@kabayegainsaf its sad i know! Sami had a 101.9 but the ball was disallowed for suspect action i think,, shaun tait is rumored to have hit 104 in a training match once, but the speed gun measures during training are not accepted officially!

all said and done, Akhtar was simply the best bowler ever, after Akram, Waqar

and sami's career was RUINED by pakistan's selection committee, and Inzy who didn't use him to the fullest extent :( very sad because Inzy nurtured so many other good bowlers

he is an amazing bowler, personally i dont think he chucks because if he did he would would be a hell of a lot quicker than he is.. look at the baseball guys.. they can throw it 100mph from a standing start. think what they could do with a bit of momentum behind them

Quick delivery no doubt, but if you watch much more of the footage of the 2003 world cup you will see that the speed guns were a little optimistic. The likes of Glenn McGrath bowling at 89mph+, Andy Blignaut of Zimbabwe bowling at 94mph, Andy Caddick bowling at 92mph etc.. far from accurate tbh..
