This was one of my big gripes in ME 1/2. There was no "impact" in my shots, and thus the combat didn't have a good feel to it, but it looks like they're trying to improve it this time.
@AbraKadavr8 Depends besides it would be pretty op if it was, and each one has a different use for each class, an engineer would be able to stop a krogans health from regenerating with their fire omni tool and the adept one would throw an enemy off a cliff or something if their shields and armor were down.
DA2 best RPG? It's barely an average RPG IMO. The story was bad, the characters' personalities felt so forced (Seriously, WTF did you do to Anders?), the boring environments, streamlined (in a bad way) progression and inventory systems and truly average music. I don't mind the change in art style, and the combat changes were good, but Skyrim takes RPG of the year by a long shot.
I didn't like dragon age 2 at all but I love dragon age origins and mass effect 2 is the best game up until mass effect 3 i cant wait! and there better be a krogon companion or grunt better comeback thumbs up who is with me

But my point was that some players rate other things as more important than how big the world is or how the graphics look like etc. For me the story and the characters mean a lot. Brings the game alive and makes me believe in the world/story. I got bored with Skyrim after 50 hours. I have played Dragon Age through 7 times (roughly 300+ hours). Still not bored. People are different :-)

All a matter of taste isn't it? Personally i don't understand how you can like Bethesdas games better than what Bioware is creating. I've met mannequins with more personality than any character in Skyrim (everyone says the same things over and over). And that's something that drags down for people who isn't content with hackin, slashin' and opening chests for 200 hours. I like Skyrim, but do i think it's better than any of the Dragon Age games. No and not even close. But that's just my taste...
ME3 looks like it will be like Avatar. It will look good, and have an interesting story with logic and story fails. It will not receive my entertainment dollar. I have other shooters.
On a side note I would recommend Cthulhutech for table top rpg enthusiasts. More cosmic horror than the Reapers can ever hope to achieve.

@verbosevindication what's your issue dude. 1st of all you don't spell video games as vidyagames as if we understand you. 2nd multi player doesn't make a game, into a bad video game. If I recall correctly metroid prime was a story driven first person adventure, and was critically acclaimed, as was metroid prime and metroid prime 2 echoes. My point? Video games are a creative ip from developers like Ea and bioware are making it more of an addition to the game. Notice they said nothing near that.

ME1 had excellent writing, ME2 had terrible writing, and made some strange lore-wise changes. When compared to what Ken Levine can do, i have no doubt Infinite is going to be FAR supperior a game than ME3, just like Bioschock 1 imo wins against ME1.
Post-EA Bioware says they haven't changed, but their products say otherwise. The Mass Effect series is awesome, but I can't lie. The story/writing for ME2 was pretty bad, especially the end boss. I'm really hoping its better for the final game.
@autobotking Atleast Ken levine isn't pushing multiplayer and everything to get more sales, he wants to tell a story, and if you don't care for the story, he doesn't want you to buy his game. This is where it's at people, bioware pushing a product, Levine moving art.
Storytelling FIRST, the thing is a strategic shooter like Bioschock understands and follows this, whilst an RPG which prides itself in rich storytelling does not.

It is by no means fact that it was horrible. If someone liked the game, that is their opinion. It may be popular opinion that is wasn't good, but that still doesn't make it fact. In my opinion, DA2 wasn't as bad as many people claim it to be, it just had a bunch of issues that resulted in it being much worse than Origins. If they had taken more time, designed more unique areas and taken a lot of the game away from Kirkwall, it would have been great.
Sorry for two comments, but I ran out of room. This Bioware pulse thing may be kind of odd, but it really is no different than Bungie ViDocs or any other company's developer diaries. The only difference is that this is presented in an almost third party way, but still not. Almost every developer releases interviews and behind-the-scenes before release, the only thing different about Bioware Pulse is that it is sort of pretending to be a legit gaming show.
How can a game company get a game so right(Mass Effect) but get a game so wrong(DA2). I can't believe that the same team that made DA1 made DA2, there's just no way. They would have mutinied!

Gears of War only has its gameplay and nothing else, which is why everywhere you go you are always shooting.

It's a close call for me between Mass Effect 3 and Bioshock: Infinite for me, but i'll vote for Mass Effect.
As per Dragon Age II for best RPG, or Arrival for best DLC, though? Piss off.
In terms of this video, though, i'm liking the sync with the mêlée. It's sort of annoying in some games when it very evidently messes up.

Not a big deal still love the heavy melee, but they could at least have shepard move the gun to his left hand instead of the current gun your holding disappearing mysteriously everytime you heavy melee. Not a major problem or anything : ) 2:41 for reference

ME1 had excellent writing, ME2 had terrible writing, and made some strange lore-wise changes. When compared to what Ken Levine can do, i have no doubt Infinite is going to be FAR supperior a game than ME3, just like Bioschock 1 imo wins against ME1.

Post-EA Bioware says they haven't changed, but their products say otherwise. The Mass Effect series is awesome, but I can't lie. The story/writing for ME2 was pretty bad, especially the end boss. I'm really hoping its better for the final game.

@autobotking Atleast Ken levine isn't pushing multiplayer and everything to get more sales, he wants to tell a story, and if you don't care for the story, he doesn't want you to buy his game. This is where it's at people, bioware pushing a product, Levine moving art.
Storytelling FIRST, the thing is a strategic shooter like Bioschock understands and follows this, whilst an RPG which prides itself in rich storytelling does not.
A true shame.

@GuyWithPie00 I agree that they better not mess up ME3. I personally didn't hate DA2, BUT when comparing it to DAO... well Origins was miles and away better. And yeah, I don't think even the developers who worked on DA2 could think it's worth RPGOTY. I've never been so let down by a game, as far as what I was expecting and it just didn't deliver. I'll lose complete faith in Bioware if that happens to ME3. But just because I think this way, someone had to call me a hater.

It is by no means fact that it was horrible. If someone liked the game, that is their opinion. It may be popular opinion that is wasn't good, but that still doesn't make it fact. In my opinion, DA2 wasn't as bad as many people claim it to be, it just had a bunch of issues that resulted in it being much worse than Origins. If they had taken more time, designed more unique areas and taken a lot of the game away from Kirkwall, it would have been great.

Sorry for two comments, but I ran out of room. This Bioware pulse thing may be kind of odd, but it really is no different than Bungie ViDocs or any other company's developer diaries. The only difference is that this is presented in an almost third party way, but still not. Almost every developer releases interviews and behind-the-scenes before release, the only thing different about Bioware Pulse is that it is sort of pretending to be a legit gaming show.

Be happy that things are going to be 100 times better, and please, stop complaining. I could say alot of negative things about Skyrim on Skyrim videos, because we all know how Bethesda games are extremely glitchy and buggy, but I don't. We Mass Effect fans would appreciate the same kindness.
