This Yang Guo keeps mentioning that his father died before he was born. If you followed the 2008 'Legend of The Condor Heroes', you will see that his father Yang Kang actually was around to take care of him and his mother. He later died at the hands of Ouyang Feng, the person who taught Yang Guo the 'Toad Skill'...

@crispyC718 yang kang didn't die because of guo jing...it is his own doing when he tried to attack huang rong and was inflicted with poison he used to kill the 5 freaks with OYF. OYF didn't cure him coz he found out YK was the one who killed his son. I just recently found this from the other version :)

Well he actually does love Guo Jing. It's just that he was mistreated as a child by Guo Jing's wife, who always suspected him and the other kids who bullied him constantly.

Yang Guo does respect Guo Jing thats why at the very end he doesn't kill him because he came to find out about the misunderstanding between them. and plus he's been mistreated because of his father. its like saying your dad's a killer and betrayer and so you are his son and will do the same.. like son like father.. if you understand the whole story its a lovely story because it foretells the hidden love and truth behind respect and integrity.

@tintindo123 actually, even tho he named him for yang kang, mu nianci, yang guo's mother asked guo jing to becuase she didn't know what to name him. and he named him yang "guo" becuase he didnt' want him to be like his father. to be a good person
