Awesome video. I followed your trip over on ADVrider. Looks like a great adventure. Riding the TAT looks like the absolutely coolest ride in America. Has to be the best way to see the country. Are you on a DRZ 400? I wondered how it compared to the dr650s on the overall trip. (It had to be alot better on this trail for sure :)
@gsxrg46 Thanks! You've got it right. I was on a DR-Z400S and the others were on DR650s. The DRs did better on the road and easier sections (I'm sure they were a smoother ride too!). Once it got really rough the DR-Z handled things much better. I am happy with my choice of bike. I'd rather be able to have fun on the tough stuff than be comfy :).
I've just finished watching your TAT posts to date. The video quality is great, and some of those tracks you were riding up in the mountains absolutely boggle the mind! They make the so called "Bolivia Death Road" look like a walk in the park! One has to wonder why these "roads" even exist. Access to old mining operations perhaps?
Anyway, epic journey for sure, and I'm totally jealous. Looking forward to seeing the rest of the trip. I only wish that you had done some running commentary.
@dprider02 Thanks! If you haven't seen it, I'm in the process of writing a ride report on advrider.com. I'm updating the report as I get the videos edited.
what did the trip cost and how long did it take
