if this head was 700$ new it would be a steal but its competing with the peavey 6505+ price range which is undoubtedly a better head so it is no match. the peavey has way more potential if you want to mod it too. i know ill get drilled well you can like what you like and i can like what i like blah blah blah, play them both and pick what you want. Cool head but not for the cash, a good buy off craigslist though after the original owner upgrades to a peavey 5150 ;-P
I agree with 8dawg, i tried one too.... but im thinking more along the lines of a Bald porcupine after 15 cheesey gorditas and 4 tallboys of Guiness....
The armadillo is a noble creature!! HOW DARE YOU!!!!
Well my knob iz inn my hand and, out of the box......it sounds way shittier than a 6505 (which is all youl ever need) and its 200 bownz mowr that the pEEVEe
iTz brOOOtalz how much it's a waste of time, and money!!!!!
It's a shame you give very limited examples of the possibilities the dirty channel is able to. I suppose it sounds good with less gain and other tone settings too. Doesn't it ? Sorry if my English isn't that good.
@Valeofagony you'd be suprised. once i put JJ preamp tubes and tung-sol 6550s it really woke the amp up. added with a modified TS808 in front i got some really cool metal tones out of it. I play a VH140C now, though. this video is like a year old.
@Valeofagony haha dude your wrong about that this thing was made to get really heavy i own one myself and i use it to play live with my new band Vermin. all you need to make it to get it really heavy is a ibanez tube screamer with like a little gain on it to push the tubes a little more your gain in the middle bass at like 7
@Valeofagony/ your middle at 5 trebel at 7 and presence in the middle of 6 and 7 and it will get heavy enough and off course its a all tube amp head so you need a badass gutiar player behind it because it will show every mistake you make so you have to be really clean
@Valeofagony i'd like to correct you... nickelback isn't metal... they are a music genre known as "shit"... no offense if you like them but that's just an opinion... if you call nickleback music that is
Pretty hot pickups..... i'm more of a Gibson guy, especially for low tuning, i like Fenders for blues.... but i really love the Jim Root tele.....theres really no Fender in that Fender!!! Mahog body, Ebony Fretboard EMG-ZW set........ only Fender thing about it is the shape!!
do you still have this beast if you still do put some new clips of it :( pls!!
