@upolislam If you want to play Irish music you need a 4 string banjo, called a tenor banjo which has either 19 or 17 frets. (not a longer necked plectrum banjo which has 21 or 22 frets!)
@erzulie123 thanks,,,i play acoustic guitar,,,there r some 6 string banjo too...do u think it will be same like playing an acoustic guitar,,,??i mean the chords....so i was thinking it might me easier for me to pick up then...any suggestion?
@upolislam Sorry I seem to have misunderstood your orginal question. i assumed to wanted to play the banjo as a melody instrument for irish music. Yes you can play the 6 string banjos as you would a guitar if you're playing chords. I wouldn't recommend it for accompanying irish tunes.......you may get some disgruntled players as it will be VERY overpowering!!
This will sound negative... but I mean it well... Irish Music is dance music... any individual player should be able to make people want to dance..... you are a very good player... but... do I want to dance....
I bet if he had some more people backing him up with other instruments you'd feel like dancing. I don't know much about irish music though, I play 5 string bluegrass banjo.
great playing mate and a super tone from the banjo as well, i also like the thin punchy sound from my tenor as against the deep thuddy tone. keep it up.

your picking hand is super quiet. excluding triplets, would you say you use more wrist or finger when you pic? it's hard to tell from this distance.
