Epic game. My favorite of the series and one of my favorites PS2 games. I just don't get why Konami didn't made anime like openings in Suikoden IV and V.

幻水３でこの曲を聴いてから姫神さんのＣＤを聴くようになりまし­た。

シンセとか使ってても、どことなく東北生まれの自分には

懐かしい・・・というか何百年、何千年にも渡るスピリットのよう­なものを感じます。

ゲームもなかなかやりがいがありました。

全主人公でやりこみプレイした１０年前が懐かしい。

後付け加えると2002年の発売当時は応援体制がすごかった。電­撃なんかもかなりページ割いて特集してたし、攻略本も何冊も出た­し。

個人的には３がベスト。スキルがあるからキャラの能力差が小さい­し、戦争も育成がダイレクトに戦力に反映されるし、デザインもシ­リーズで一番。何よりそれまでの集大成なのが良かった。１０年前­か・・・

However even a sub par Suikoden beats nearly any other RPG put out on the market, same with the sub par FF, Star Ocean and so on series out there. They are high quality games that even on their worse day beat other game's best. I thoroughly enjoyed S3 and hope we see a S6 out at some point. I personally want to see more into the story of Yuber, Pesmerga and that whole dark past. We can only dream right?

...possible given the length of the game. What made so many other series popular were your growing attachment to characters as you proceeded through the game. With 108, it's next to impossible to accomplish that. What Suikoden makes up for is it's depth of game play, overall story (if you count the entire history of Suikoden) and vast details and side things your able to do.

S3 may be the decline of the series as I wasn't impressed with 4, Tactics and did enjoy 5 but not as much as 1, 2, 3....

I often hear that Suikoden 3 is the start of the decline of the series and I'm entitled to agree. However S3 is slightly underrated IMO, while 1 and 2 are my favorites for their overall aspects, 3 comes real close in terms of actually offering a in depth storyline from multiple view points. Problem with Suikoden and why it's not the best RPG series out there (Final Fantasy, Star Ocean and others I'd put slightly ahead) is because with so many characters adding in depth story background isn't...

Holy shit, I started with Suikoden 4, am on 5..... and just found out the chronological order. :D

Suikoden IV (143 years before Suikoden V and 150 years before Suikoden) → Suikoden V (7 years before Suikoden) → Suikoden (3 years before Suikoden II) → Suikoden II (15 years before Suikoden III) → Suikoden III

ugh with this quality animation, Konami should focus on making an anime from the first game to where it is right now, or at the very least, make suikoden II into anime of this calibur. Animation of this quality is sadly rare.

It's not easy as it sounds. Suikoden titles were just gaining a foothold in Japanese RPG console market dominated by other major titles. It cost a lot of money to make animation and popularity wasn't overwhelming to make an animation series.

Speaking of quality, Suikoden 3 animation was done by Japan's best animators. Its animation supervisor was Akihiko Yamashita, who was animation supervisor for "Howl's moving castle".

Well...it's already 5 years since the Suikoden 3 came out. Not likely to happen. At least they're lucky to have multi-volume manga. Even if it makes into TV animation format, without right studio and right people, the quality can't even come close to above clip.

You know, I took pictures of some people who dressed as a Suikoden 5 character. Yes, FF7 and Naruto are overrated and I'm not a fan of them. You know what? Let's take a closer look. Naruto is formulaic, but has well developed story that attracts mass audience. So does FF7, but its strength lies on gameplay and its formulaic pretty CG. I know it's frustrating not seeing diversity. Trust me, I hate to see 50 Narutos and another 50 Sephiroth/Clouds showing their mediocre costumes.

This is the opening movie for Suikoden III, a PS2 game. Unfortunately, the gameplay is nowhere near as awesome as the opening FMV.
