabbing their new television set and not her during the quake. ;)
I used to live in ancourage before my parents got divorced and I moved to philadelphia. But I remember that there was this huge hill that my school bus would go down when my classmates and I were going home and we all called it "killer hill."
I can imagine why they called it "Killer Hill". During the winter, when that road is covered with ice, it must be suicidal for a school bus trying to go down that hill.
Anchorage isn't the first place I would choose to live, but I'd much rather live there than Philadelphia.
Yeah in the 70's they moved my house to chugiak after the earthquake,Kinda weired I lived pretty much all my life in a house that was involved in the 1964 Earthquake lol.
Earthquake Park is actually near the airport. You were in Elderberry Park which did suffer during the '64 quake, but didn't see intense damage like Turnagain Heights did (now known as Earthquake Park). Cool vid though.
wow...really interesting. great videos. i was searching zydeco dancing, and ended up watching these too. you have great videos, and what an adventure! thanks for sharing, from a random stranger! :)
