  • The Apostles' Creed is catholic in origin & no bible believing protestant christian should have anything to do with it because article 9 of this creed states ...." I believe in the Holy Catholic Church, the communion of saints." No bible believing protestant christian believes in what the catholic church is teaching such as praying to idols and dead saints, asking forgiveness from a catholic priest.. etc. Therefore they should not be duped into thinking this is a christian confession.

  • @opsvideo2008 the Apostles Creed is just as it 's name says...Your facts are all wrong, mixed with gossip and lies that you heard somewhere. If you have a question, just ask. I only explain the truth, backed up with facts and bible.

  • @opsvideo2008 Actually, to be precise, the apostles' creed says "I believe in the holy catholic church". Notice the lack of capitalization? This is because in this case, it means universal. It's not actually referring to THE Catholic Church. Many protestants validly take no issue with the prayer for this very reason.

  • @farsight001 Your comment of saying the Holy Catholic Church mentioned in the apostles' creed is actually referring to the holy universal church, appears to be like another catholic stealth attempt to convince the protestants that the wolf in sheep clothing is really the sheep's distant cousin. No knowledgable bible believing christian will ever believe the catholic church is the universal church. The catholic church is the only "church" in history that kills in the name of God.

  • @opsvideo2008 Why must you simply assume an insidious and deceptive intent in my actions? I was trying to be helpful, and here you go, reacting with your gut, accusing me of deception. That's completely uncalled for.

As for being the only church in history that kills in the name of God, this is also untrue. The Protestants had an inquisition too, which resulted in millions of Catholics being killed. There's Bloody Sunday, "good" queen Bess, Oliver Cromwell, and many more.

  • @farsight001 Only you & God know whether you are just being helpful or mounting an attempt to deceive protestants. Of catholics being killed by protestants & vice-versa, I don't doubt that it happens. One just have to look at Northern Ireland. Your catholic church's inquisition of people who didn't want to believe what the catholics believe, is totally another kettle of fish altogether. An estimated 75 million victims were tortured, slaughtered & murdered over the centuries !!!

  • @opsvideo2008 You have missed the point. You used the killings of the Catholic Church as an argument against it's validity. I responded by pointing out the killings of the Protestants, because if killings makes a denomination false, then logically all denominations are false.

As for 75 million - not the highest number I have heard, but still severely bloated. Current scholarly estimates put the death toll due to the Inquisition at under 10k people - a slower execution rate than Texas today.

  • @farsight001 Yeah. only 10K people over 12 centuries. You can go on believing the lies. Just in case you missed my point : your catholic church is the only so-called "church" in the history of mankind that kills people in the name of God. And if you are still clueless, go read what the the 6th commandment of God says in the bible.

  • Keep up the good work!!!

  • Type in Curtis Hutson in youtube search and listen to the real gospel for a change.

  • @YesToYeshua if I want to hear real Gospel, I will read my bible....

  • @stevesilvia Not if it's a Catholic Bible. Too many books missing that are in the King James Bible. Do you care to explain that? Take your time, Steve. Did you bother to look up John 16:23, or are you worried about finding out one more heresy that the Catholic church teaches?

  • @YesToYeshua, Like I said, I would rather listen to the bible than someone you have been getting your gossip from...I never said anything about how many books are in your bible or mine...You seem to jump from the topic to some other topic. Finding hard to defend yourself? True Christanity teaches love...Did you bother to look that up??

  • @stevesilvia True Christianity confronts heresy. Why not answer my question. I'll answer your question about two versions of the Apostle's Creed. Yes there are two versions. but the bible clarifies the discrepency and verifies that Jesus did indeed descend into hell. Actually he was dragged there by the demons but when he arrived he was Lord over the dead and he moved Paradise from Hell to Heaven thus eradicating your Purgatory.

Did I go over your head, Steve? I thought so. lol

  • @YesToYeshua your condescending comments are uncalled for....We don't believe that Jesus was "dragged there by demons". please give Scripture which says so....

  • @YesToYeshua Oh I know why you didn't give Scripture to back up your statement....It's not in the bible.

  • So don't you have to "pray" to a dead saint in order to ask them to pray for you? Why not cut to the chase and just pray to the Father in the name of His son, Jesus, as Jesus himself instructed his disciples to do in John 16:23? Those saints got to heaven by the shed blood of Jesus, not their good works. ONLY by the blood of the Lamb of God, not their own merits. So why have them pray for us? Pray for yourself you lazy thing. LOL God bless you. There I just prayed for you. Done deal.

  • Again, all i am saying is that the words "descended into hell" are not in every version...and perhaps the reason is worth talking about...but my point is that these principles came to us from the first Christians through oral tradition...

  • Thanks Steve for this post...it's a wonderful vehicle for educating people that know nothing of our Catholic faith! Blessings!

  • I learned it in the Catholic version... so your video is wrong.

  • @atumbleweeding

What do you mean "so your video is wrong"? explain yourself and you better have a good argument!

  • @etclamoradteveniat "He descended into hell"... I learned those words 9in the Catholic version.

  • wonderful
