  • Great work! I really wish that this was a series, either on tv or YouTube!!

  • I love lolita very much, Unfortunately I live in an area that is high in crime and such so my mom never lets me go out like that which I understand. It makes me sad that people cannot understand the beauty in lolita as well, The only time I can wear lolita out is if I go to an anime convention. This was a lovely documentary. :)

  • D:l This pleases me.....C:l

  • How could someone think its 'slutty', I mean compaired to alot of clothing today it seems pretty modest to me.

  • Why would people think Gothic & Lolita is slutty your all covered up and slutty is were you have everything showing!?!?!?!? I though maybe it's because my cloths 'look' like a costume but then people don't call goth, punk, emo or rocker slutty I DON'T UNDERSTAND! and why would you have to scram mean things? and who keeps a big pickle in there car WTF!? and i hate it when people say they know what this realy is and i don't and it's some sex thing and i shouldn't wear it.

  • I think it's horrible that people shout abuse like that. I live in Australia so I know how some people here react to things that are different. Lately I have been dressing visual kei with some lolita influences in the style because I find I don't get harassed so much that way, but it still does happen a lot. I've never seen how it can be considered slutty when a lot of the clothes are no were near as revealing as what some girls wear now days.

  • Well done. I'm 14 and I've loved this fashion since I was 10. I live in the San Francisco area and I've seen an increase in lolitas. I hope one day I can buy a dress from Baby or angelic pretty. >w<

  • @hirokodinotaku GO FOR IT!! You are so lucky to live in there

  • I love this! But next time, as JessieKateRose said, you should probably mention handmade and offbrand, a little bit more on its origin, and some more positive thinks about lolita in Australia. Of course it won't work as in Japan because you are not japanese (me neither, I'm mexican), but I'm sure there are some great thinks about your culture that makes lolita so unique and different. Great job ;)

  • This is AMAZING!!!!!!!

  • This is so well made!!^^ Luckily my mother and grandmother think the fashion is adorable but my grandmother asks why I don't show more cleavage...its hard to explain to her that that's not what loli fashion is about.

  • @PinkWolfieLove That's really strange for your grandmother to say.. >_>

  • @thalionrin >.< bahhh now that you mention it, it does. It was more like she was comparing it to other women who wore skimpy clothes.

  • @ ITakeTime No I truely understand you.:) It's good to know there are others who have experienced the same. It's just heart breaking because at school O feel like I'm not being my whole self and when people see me in lolita they think it's weird and cant put any connection to my lolita selfg and what I wear at school. But I'm going to try again because I want it and it's my life and not theirs. And as far as friends go I'm sure in time they';ll understand that what your friends for right:P?

  • My grand mother and my great grand mother wore these clothes. And they are awesome people. Ergo: Everyone who dresses like this are awesome people.

  • @sayomi23 I'm pretty sure that's Sweet Strawberry Ribbon! ^_^

  • what is the AP print at 2:16 ?i have been in love with it since i first saw it but i dont know what it is called...please tell me anyone that knows

  • what was the name of the site the girl said you could get lolita clothes for cheap? i like the lolita look but not sure how to get started. i would really appreciate the help. thanks. :)

  • @mychems1fan Please check out a few places... You can google them. Livejournal - EGL (the main community), egl_comm_sales (Selling community). Hellolace. Lolibrary. Lolitafashion. Yahoo!Japan Auctions. MBOK auctions. Bodyline. Taobao.

  • @mychems1fan

It also might be a good idea to look into sewing!

It's a cheap and creative way to get into lolita:3

  • My mother will never understand...she thinks that it's so called "slutty" to wear lolita clothing...I know the meaning of the word, but I keep telling her it's a FASHION. She refuses to listen, and so does my dad. I honestly will probably never get to wear lolita clothing, no matter how much I want to...Lolita, like you said, isn't slutty at all. It's really pretty, with floofy dresses and cutesy bows with long socks...I don't get whats so WRONG about it.

  • @TheBaileaf If you're still young of course your parents will try to shelter and control you. Depending on the mindset of your parents and how they see the world, things that are even in the slightest way strange or out of the ordinary will seem "wrong" to them. Lolita is often associated with Vladimir Nabokov's book of the same name, though it has less to do with ephebophelia than most people think.

  • @TheBaileaf Portraying yourself as doll-like/child-like can be seen as fetishist by outsiders, and your parents don't want people to get the wrong idea about you. But if you explain to them (in a calm and rational way with valid evidence) why you like it so much, and what styles you like (classic usually goes down the best as it's more mature) maybe they'll listen to you? Otherwise you can just wear it when you're not under their rules anymore ;P

  • i dont understand.... how can it be slutty?? there is no skin shown!?

  • I want one but its so expencive and im 15 mew i want one

  • @saliorstar123 I KNOW! I'm in love with Gothic Lolita fashions, but sadly, it's much too expensive.

  • @ShelbyTheGoth

Have you seen the less expensive places to purchase Lolita clothing from, such as Bodyline Yokoso? You also could try making your own clothing if you like, there really are a lot of less expensive ways than buying brand to be a Lolita. :) Trust me, I don't have much money at all but I'm making it work! Oh, and just so you know for future reference, the whole thing is actually just Lolita fashion, Gothic Lolita is just one part of it. ^_^

  • @AmeliaJane74 There was some pretty stuff on there for pretty cheap. Oh, and I meant that I liked Gothic Lolita specifically, as my favorite type. Thank you! ^-^

  • @ShelbyTheGoth

Ah, I see now. :) Unfortunately Bodyline doesn't have very many Gothic Lolita things and you have to be careful as some of their stuff is more cosplay than actual Lolita, you could also check on Etsy for some handmade Lolita things or the EGL Sales Comm, I hope you find things you like!

  • Thanks a lot for this video. I'm an aspiring (Young! Seems like there's a lot of my kin nowadays) Lolita, and I wanted to thank the maker of this video and the lovely ladies of Brisbane for contributing so much to give such a wonderful video.

  • This just brightened up my morning, this makes me understand the true meaning and not all the stereotypes of them, but some are a little true in a way but they aren't bad at all! I would love to be part of a group or community, and have a chance to be able to do what they can do. I'm in Australia as well and so many communities and groups like these are being taunted and harassed.Being a Lolita seems like such an amazing passion for live c: <3 Everything is just so happy, cute and creative!

  • so cool dresses! <33

  • Very cute! i love the video. I think the tea party is an excellent thing to show. It may be a stereotype...but it is true. Lolita is fashioned after Rococo times ,and guess what, thats is what women did. They did not go out and work...they did not really do much of anything if they were of higher class. They had parties, had tea and cake with their friends. You can't say you want to stay away from a stereotype what that is the basis of the culture the lolita fashion is derived from.

  • I love this! The only part of it I wasn't too fond of was the opening and ending scenes of everyone drinking tea and giggling, just because it's often a stereotype that all lolitas do is eat pastries and drink tea lol. Mind you, at meet ups it does happen a lot, I just cringe a little at the stereotype being proven. It's awesome to see such a tight-knit community though! I'll be honest, I'm a lolita who has had pretty bad experiences with other lolitas. This was a great watch, thanks for making!

  • @warmheartedkiller Thanks for watching :) Originally I had meant to kinda "break" the stereotype of lolita moreso as well as establish it; but some location agreements fell through (one of our group's favourite past times is drunken karaoke happy hour!) and I had to cut back due to time limits~ Interestingly, I did travel to another state and went to a bar with some lolis there that served cocktails in teapots.. very loli :P While we can be proper prim ladies we are also real people^^

  • @thalionrin That's cool! Your meet-ups sound awesome! Thanks for answering : D

  • @warmheartedkiller

I don't think many people actually do think we drink tea all the time, but it is true that a lot of Lolitas like things like that and some have even developed a lifestyle to go with Lolita, I don't think there's anything wrong with showing that. :)

  • @AmeliaJane74 There's nothing wrong with showing that! I think what I said is being taken the wrong way. I've just (personally) experienced a lot of negativity and bullying from many people who really do think all lolitas are prim and proper and drink tea and love pastries etc. etc. when lolitas are all kinds of people with different interests, even lifestylers. I love the documentary on the whole but that was my least favorite part, is all. : ) It still works well for the film!

  • @warmheartedkiller

It really is dumb that some people think all Lolitas are like that. Even the ones who do enjoy those things have more to their personalities than that! But I understand what you're saying. :)

  • @warmheartedkiller I am surprised to hear that you've experienced negative reactions from the ladylike expectations of Lolita. Is it from other lolitas or outsiders?

  • @thalionrin Mostly outsiders, but quite a few lolitas as well. : )

  • @warmheartedkiller I don't see anything wrong with fitting stereotypes every once in a while, when they aren't negative.

  • Australian Lolitas are really pretty ♥ !

  • My Girlfriend totally loves this style of clothing. I hope she really gets into it :D

  • @coolnesss16 I hope she does too! It's nice that you support her!

  • Not bad. Not bad at all.

  • You know what after watching this i wanna turn lolita except they would make dresses in my size im like 13 years old XD but i still was really touched by this video

  • The pickle story made me LOL ^w^

  • Xelyna had been Bodyline model?

  • @GaaraRakiUchiha No, not her, two other australian lolitas have been though.

  • Oh my goodness, I saw you girls in Brisbane the other day! They were absolutely stunning!

  • @indianpepperminttea aw thanks :3 should have said hi!!

  • I simply adore this! It would be a wonderful way to explain lolita to a group of people or just to watch for fun. It's well made and really shows the feeling of the fashion well. I have been waiting for this since you posted the preview and was not disappointed!

  • @TheKunoichiNeko Thanks for following my work!

  • lovely girls <3

  • This is really well done.

I have to say though, about how the girl said that brand is so important in Lolita... You can sew excellent Lolita dresses and even put together a Lolita outfit from off-brand clothing. I've seen so many beautiful things that girls have made themselves. Brand is lovely and all, but not important.

  • @JessieKateRose She means that it's important to the culture of lolita. If there was no brand we'd have no real distinct style/image (that we try so hard to maintain), nothing new to talk about, no economy in trading/selling etc.

  • @thalionrin It didn't seem like that's what she meant to me at all, but you know her better and know what you were talking about before she said that, so I believe you.

  • @JessieKateRose Well Brand was the thing that created Lolita. I don't own any brand, and I don't think you have too, but it is rather important to Lolita.

  • @TheKunoichiNeko I'm afraid I don't understand what you mean; brands didn't "create" Lolita. Lolita was something that evolved from Otome Kei and back when it first started there weren't any Lolita brands, so how could they have created it?

  • @JessieKateRose Let me correct myself. Brand didn't create lolita, but made it into what is today. Before Angelic Pretty and BTSSB lolita look nothing like it does now. Yes, it started as a street fashion but when brands (mainly btssb) picked up on it, they slowly created what we think of lolita today. I have a book with a chapter about it, it's actually rather interesting.

  • @TheKunoichiNeko Okay, that makes a lot more sense, but don't you think that might be more due to the people than the designers? People put their own spin on their outfits even when they buy brand. After all, you don't see a bunch of rainbow deco jewelry in brand shops but a lot of Lolita wear it. Even AP's jewelry isn't quite as colorful as some of the stuff a lot of Lolita wear. And the models brands use don't often wear unnaturally colored wigs, but we do. Just something to think about.

  • @JessieKateRose I think that brand is important. Perhaps it isn't what makes or breaks the fashion, but saying it isn't might not be tactful. Brand is a huge part in the fashion, even though handmade and offbrand clothing is often gorgeous. If not actually wearing it, brand definitely is what sets the trends and "rules" and provides a sense of belonging to the community. Just ask lolitas in Japan if brand is important; I bet the majority of them will say yes.

  • I've been a fan of lolita since I was 10 years old. I'm just an admirer but I'd love to participate in the fashion. I'm 15 and a student and can't afford it yet. My Mom likes the fashion because she thinks it's cute and modest unlike a lot of clothes people my age wear. My Dad thinks it's just really pricy cosplaying I live near SF and I go to the shops and I hope one day I can buy one.

  • I know about Lolita since 2008 and I'm still just an admirer of this fashion. I really love it but I think there's so much that I must learn before I use it for the 1st time. In my country, there are few Lolitas. It's kind of difficult wear it here like in another places, due to prejudice and other things. Despite this, I try to take Lolita always with me in some way. I don't want to be exactly a Lolita, but I'd really love to be part of the wonderful, beautiful and magic world related to one. ♥

  • I wish I could dress like a Lolita...but it's sooo expensive and I'm sooo poor ; A;

  • @ItsRainingZOMBIEZ You can try shopping at Bodyline.com or Anna House :)

  • The camerawork and graphics are lovely. I hope you will do more like this in the future! :0

  • @MEGHAPSEY Thank you! I am not much into documentary but we'll see :)

  • I have been waiting for this video to come out :))

It is amazing to see so many people dressing in Lolita ~ It makes me really happy, share the love I say ~ ~

  • LOL my gaia avi is lolita & this video reminds me of my avi

  • @Gabbrielle: Your wigs are gorgeous <3!

  • Wonderful video.

  • Well said! Brava! ♥ ♥ ♥ What a wonderful documentary! -favorites and shares it on facebook-

  • This is a cool video about Lolitas.

  • One of the best documentaries I've seen of the fashion! :D Great quality!

  • Who throws a pickle? I mean, honestly?

  • I actually got bullied by a lolita for wanting to be lolita. Basically told me

"The fact that you joined the (insert my city lolita group) is really annoying. YOU own NOTHING lolita. you know NOTHING about the fashion".

I know I shouldn't let it get to me but uuugh... :(

  • @gothjet Sometimes lolitas get offended when "outsiders" proclaim themselves to be lolita and have no knowledge, and don't even know the style that they are attempting to wear. I think it's because we work so hard to define ourselves and our fashion and when something threatens that we don't react well. But that doesn't excuse rude behaviour, and everybody has to start somewhere. Personally our own community is very welcoming and helpful to newbies!

  • @thalionrin thank you :) Though she was a newbie herself and claimed I "suddenly" became a lolita when I had been interested for 2 years but oh well. what can ya do...

  • it´s just not fair. Somehow you get harassed for everything that´s a little bit unusual.

  • oh my!! you almost made me cry, i was so touched by this video!! we go trough the same things, the diference is the place, i think you look so gourgeos and pretty, i'm so proud of the australian lolita comunity (sorry for my poor english)

  • @022effchan I'm glad the film could move you so much!

  • Amazing, simply amazing!

  • This is absolutely lovely! ive been interested in lolita since high school, its just so expensive so i make due with what i have, one day something from innocent world shall be mine. And you are all beautiful!

  • @Anyhoodle7 Innocent world is my favourite brand, half my wardrobe is by them now. :) Good choice! Good luck with it!

  • i really like this!! :) thank you!

  • I don't wear lolita (though I've always wanted to try), but I love lolita and I think all of you ladies look absolutely lovely! Great documentary about the daily lolita life :)

  • Great documentary, although I hate how that one girl says brand is so important... The look is the most important part. Where your got your pieces from is irrelevant.

  • @DaisyExodus you´re right. also Shelby Cloud here on youtube says it doesn´t matter :)

  • @DaisyExodus She meant that brand is important to the culture of the fashion, not that you can only own brand. Without brand we wouldn't have any style guides or inspiration or economy etc etc

  • I love lolita since I ws a kid, but I'm too ugly to ever use one of those dresses. At last I can make the most beautiful designs for someone else to use them <3

  • That was fantastic !!! Wonderfully shot and structured. Congratulations to everyone involved :-)

  • @t00bed Thank you!

  • Try kickstarterDOTcom for funding and advertise the campaign on EGL other communities and facebook pages ;) Just an idea! Check that website and you will find lots of people doing the same for their documentaries or crazy projects :3

  • Parasol fight *_*!! I'm a lolita but I live in a town where I can run around in it pretty freely ^^; I love this documentary!!

  • "The video keeps stopping at a certain point and won't play. Blaah. But I love Lolita and I'm hopeing to get enough money from chrsitmas to get a few.

  • This was phenomenal, so nice to finally see it! Great job thanks to everyone involved.

  • We're not lolitas, but I absolutely love the message of this video. (*ノωノ)♡ It's very uplifting and was really entertaining! I would love to see something a bit longer as well~ ヾ(*´▽`*)ノ

    Great job!! ヾ(●・▽・人・▽・○)ノ

  • Great documantary! Congratuation to everybody who helped to make this video. :)

  • Lovely doc ♥ ^_^

  • I love lolita. I'd lve to be a lolita... But I can't afford it... it is an expensive hobby...

  • @rosydonut

You could try Bodyline Yokoso, they have beautiful things that aren't to expensive. Trust me, I don't make much money at ALL, but I'm still a Lolita. :)

  • @rosydonut

Also, you could learn to make clothes and accessories, there's actually a lot of far less expensive ways to be a Lolita than buying from brand so if you really are interested in being a Lolita there definitely are ways to become one if you're on a limited budget like I am. There are also plenty of guides for Lolitas who don't have a ton of money online.

  • @rosydonut You can always make your own clothing or wear handmade/secondhand/replicas.

  • I fell in love with it! I was wondering if I can translate it to spanish so my friends can see it too (with subtitles)

  • Thanks, really enjoyed watching this... you should do more

  • very well done! :D

  • Being a Lolita in a small town full of close-mined people is hard. But people have come to accept me for who I am :D I have become more comfortable wearing Lolita as well.

  • No! No at the parasol fighting! That's how I broke my first parasol.

  • I remember when I wore lolita for the first time. I felt really out of place but it wasn't new. Everyone focused on my shoes when giving compliments for the most part. My math teacher stopped class to discus my outfit and I explained it to everyone. They still thought I was weird but my teacher was interested. A girl in another class that I'd never talked to in my life ran up to me almost yelling "WHERE YOU GET DAT HARAJU-KU GURL!?" I tried so hard not to laugh as I told her.

  • My boyfriend absolutely LOVES lolita, by the way. He wants so badly to have something he can wear with me. Not a dress, mind you. He wants things like what the character Louis wears in the movie 'Interview with the Vampire".

  • @Kytachan Great, mine too! ^v^

Appearently in my country, my boyfriend is the only one who doesn't think Lolita Style is a "boner-killer" can you believe that!? O.o

  • @Kytachan That's wonderful that he wants to share your interests! My boyfriend is an aristo/dandy and we dress up together everyday. :) Look at all the men's styles, brands like Atelier Boz, Alice and the Pirates, Moi-meme-Moitie, Black Peace Now (for men). There are a lot of BPN on auctions if you look. The only trouble is that Japanese men's sizes aren't that big - my boyfriend is tall and skinny, and while he fits everything just fine, some of it is a bit short.

  • @Kytachan Tha'ts nice that your teacher was interested! But haha that's funny..~

  • People are actually calling these girls slutty? Really? Wow...

On a better note, their outfits are so damn cute! <3

  • A fetish? Are you kidding me? It's like... the total opposite. :(

  • Tonight on "My Strangest Addictions".

  • This is the sweetest thing I've seen in quite a while. I don't have a lolita community near me, and it's so inspiring to see all you girls standing by each other :D

  • I would love to see a full half an hour or hour long documentary on lolita similar to some of the ones that are done on History Channel or Travel Channel about other things. Really flush out the different genres and sub-genres and go into more detail about all the prejudice we deal with daily (for whatever bizarre reasons).

  • @GrimmDeathberry I'd love to! Especially actually going to japan as well as all the psychological viewpoints of us/the fashion. Welll if someone wants to give me fundingggggggg... :D ha.

  • Great video girls!

This is by far the best lolita documentary i've seen yet. :)

i didnt want it to end!!!!

  • Excellent video! Though I wish it was a bit longer than 9:58 =[

  • 2:40 Epic dream closet with epic music :) I love lolita fashion and I hope to have a closet as full of cool garments as this one :)

  • @grenouilleroze I have a big closet but nothing compared to hers... envious xD

  • You guys are so brave , and I have so much respect for you. I am going to be wearing Lolita for the first time in January hopefully ,and plan on going into the lifestyle. I have been since I was 13 i am now 21. I am a brolita and i plan to wear both boystyle and dresses. thankyou for this video.

  • lovely video! ^^

    and very interesting! ^^

and i'm actually happy to hear i'm not the only one who can't dress up that much without being harrassed -__- but i have to say, Lolita is quite new around here (Belgiul), so it will need some time i guess :D

  • I'M LOLITA 'CAUSE I CAN .... epic

  • Omg I loved this documentary so much. <3 And I had no idea that in Australia people harassed lolitas so much. o_o'' It's so scary and so sad at the same time... ._. I mean, here where I live, in Portugal, I also receive many stupid comments but nobody throws me stuff or anything like that. (And wth PICKLES?! Really?!)

But aside from that, I'm kinda jelly of that wardrobe in the beginning. ;w; *been a lolita for a year and a half* And everyone looks so beautiful omg! <3

  • @WhiteSakurazuka I would say australians on a whole can be pretty vocal and rude about anything, so it's not surprising about their reaction.. On the other hand, there are a lot of positive comments, so I don't mind. :)

  • it's really upsetting that these girls are getting abuse for something so beautiful just because they are not dressing in other people's ideal dress code. It's ridiculous.

  • Hello from a lolita from Malaysia :)

  • i love this video it so lovely , lolita is such a beautiful fashion

  • Omigosh YES! I have been waiting for this documentary for months! I'm so glad I can finally watch it. :3♥

    I really enjoyed it.

I cannot believe that these BEAUTIFUL girls have been harassed...

I just don't get it! Lolita is absolutely BEAUTIFUL, and they ABSOLUTELY ROCK IT!

    Luckily for me, I have yet to be harassed while in Lolita. >_<;

Perhaps Canadians are more understanding? Or maybe I have just never been in the wrong place, at the wrong time.

  • So I take it since brand is important its bad to make your own clothes even if their well made? :\

  • @xlilxcreepyxgirlx No one said that, well done handmade lolita is actually praised in the lolita community.

  • @xlilxcreepyxgirlx Brand is a big part of the fashion, but many people make their own clothes and if you're good at it then it can be really impressive!

  • Im still scared to wear lolita outa cosplay conventions x.x

  • @HaileeHorrorPro

I used to feel the same,I'm stil selective about where I choose to wear it but remember that at the end of the day it's just clothing and anyone who harrases you or is abusive is in the wrong! xx

  • @HaileeHorrorPro I wear lolita every day, though mostly toned down classic/sweet stuff, and my boyfriend is aristo so we make a pretty strong impression together.. :P It can be daunting when you're by yourself and you're not used to it though, or if you're out late at night.. ^^ Make sure you feel comfortable and safe.

  • @thalionrin alright! ima slowly make my way to wearing full sweet lolita in public and what not I got some good confidence boosting comments x3 thanks =D

  • When I wore lolita to school for the first time I did feel auwkward!

I got weird looks and people thought I was strange.

They asked me if I wasn't ashamed of what I was wearing:P

The first reactions from friends were a bit vague too.

I felt really uncomfortable the whole day.

I wanted to leave class and go home.

But this didn't to stop me from wearing it as much as I can!:D

I love this video by the way! I'd love to know which camera you used it's such a pretty view and colour scheme.

  • @NoxiousGum I'm glad you still wear it :) I shot it on a Panasonic P2 camera, can't remember the specific model. It's broadcast quality, however my dvd-rip wasn't great so it's not HD on here unfortunately..!

  • @NoxiousGum Omg, I went through the exact same thing! I wore lolita to school and people were laughing and screaming at me. Even my friend avoided me the best they could. I did stay in school the whole day but I havn't worn lolita to school again. This makes me feel really bad since I am a lolita at heart and I feel truly beautiful when wearing it.

I know you didn't ask anyone to throw their misery at you, but I just wanted to say it since I felt like you would understand...

  • @ITakeTime remember a few things, those sheep were trained to think they way to think. It's what you think, not what they think. If you feel beautiful, be proud!

  • you guys are AWESOME :D

  • hi im kim and i love lolita fashion im hopeing to get my first dress soon but i found that its hard to find things in my size. i wear a size 16 in US size and the lolita brand dress only go to a 12 or there like a size 2 -_- if any one can tell me of a good sdtore a site to buy lolita that would be great.

  • @kimthongdee1 Hi Kim, if you search on EGL livejournal you can find some helpful links for plus-size clothing. Mostly Taobao brands have larger, or can offer custom sizing, and they have some great original designs and replicas. Dear Celine, Dream of Lolita, etc (look up "list of taobao stores"). :)

  • @thalionrin thank you :)

  • Amazing! You guys are beautifull. I am so happy you uploaded this. I am sorry anyone has been made to feel not safe, this shouldn't happen anywhere. Thanks so much. The quality of this video is so good and you are all very lovely ladies!

  • 3:45 Oh my what a poster!

  • awesome documentary girls!! !! <3

  • Woderfully done! I really love it!

  • oww such a great documentary <3 hope I have a big lolita community here too (so far I'm the only lolita and my friend love it but hasn't started yet, you can say it just two of us :D )

  • I got kicked out of class once because I went to school as a lolita on my birthday.

    What a fucking nice present.

  • @YuiMewMew Can you get kicked out for inappropriate clothing? I've always worn a uniform, but we had free-dress days. Unfortunately in high school I was a complete ita, and I really regret wearing what I did... >_> But at university I wore lolita every day ;P

  • @thalionrin Well, I had to get out of the class and I had to put off my wig and stuff. We don't have uniforms, we're "ALLOWED TO WEAR WHAT WE WANT"... But yeah, I'm in high school and she thought it was a costume so I had to leave. lol.

  • @YuiMewMew I am just curious, not to intrude on your conversation but, do they do that to the "goth" kids at this school?

  • @Lilnaomi3 Not at all, that's what pisses me off so much...

  • I was so happy to see the completed documentary!! :D Such a great job!

  • I'm 15 and I'm a lolita in Brisbane, and I really love this video! :O I've been into lolita for 2 years (started young ==;) and I honestly don't have anyone to share it with. When ever I go out in lolita with my friends I can tell they're uncomfortable with it, my family calls it costumes too. I can take all the insults and stares from the public, (some are hilarious!) but I hate that no one's really comfortable to go out with me dressed like that. But it will never stop me!

  • @ToxicBlackMoral If you add me on FB I can add you to the brisloli fb group, otherwise there's oz_lolita on livejournal of course. All my friends are comfortable with the way I dress, but I normally wear classic with a sweet tone, not OTT sweet or anything these days (of course on events etc I will go all out though!) so it appeals to these indie-vintage-retro-hipster types.. :P Good on you though!
