  • :)

  • He's fucking wild, but he told the guy to becareful haha

  • @BadassAnons

you gotta warn children first, then you can hit them.

  • "I wanted to be a dancer, but I could never scrape the shit off my boots." (3:41) Now I wonder what Puck of a Midsummer's Dream would say to that? Grass is so good for getting shit off your boots, so good the guy in the 7-11 may not care if you go with the quarters (0:41). Yeah, urban life sucks.

  • Great rare spoken word footage, most likely from late 84 or early 85 in Toronto.

  • I was expecting an Axl Rose when he got nailed in the mouth.

  • He sounds just like James Ransone from Generation kill and the wire.

  • Awh I love his hair.

  • who gives a hoot what Henry Rollins looked like....didn't we all have long hair at some point?

  • @vortexion true..i just got rid of my mohawk 2 weeks ago haha

  • @matthewmccall78 My friend met his mom

  • @matthewmccall78 DEFINATELY hes my favorite drummer and the descendents/ALL are my favorite band(s) Black Flag is close behind

  • So awesome. Very creative and intelligent man!

  • "I'm not as intelligent as Jim Morrison so I'll do the next best thing---try to look like him" (Henry Lawrence Garfield)

  • @ritter89 yeah bring back the 60s, faggot!

  • @ritter89

    Yep, Jim sure was intelligent.

"Ride the snake-to the ancient lake"

Guy had so much potential, and drank it/drugged it away.

So making a t-shirt of that.

  • awsome

  • if i could mold my body to look like young henry... that would be a sight

  • @Kaprah91 pushups pullups core work & road work. eat less. eat better. drink less booze/drink no booze

  • Look at 1:28. Man that is a sexy man.

  • What's the song at 0:30 ? I wanna say Scream but I think I might be wrong.

  • @xSPLENDAx The song is "My Ghetto" from the SLIP IT IN album.

  • rollins explanation of understaniding what he says at 1:48 is totally the same thing that goes for death metal

  • lol bitch think he jim morrison

  • rollins is so emo

  • @GayWhoReadThis Hot Topic shit didn't exist then

Go to Miley Cyrus vid ?

  • @gsh73la who's Miley Cyrus is that a bearded guy who plays blues?

  • @GayWhoReadThis

He's from The Delta Sappers, he had a beard on their first album, but got a handlebar mustache for the next two. He was really into the Castro scene in San Fran and wore a lot of biker leather. I personally saw him punch out a guy at a bar in the Anaheim hills, then suck the unconscious dude out. He could breathe fire and his voice was like if whiskey smoked cigarettes.

A real hard motherfucker, through life and bed.

  • @GayWhoReadThis This was long befor emo. This was REAL emo is fake.

  • @jobie23 rollins gave birth to emo

  • Comment removed

  • @GayWhoReadThis And you must be such an expert on EMO. lol.

  • @jobie23 yes

  • that last part about the homless guy was actually pretty sad

  • Does Anybody know the name of the song at 0:26 ?

  • @LaGuerreDuFeu My Ghetto off slip it in.

  • Henry Rollins is actually Kenny G's brother. XD

  • He had such pretty, long, curly hair... gosh I'm jealous

  • Lol i never knew Henry Rollins was the 1st guy 2 look like an emo...i guess hes jst revolutionary on all sorts of levels

    .

  • Comment removed

  • @alaric2OOO Henry always struck me as an insecure closet homo

  • lol i love how people get thumbs up from fucking quoting shit. "they too pecked their dates on the lips and made it home on 10:15 just like you!" now thumbs up me assholes...

  • Hot girl at 3:06 looks sleepy and bored out of her mind and she's clapping Rollins. That's funny.

  • great stuff video youth hell yea

  • "i wanted to be a dancer, but i could never scrape the shit off my boots. i've been writing ever since." awesome.

  • He does an entire monologue on Paul on the Human Butt CD.

  • Does anyone, ANYONE know where I can find a copy (physical or otherwise) of that album?

  • I have that album

  • Like him very much, but he is making the same mistake his is talking about. Lecturing. Giving moral advices. Being a punk, I love him, but it seems like he has become one of the he targets. Being a punk is for me: Live and let live. I'm old enough and I've been a punk ever since I was 15 (allmost 30 years now). I was there and I've seen it all. Great respect to Yello and Henry.

  • the ending part was awesome.

  • why can't there me more men like Henry Rollins

  • @Twedoo

  • @Twedoo Quite different

  • love rollins! his delivery in spoken has evolved sooo much...his music is always been great

  • gorgeous, intelligent, hard working, and just a well mannered man. ::sigh:: how come they don't make men like this anymore???

  • @peechyq

because you don't look hard enough.

  • @peechyq why aren't girls attracted to men like this, without trying to talk myself up i see so many similarites to henry in myself and my view points...im 20 and everyone mt age just thinks im a weirdo...dont get me wrong im popular got friends and all...but everyone is like your really odd coz i dont feel i have to go get drunk every sat night or i prefer watching documenatries to fucking coronation street and yeh i never get girls

  • @ytrewqasfd oh, I hear lots of women say that they find Henry Rollins wildly attractive, yet he says, in real life, he never dates. I would say his confrontational, ultra-high standards persona is extremely intimidating to a lot of people. As for you, well, what type of girls are you trying to get. Fellow oddballs, or stereotypical popular 'hot chicks'? Perhaps you need to rethink your criteria.

  • @moonlily1 well i much prefer to speak to people like me obviously, but the point im trying to make is that they are hard to come across in this day and age where the only thing that seems to matter is how drunk you can get and stupid you can look whilst attempting to dance to some generic digitalised singing chris brown bull shit music, and yeh generally i cbf to talk to those sort of girls but sometimes...you just wanna fuck them and you can't

  • @ytrewqasfd well, quit trying to fuck them! Relax your physical standards, raise your intellectual ones. Stop trying to make friends with dumbasses and worrying about whether people you don't even respect like you or not. If I can find a few like-minded people to hang with, so can you. Stop measuring yourself by the standards of a culture you don't approve of anyway; embrace your different-ness and other people's too. if you wind up alone anyway, at least it will be on your own terms.

  • @moonlily1 trust me dude i don't worry about whether those idiot's like me, and i definately don't wast emy time trying to get them to like me because, i would rather get a shotgun and put in my mouth then have a conversation with those sort of people, i just wish that everyone could be as open minded and not full of shit, i feel sorry for them

  • @peechyq We are rare.

  • @peechyq

They do make a few men like that.

These specimens just don't get laid because life is cruel.

  • @peechyq

They still do, though they are like dinosaurs in our modern culture. It takes real oldschool parents to bring someone up properly nowdays.

Few and far between, good luck :).

  • @peechyq They do, society kills their spirits.

  • @peechyq we are made in small doses ,sorry

  • @peechyq Um, Hi there ;) lolz

  • @peechyq There are plenty of men like that out there, except they don't pay for dinner on the first date as is required, so we kinda get left behind to write lyrics and poetry about how we were tossed aside, that someone will pick up after we were relevant, and say 'by god this person actually had something", but will mean nothing to anyone else, as we have already shuffled off the mortal coil, and allow an agent to bask in the 5% of our previous works that everyone else just considered weird.

  • @peechyq Yeah, He's Insanely intense but has self control. It's a trip, huh?

  • straight got roundhouse kicked in the mouth.

  • actually henry did liked pain to kinda pump him up.he did really crazy shit when he was with black flag haha

rollins is a cool dude! and if u dont agree with me...GO CURL UP IN A HOLE AND LIGHT YOUR ASS ON FIRE!!!!

  • He's just so calm about being kicked in the mouth LOL.

  • Rofl,

"You, you right there just kicked me in my mouth. So, be careful."

  • at least he was nice about it. hahahaha.

  • @KillYouCFH cause it was an accident

  • @KillYouCFH shit at least he was polite about it....lol.

  • @KillYouCFH "be careful, please." LOL, I'd be shitting bricks if Henry Rollins just pointed me out and said I kicked him in the mouth.

  • just so you know, i believe henry rollins admitted to smoking a joint and doing shrooms before way back in the early 1980s.

however, this was only briefly in henry rollins life. he came to realize he didn't like any of it and went on to live a straight-edge life which he became associated with in the early 1990s

however, there are accounts of henry doing a few trial attempts at basic hallucigens in the first year or so of black flag

  • not to get into a pointless argument, but when people say straight edge lifestyle they think of someone not doing narcotics, smoking, or drinking alcohol they don't think about silly and backwards things like being a veggie or vegan.

  • Not to provoke said pointless argument, but I guess it's just since I live in Cali where you're not straight edge unless you're vegan.

  • Henry looks weird with all that hair.

  • Not as good as his mature years, but the energy's there.

The lines at the end are good.

  • henry never did lsd...

  • i wonder if this was before or after all the lsd

  • probably during or just after.

  • henry rollins is such a smart guy...like i thought he was like that now..but i had no idea he was always such a great guy.

  • 0:19 hillarious

  • Comment removed

  • okay?

  • just something i noticed

  • When they started playing slower stuff 'just to piss people off.' awesome. where would they come up with such a good idea?

  • He used to be kinda pretty.... Now he looks like a meat head....

Is it just me or do you think that he STARTED out much cooler than he is now?

  • he's always been a meathead.....in a good way...

    everyone gets old ...

  • He's not old though

  • No because he isnt full of teenage angst BS and actualy has thoughts.

  • Comment removed

  • A person trying to look like a statue is always never good.

  • No.. People are just brainwashed by "youth" propaganda

  • I always wanted to be a dancer but I could never get the shit off of my shoes

  • i love the ending...so sad

  • This was very cool

  • Lil' ol' Black Flag...

  • He had a lisp?

  • It must have left with his long hair?

  • You know the way he is in his early days I wonder how he would react to see himself as he is now. The whole anarchist attitude to me is spawned from bored teenagers not wanting to take responsibility and feeling like having no place in life because they can't understand anything when in truth at that age you can't even understand yourself because you are still creating a personality.

  • you may be right, but i don't think people like the idea of conforming to a man-made routine.

  • Funniest part is, not wanting to be part of a routine, is part of the routine.

  • yeah and nonconforming is conforming to nonconformism :/

  • But refusing to conform to someones non-conformist views just for the sake of not conforming is just as bad as not conforming in the first place

  • Hmmm, insightful.

  • I actually was thinking about that. Nowadays he seems like a much more, I guess "easy-going" is the word, guy. He seems friendlier. Still has the same strong viewpoints, but relates them better. Maybe it's because he isn't around people as much as he was in the younger days? I'm not sure, but seeing clips of him and what not back in the 80s, with Black Flag, he seems filled to the brim with anger.

  • I would use the words tame and compliant or maybe even complacent than easy going.

  • Fantastic to see this online! I think the interviewer is Daniel Richler, and this *might* have been in the context of Canadian show 'The New Music'? Does that ring a bell with anyone?

  • I think you're on to something! Great call.

  • you, you right there just kicked me in my mouth so be careful please. AHHHHHHHHHH!

  • very awesome video. Thank you!
